This is big, I felt my balls tingle with excitement. Updated both my prime go and 4. True game changer, the UI so much slickers and can now prepare playlists on the fly from streaming sites and search by BPM, preview etc. Will now buy the Akai MPC…this is truly MASSIVE!
The previous version showed the number of tracks in each playlist, now only the playlist name. Also it would be great to add a relocate missing tracks feature. Thanks for the video!
@@TheDjturkcan as with anything it is always possible but I don’t think Pioneer DJs target market are crying out for a feature like this which will probably affect how much resource is poured into it. Soundswitch being run as it’s own company helps make sure it’s always in development, rather than it being a part of a much bigger system.
@@djholland4235 That's pretty much the story with most things Pioneer at the moment. The main market they're targeting want familiarity. Not innovation. If it's smart features and better ways of doing things you're after then Pioneer's the wrong brand.
I am jumping up and down!!! These are things myself and other Denon Prime users have been asking for on the Denon forums for months!! Lighting control directly from the touchscreen??!! Unexpected and wholeheartedly welcome! The biggest issue I had with having a large library is the insane amount of time it took to search. Having a database that can handle larger libraries is my favorite and most need update. Looking forward to exploring the new features!
I’ve been reading the forums for a little while now and I knew this would be well received! There’s still a lot that the team want to get into Engine from what I’m told so the updates won’t slow down anytime soon, which is nice for the users!

Super cool feature! Im trying to connect a Prime 4 to Ableton on a Macbook to be controlled by Push. Is there a way that besides having the bpm synced also have the tempo quantized?
All I can say its a nice overhaul just put 18k tracks through the new software my gosh it just sailed through on the old one it used to shutdown constantly so for me the bits under the hood are most welcome. Regarding adding folder structure when adding new tracks just add to your folder structure but add the file or files straight to engine dj as it will just create another folder structure if you drop folder onto the folder in engine .and then just create a playlist represent your folder structure. As I just drop the folder in then do my playlist so much tidyer now
I have the SC6000M'S and I did the update, unfortunately we no longer have the dual stack waveform so you can mix on one deck. It has a nostalgic look, I hope they rectify this issue soon.
I like it but first impression it has some issues on the Prime Go: - You have to restart your controller to see BPM/Key on Tidal songs you just loaded. Used to be instant. - Was hoping that using playlist mode would read all the keys/BPM in your Tidal playlist. Not the case. - Switching between wave form feels glitchy. However super great that I can turn off crossfader, has slow fade and the options are so easy to find and toggle. Also there is a clock :). Overall really nice for Prime Go.
I actually miss having crates and playlists seperated, I would have crates of different genres with 100+ tracks in them, and then playlists with 10/15 tracks that were in specific orders to play sets in. Crates for all track free jamming, playlists for crafted sets.
I am missing a few folders. Recreated them, added some tracks to it. All good. Quit the app, restart it: folder gone again. Something's still not right in the database handling.... Beyond that, nice update. Every time I have to play on Pioneers I feel like I am missing so much. These Denon players are just so much more enjoyable and creative to do gigs with.
Won't happen, when you guys finally learn that NI policy sucks? They only want to sell their own hardware. Serato and VDJ are far more open. Sad truth :(
@@ImpactSpace that's not really true though. Hardware needs to be certified to be used with Serato and VDJ. Traktor works with any MIDI capable device. It's just that HID integration works two ways between developers.

Couldn't I simply use that time to assign my DMX devices and then simply continue using the basis mode (autoloops) with all future track which aren't analyzed in SS? I don't want to pay the $200 or subscription and only plan using some RGB par lights... thank you!

You can certainly connect de player to it, standalone..The rgb waveforms aren't abailable, but I don't think it'll be a problem to Denon to make a request and honor it. Cheers
That folder info got me. I been trying to mimic my external drive to serato folder but is just show one long playlist and not show sub folders, so frustrating. If engine 2.0 can do this am all in, curious will serato software in the computer will it do this if I upgraded to the engine 2.0 or do I still have to get the hardware to be able to use engine 2.0?

I was excited about using the new adjustable "crossfade" time, but no matter where I set the slider I cannot get the songs in the playlist to crossfade. Any thoughts or suggestions? You gotta export your Rekordbox library to XML file, then in Engine DJ make sure Rekordbox import is enabled in preferences. Point to your XML file, then update library. You’ll get asked about memory cues at this point. It’s free to download if you haven’t got it already!

Yeah, I am really sad about that as well. Most requested feature in the P2 subforum for a damn good reason, the P4 isn't portable enough for many users. I hope Denon and Serato at least arrange SDJ Lite with paid option for Pro, that would be the best compromise for everyone!
Updated my DJ Prime 2 earlier and am noticing the waveforms kind of playing the "catch up" now instead of being locked. Did one of my settings just reset or is this a little bug?
I believe the waveforms are now detached from the database, it’s one of the ways they managed to make the database so much smaller. I imagine these are being drawn live upon track load hense a slight delay. Are they lagging behind the music?
@@djholland4235 What I noticed (just did an 8-song mix) is that on the horizontal waveform screen, the top waveform's beat grid first lags behind the bottom, then catches up in the middle of the screen, and surpasses the bottom beat grid towards the end. I'll keep on testing, but hopefully that's just me, and no anyone else.
just to add, after testing, it is the newly added song that lags behind visually and then surpasses in the end, not the top-most. So when you add a new track, the beat grid will be off while the sound will stay en sync
Since I made this update I have to switch my x1800 mixer to mono mode for music to come of both controllers out of one or both speaker. On stereo mode one controller sound does not come out . Does anyone have this problem ? Is this normal.

