Pikmin (No Deaths) - Finale: The Final Trial (Happy End)

- In this final part, we tackle the game's final trial! We get it done in a day, but don't feel bad. When I got here the first time it took me like three, just for one part.
Afterwards, we watch the game's best ending, which you get by recovering every ship part in the 30 day time limit. You get the regular ending by getting every vital ship part before day 30 is over and you get the bad ending if you couldn't recover the vital parts before then.
Thanks for watching this playthrough! I had a lot of fun replaying this game. Challenge Mode is up next! They won't be TAs-tier videos, but I hope I can pull off a decent score. And then I want to do Pikmin 2! Look forward to that. - เกม

That little scene makes me emotional.
Olimar shaking his head and sighing in disappointment because he thought that it was gonna be the last time he was gonna see the Pikmin.
But thanks to Olimar, the Pikmin could now properly defend themselves without the need of a leader.

Yes. With Olimar's help, they learned how to be independant during his adventure.

Yes. They killed a bulborb on their own.
It actually goes a little further than just Olimar showing them how to properly defend themselves. What Olimar actually shows them is that they have strength in numbers despite being relatively weak by themselves and that by working together, the pikmin can take on problems they couldn't otherwise by themselves. It definitely hurts more having to leave them behind. Funny enough I actually like the failure condition ending more because Olimar gets to be a pikmin!
Happy Ending: The Pikmins become vengeful after Olimar betrays and leaves them, venting their frustration onto an unknowing innocent bug.

Not sure if you already know this but the Pikmin music is no longer copyrighted as far as I know. So does that mean you can unmute it now? It doesn't feel right hearing certain parts muted.
@@spacefanatic6458 Sorry, I only now saw this reply. What I had to do was remove that part of the music track from the video ON TH-cam to remove the copyright claim, so there's no way to add it back up (unless I put in some random music sample from TH-cam).

This boss. I killed almost every Pikmin I had on accident. It was a mess. A slaughter. I felt so bad.
I'm sorry that Emperor Bulblax gave you a hard time. But don't worry, you'll get better.....
In the ending we see black, pink, light blue, green and orange onions. The pink and black likely have flying and rock, but I wonder about the others. What strange species of Pikmin have we yet to discover?
I never put that together that they actually accounted for the black and pink onions for the winged and rock pikmin in 3. Makes you wonder if they chose the cyan, orange, and green onions what abilities they would’ve had. Maybe ice for the cyan? Don’t know about the green and orange though.

6:40 Holy shit!! So many bomb rocks created a loud explosion that caused Emperor Bulblax to remain stunned for a long time!! Thanks for bringing up an interesting method there cause I had issues battling that creature many times.
That was incredible! Playing through the game with ZERO DEATHS! I picked up this game and beat it in just 3 days. I used to play a ton of Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 as a kid.
Are you talking about the final boss?because it’s not possible to beat the game in 3 days. You have to travel to different parts in the world and even if you did collect all parts in a single place there is more than just 3 places.

The fact that you were on day 12 and getting your final part tells me I'm not good at managing my pikmin. Considering on my final day i managed to barely get 27.
Bro i just lost my "F" in my name in a "F" match in smash with my friends, and i said to them that the only way to recover the "F" in my name it was beating Pikmin without a single death, and finally i can say, I'm Freyre again and not Reyre, thanks to you buddy, it took me like a month and a half but i was able to do it, thanks a lot man, i rerally love your pikmin playthrough, in a month or two i'm gonna upload one video with the highlights of that journey, if you can see it i'm gonna be so happy, thanks a lot my friend :)

