It then concluded with some stuff from Benjamin Zephaniah saying how he was struggling to convince black and asian students to get involved in climate activism because: "“Most of the black students and the Asian students are saying my priority is just to stay safe and get on, and get this grade, and kind of better my family, and move on... The ironic thing is though, he says just talking about it isn't enough yet the question arises, is this comedy masquerading as activism? And if not and it is actually seeking to shape opinion then why won't he go a mile further and get on question time and actually get involved in debates or even stand as an independent politician and get on board with those who share the views he expressed. If he shrinks back and says, actually no! It's just comedy then how is he any different than those he is criticising and if he walked off set to glue himself to something, was that real or just until the camera switched off. Was tenuously criticising the Guardian simply window dressing to appear on the surface to be "even handed" whilst rightly gouging The Mail. If this presentation is just a facade of mock indignation for its comedy value the he might just as well go up to the protesters and call them crusties himself. Saying and doing is a test we all face. Exploiting serous issues just for comedy alone undermines efforts of those who actually do glue themselves to railings because it trivialises the issue. You know that feeling when you trip over and you get that split-second where you know you're going to fall flat on your face and it's going to hurt a lot, but at that moment in time there is really nothing you can do about it?
But we know we still have time to mitigate! You know, as you are falling, that you can put out you hand or both hands and reduce the impact! In fact, your reflex demands that you do just that and you end a bit grazed but to see another day with much less damage than if you hadn't responded as a human! You also remember and appreciate the fact that things could have been far worse if you hadn't and you do things differently afterwards, treating yourself more carefully and foreseeing the same scenario much earlier should it arise again. We are human beings, we pride ourselves on our intelligence and our reflexes and our responses to threat. It is time we all remembered that that is what we are and that we can save ourselves, albeit a bit bruised, and strive to prevent another fall!

Which Corporations? What countries are they resident in? Does that claim take into account the Carbon Emissions put out by China and India and which absolutely SWAMP our output? When are you going to tackle those countries?
Society is designed in a way that it’s literally impossible for the small to completely stop their carbon footprint. It’s up to the elite and the large corporations to actually do something about the crisis they are oh so very responsible for. @@frazerduncan356 Tbf that's not really what the Guardian's article was actually about. It was about why XR has more white people involved and how that MIGHT cause the movement to have blind spots by treating climate change as something that is about to happen, rather than as something that is already affecting non-white communities around the world. It then concluded with some stuff from Benjamin Zephaniah saying how he was struggling to convince black and asian students to get involved in climate activism because:
"“Most of the black students and the Asian students are saying my priority is just to stay safe and get on, and get this grade, and kind of better my family, and move on... It frustrates me because I want to tell them that it’s all connected. What good is your grade if you’ve got no planet?”
And that "Zephaniah points out that change is not going to come without people of colour joining the demonstrations. “What would Malcolm X think of this? We’re sitting around, waiting for white people to invite us in the struggle.”"

Seemingly?
There is not a politician that'd debate him live because he'd cut straight through their lies and obfuscation If...this was not scripted simply for its shock value and short term production expediancy.
Satire has it's place as a weapon against the establishment but only where the intent is transparent.
