- Today I'm showing you how I made an ornate boot jack from a piece of #reclaimedwood oak. This would be great for a beginner #woodworker, as the basic shape could be cut out with a coping saw or jigsaw. But since I got all these other #woodworkingtools, I thought I might as well use them. So just sit back, relax, and watch this nonsense happening with some relaxing #woodworking #asmr. If the heel cut is confusing, then you probably didn't watch my #shorts video where I show how to cut any size hole with a router. You can get caught up here. • #shorts - Drilling Hol...
The plans and printable template for the boot jack are available for free from the Woodworker's Guild of America here: #freeplans #howto

As you'll see in the video, I modified the design slightly, and did some unnecessary engraving because I can.

I'll be honest, until the last second i still had no idea what a boot jack was! Now I need one. Love it!
Pretty sophisticated method. Impressive machinery. I make mine much more rudimentary with more simple tools., just bandsaw, router, small hammer, stapler…and that’s it. Maybe some have your tools, but likely more don’t. Good job altogether.
Cool project. I'm going to try it out. Thanks for the plans!
That's great to hear. I hope to inspire people to make something, and I hope I get to see what you make soon!
Hi Angus, thoroughly enjoyed the video bro 👍
Would love to know what kind of finish you used? Oil/varnish/laquer?
- from my exploration into this topic, specifically looking at durability/longevity/waterproofing there seems to be alot of conflicting viewpoints do you have a personal preference?
I love the tool sounds 😍 #asmr #woodworking
My neighbor might disagree with you 😆, but thanks!

You should do more videos like this. I love the tool sounds and the music 🎶
Thanks for the feedback. I may try this again. I've got a project in mind that would be perfect in this format.