Did you even read the basic instructions? Clearly stated that MCX isn't supported with the new update. It's outdated architecture. Stay with 1.6.2 or get a Prime unit.
@@raishallan I didn't see the wifi update either so I downloaded the device firmware update for my Mac to update the prime standalone via USB and it worked fine.
Yes as Baron said it won’t flash up on the units so just download the update from engine DJ website for your specific player and then do what you would normally do when updating via usb or laptop/computer
I updated two days after the release day and I lost all my bpms on tidal tracks that I had played already. They were always there before anytime I turned on the deck and played.
I don't have any Denon gear, but I'd really like to try out this software. Maybe I could add a SC6000M to my setup. Having a SC6000M with my Reloop RP8000 MK2 might work out okay. I'd also like to have a SC6000M to play around with.
Correct, all Philips HUE lights will work. Philips HUE lighting effects are fairly basic compared to DMX, but this will be improved in the near future.
@@mixxterdj it’s something that’s been requested. But the big thing about the new software is that it’s a complete rebuild. They say that it’ll be a better platform for them to add things to, so I don’t imagine it’ll be that far off.
For some reason whenever I switch my unit into computer mode to do the update it just gets stuck. I’ll work on it later unless anyone knows what I might be doing wrong?
@@compositecomposure yeah true, but I still practice with that technique every day hoping it gets better with more data/algorithms like with any AI... maybe they'll add it later but also maybe not, coz it's currently quite computationally expensive on CPU/GPU
its a shame this gear seems great but id perosonally be having a ''go'' on it or just playing about due to how the industry standard is set most djs will sadly stil be geared into pioneer im trying to get the cdj3000 when there back in stock but these seem alot better yet im kinda forced into my choice
Lighting control must be interesting for some fun, although it has nothing to offer for an advanced setup, compared to a proper dedicated hardware and software.

A little hack for any application that you need to have a day time mode on is to invert your computers colors while you’re using it and then just switch it back when you’re done
Same here.Had the chance to play on these players and don't like them that much.All these gimmick features will not make them a better product.Still feel the pioneer gear more reliable imho.Don't really understand why they pushing the internet part that much, would you really take the risk and rely on it while playing a gig? These players look great, the built quality is awesome apart from the rubber buttons which are a big Nono to me, but choose pioneer players over them anytime let that be cdj 3000 or 2000 and even the 900 nexus.

Yeah you didn't lose it you just need to shift + view again because 2.0 wipes out your settings from 1.6.2.

Does the lighting control work with the aux input on the Prime Go?
Works with go, not sure how it would work with Aux though. Probably needs a beatgrid.

In 2.0 desktop DJs now can import either Memory Cues/Loops or Hot Cues/Loops when importing rekordbox tracks into Engine DJ!

I don’t believe there ever will be Serato Prime 2 support. This isn’t a Denon DJ decision either, it’s a Serato one.

Philips Hue lights work over WiFi, no adaptor needed. The dongle is only for DMX light fixtures!

Plug Force in via the aux and use the Force cross fader to mix in and out sequences of beats, synth lines, samples etc

There are no firmware updates for the 8000, its End of life.
I think it’s the end of the road for the MCX, what’s available now is all you’ll get I’m afraid.

Correct, all Philips HUE lights will work. Philips HUE lighting effects are fairly basic compared to DMX, but this will be improved in the near future.

@@mixxterdj it’s something that’s been requested. But the big thing about the new software is that it’s a complete rebuild. They say that it’ll be a better platform for them to add things to, so I don’t imagine it’ll be that far off.
For some reason whenever I switch my unit into computer mode to do the update it just gets stuck. I’ll work on it later unless anyone knows what I might be doing wrong?
You need to place the unit in firmware update mode not computer mode. Head to the preferences in the unit to reboot into firmware update mode.

@@compositecomposure yeah true, but I still practice with that technique every day hoping it gets better with more data/algorithms like with any AI... maybe they'll add it later but also maybe not, coz it's currently quite computationally expensive on CPU/GPU

most djs will sadly stil be geared into pioneer im trying to get the cdj3000 when there back in stock but these seem alot better yet im kinda forced into my choice

I just did the update on my sc6000’s the waveforms are far less detailed and sexy. What gives?
Waveforms are actually more truthfully represented now where previously there was graphical smoothing to make the waveform look cleaner
Lighting control must be interesting for some fun, although it has nothing to offer for an advanced setup, compared to a proper dedicated hardware and software.

A little hack for any application that you need to have a day time mode on is to invert your computers colors while you’re using it and then just switch it back when you’re done

Same here.Had the chance to play on these players and don't like them that much.All these gimmick features will not make them a better product.Still feel the pioneer gear more reliable imho.Don't really understand why they pushing the internet part that much, would you really take the risk and rely on it while playing a gig?
These players look great, the built quality is awesome apart from the rubber buttons which are a big Nono to me, but choose pioneer players over them anytime let that be cdj 3000 or 2000 and even the 900 nexus.
