I am working on paying off my debts first before I come there. I figure a year. But may also depend on the Election if I come sooner.

It seems to me that some people here in the US or half of the people, in this case, the election season.These people need to travel to see more of life perspective rather than cave perspective.

If you're a foreigner and working remotely, why would you want to live in BGC? It's just a completely boring, commercialized bubble, like Disney World. There's no flavor and no cultural mojo. It's just a playground for foreigners and the tiny segment of rich pinoys. It's way more interesting in the provinces. Sure, there are minor annoyances once you get outside the bubble. But the life is simpler and more carefree.

The media will squash anyone that's not. 8 years of Clinton-worse off. 8 years of Bush- worse off. 8 years of Obama-worse off. 4 years of Trump-worse off. 4 years of Biden-worse off. None of these guys from both parties made us any better as a country. America has been on a downward trajectory for decades and voting didn't help one bit.
I'm living here for the summer. Couldn't agree more. Although I'm in the southern edge of Manila (Alabang). The people are amazing. The only thing I would say is that the food isn't great. It's a lot of rice. A lot. Food here is more to fill you up rather than what you would find in terms of spices elsewhere in SE Asia.
Don’t forget to mention that people there pretend to be high end people when they’re not. Also the insane corruption in that country. Like they say…. Ignorance is bliss… pls stay that way

Thai food by the way, doesn't have to be overily spicy ..ask and they are happy to tone it down. Try Indian Lamb Curry ...food you'll die for. Gentle respectful people, long as you stay away from the toxic areas where American ex-pats gather. I'm an American; I much prefer Asians, they're non-confrontational. Having said that, is there some sort of dystopian competition to find the two most unhinged and unpresidential (for different reasons) candidates while doubling down on corporate pay to win Citizens United legalized bribery? In every crisis, the rich get richer and our freedoms and the level playing field that makes free market competition productive, erodes. Increasingly politicians choose their voters, and not the other way around. Watching this circus might be better with some distance. . .
Start visiting provinces like San Juan, and La Union if you wish to try a party-vibe beach haven that is close to Manila or Baguio City in the Cordillera Province for a cooler climate.