I'm amazed you did this with no deaths. I gave up on doing no deaths as there's this stupid glitch that kills my pikmin whenever I charge them at something such as a Bulborb. I mean it's not hard to do no deaths if that glitch didn't exist. Heck I was able to beat the Smoky Prog with no deaths. I might revisit Pikmin and attempt no deaths... I might...
That's why I dropped trying to swarm everything and if I did, I was willing to reset the day if the glitch happened. That's amazing that you beat the smoky prog without deaths, though. I can't do that.
Hawelo92 It was pretty easy. All I did was have some extra yellow Pikmin to carry some bomb rocks around, about like 15 of them just to be safe, while I was collecting the rest of the ship parts in the distant spring. Then when there's like a 1/3 of the day left or less I awaken the Smoky Prog with one blue, let him go to the base and throw the bomb rocks at him. Just wait until he's standing still or roaring and you can defeat him within 2 cycles. I'm pretty sure you can fit this in your play through. I had only 1 more day than you because I decided to fight Goolix and another secret boss in the impact site.
Yeah if you want to do it with no deaths don’t swarm large enemies. And battle large enemies with few pikmin.
For arguably being one of the hardest Pikmin games to beat (mainly because the ai and the new tech they were expiermenting with and just rhe limitations of the game) Getting this ending is so rewarding, you feel like you've done something not a lot of a people have, You sat through a game that yes took you forever it was annoying painful and at times boring you'd rather just play one of the better sequels...But The song the Triumphant Music that plays when you get all 30 of the ship parts and you the see the final repairs to the ship as she beams to life once again, it's a treasure ment to rival those of The other endings...because you were the first and you will always be the first
To those curious, Pikmin 4 establishes that this Emperor is an alpha known as a Sovereign Bulblax. So if you ever wondering why the ones in 2 and early 4 are easy to kill, its because of that.
I finally beat Emperor Bulblax without losing any Pikmin using this trick. I actually had to bomb him twice, but this trick worked wonders for me.

6:38 This method does not work in the Wii release as Yellows no longer drop bomb rocks when whistled. AFAIK there is no reliable way to take down the Bulblax without sacrificing a few Yellows in that version of the game. (I made many attempts.)
You can still do it one bomb at a time, it just takes a lot longer. There's a video here showing how to do it.

To this day I still wonder what kind of pikmin that green pikmin would be. You can see a green onion flying as Olimar is departing the planet.

I actually think they're the parasitic Pikmin that infect Bulborbs that we can see in Pikmin 2, since they have a green glow when idle, and appear green on the map. Technically tho, we never do get to see the Pikmin itself.
I think I made that assumption at some point in the comments of this guy's pikmin 2 playthrough not long ago.
We also see a light blue and orange ones (also pink and black, but I think those are just flying and rock Pikmin)

I tried and tried. No matter what I can't kill this thing. Do I need this part to get Olimar home? Or can the ship take off and get him home without it?
Yup this last part is optional. But you need to wait out the 30 days to finish the game in that case.
Confused on how the bomb thing works. When you whistle your pikmin in a situation like that do they just know to drop the bomb because an enmy is close? Or is there a certain way you need to whistle at them? Same with the beginning part when you threw them over a body of water do they not drop the bomb because they know they cant return to you?
Bomb rocks work in two ways. If you throw your pikmin, they'll remain in place unless there's something nearby they can use the bomb on, where they will throw it and then try to return to you. When they do this, nearby Pikmin are alerted and return to you as well. If you whistle them, they will drop their bombs where they stand and return to you. If you touch them, they don't drop the bombs.
If you dismiss your Pikmin with X, then they won't use their bombs and you can whistle them back no problem.

The thing you did to takedown Emperor Bulblax was a Speedrunning strat mostly for 6 or 7 day Pikmin challenges.
Yeah, I just couldn't see myself fighting him "traditionally" and not losing pikmin, it's such a hard battle if you do it that way.

How did you do this? I left the battle with only two leaf blue pikmin. All the reds and yellows died.

Yeah Idk. It's really suspicious. I did the exact same thing and yet mine where not stunned nearly as long either. His videos really odd. Especially since he's using a dolphin emulator.
Me and 8 other people did EXACTLY what he did exactly the way he did it. Needless to say; it didn't work. And (IF) you kill it, you won't have enough pikmin to carry the last ship part back. Moving on to pikmin 2. Fuck this game.
What exactly didn't work? If he wasn't stunned then you guys timed it wrong.
the trick is to whistle them back as soon as he opens his mouth, dude. unsure how you're losing THAT many pikmin in this fight, the most i've ever tanked is 70 when i was a little kid and when that happened i would just get more from the onion
edit just for clarity: he opens his mouth, you IMMEDIATELY whistle your yellows and dodge. his tongue should hit the bombs as soon as they go off which causes the stun, i will admit i never knew that more bombs = more stun time because i've just been doing it one bomb at a time for over a decade
