Just bought one today at a farmers market. They're much more expensive (roughly $10) and smaller than a normal pineapple, but they're the real deal. Much sweeter, juicer, and zero sour or tingling sensation after eating it. Highly recommend for everyone to buy one at least once.
That looks so delicious. Our son married last year in Maui Hawaii. We went off roading with a company called Maui off road adventures. They lease one of the old Dole pineapple plantations. Dole never took the black plastic out the growing areas. Weather & winds are starting to lift the plastic in pieces, and the winds blow it down into the Ocean. They do about 12 tours a day. Each trip they plant a baby tree on the plantation that helps in catching the plastic to aid in keeping the pieces out of their ocean.
Thank you for sharing. I am eating one right now. I found mine at the Asian market on sale. Although it is delicious, I as well, would not pay more than 8 to 10 dollars for it.
You are welcome! They seem to be coming down in price a little bit and seem to be found in more places. I recently just saw them in my local supermarket (Kroger) they were a little smaller but much much cheaper.
Yes definitely, at some point. I have done all the ones that I can get here locally. So now I will need to buy them online. Still several more I want to do.
Hi Brenda, They have been bioengineered so the enzyme that causes it to be yellow have been suppressed. Also they contain lycopene, a natural pigment that gives some produce its read color, tomatoes, and watermelon for example. Those two in conjunction make it pink. :)
I haven't seen them for $50. But right now they are going for $29.99 and $39.99 online. tropicalfruitbox.com/products/pinkglow-pink-pineapple and www.melissas.com/collections/fruit-all/products/pinkglow-pineapple depending where you buy them. If you want that cool packaging they come in.
When this video came up in my notification list and i saw the title, I started laughing like crazy. Just yesterday I was talking to my son and he said, "Guess what [half-sister's name" did? - She spent $12 for A Pink Pineapple!" Little back story - she's always asking her mom for gas money, help with rent, etc... why" because she pays $12 for one pineapple and things like that. What a coincidence with this video. ROFL
I just ate this pineapple 🍍. I'm not impressed lol. It was trash. It smells good as hell but the taste was so mild. Give me regular ripe pineapple any day.
@inthekitchenwithmatt Yes, it was ripe. I was hoping for some kind of surprise, lol. I was thinking that since it looks exotic, it would taste exotic, lol. But it tasted like regular pineapple with mild sweetness.
@@InfamousMacBoxing haha yeah, and probably not worth the extra money. But fun to try. I would definitely buy them again if they were cheaper. I really liked mine.
@inthekitchenwithmatt Yeah definitely not worth how much they want to charge, lol. Food Lion had them for $4. I've seen people online that paid $20/$30 😩🙅🏾♂️. I could never in life pay $20 for 1 pineapple 🤣😂
@@InfamousMacBoxing Agreed!! I have been seeing them at my local grocery store every now and then, and they are much cheaper around $4 as well. Definitely not worth $20, I don't need the special packaging they come in lol
To hell with the Pinkglow Pineapple!! It was concocted for purely greedy reasons especially for mindless materialistic rich people with irrational passions willing to pay $300 for it when in reality it is not even BETTER THAN a regular effing pineapple! And who gives crap about how it taste if you CAN'T AFFORD IT!!!
hahaha I don't disagree! They have come down way in price. They starting selling them at my supermarket without any fancy packaging and they were only about $6, but still that is 3 times as much as a normal pineapple.
lol yeah not worth the extra money, however they are coming down in price and are more and more becoming available at normal supermarkets. It is worth trying if you find a cheaper one, to compare, but not drastically different than a normal pineapple as far as taste goes.
@@coryc5545IMO it's way better than a normal pineapple. Much sweeter and jucier, it's also much less acidic meaning it doesn't numb your taste buds when eating them which is great
Your loss! haha, just kidding. If you don't live in the States or Canada, you can't even get these, since they are only sold to those countries. But there are plenty of other amazing fruits that you can eat, that haven't been bio-engineered. You might be surprised though, how many common fruits that you didn't know about at some point were bioengineered.

Awesome! Yeah I have been seeing smaller ones at my Local Kroger supermarket. Glad you got to try one!
I've always wanted to try this looks really good which grocery stores can you buy these at??
I have been seeing them in my Kroger stores. Other than that try an International supermarket if you have one near you.
I have loved pineapples for the last few years
Awesome!

I saw this pineapple at my asian grocery store , I will try to grab one next time.
That is awesome! Yes, please give it a try sometime if you get the chance.
What causes it to be Pink...you just touched on it but not really explained....

Amazing and rare pineapple!
Indeed!! :)
Usually they cost around $50 online and I don’t think it would be worth that much money haha, Your lucky to get a cheaper one!

I wanna try this!!! 😭

It’s not available in my country 😭 🇹🇹
