I grew up fishing Boca Grande pass as a kid! My great uncle lives out there and still charters to this day! Shout out to Dumplin Wheeler! Best tarpon guide on Boca Grande!

That's awesome man! Just won a Tuesday night with my girl on her second tournament 17lbs lake tarpon we had a 6lb kicker caught on a worm . Ur daughter loves the sport I hope she gets the 200lber

It was just bad rotation
I know that feeling as well... till i stopped listening to my dad’s tips and locations haha my brothers then learned from me, funny long kinda short story, we used to live in Jacksonville Florida we used to go to hanah park. And my dad would always tell me what to do and he always fished at one spot, I kept telling him dad let’s go to the boat dock there was never boats there so it seemed like the perfect spot, he kept saying no so I stopped going with him because he took his fishing seriously and never let me fish my way, so I followed my gut instinct and asked my mom if she can take my fishing so she did, haha my dad said I won’t catch a thing, we got the gear together and started fishing I ended up getting about 3 big size catfish a few crabs and stripers, my brother was also wanting to try the spot out we went early morning and the fish were so hungry we couldn’t keep up! Ever since then I started following my own gut instinct.

Great to see you guys fishing, that’s hard work setting a hook in a Tarpon is tough gotta be circle hooks , love it fishing is Awesome !!
Setting the hook is the easy part..leave the reel in gear with a few lbs of drag, with a circle hook tied on with a loop knot and the fish will hook itself. Keeping them on is the tough part.

Hilary seems so much more advanced in fish landing skills than the others. I think the rule should be to rotate the fishing chairs every hook-up ... Not every catch. More action for everyone that way. I know you're proud of Hilary as you should be. Look Out FLW ! Hilary is on the way up.
