The great thing is that in the package you get extra screws so if you do sheer off a couple, you simply replace them. Sarge, you might do a follow-up on this video. The cable at the transducer needs to be several inches extended out (8-9 inches) Also, ask Fishing Specialties to send you their Perspective ram mount. It works great. Very quick change over from forward, down and perspective views. Nice. You can purchase a bag of 100 screws from FS for only $20. Cheaper than a trip to the hardware store. I tend to risk break off while docking. I'm a one person fisherman.

LOL I saw it in person this last weekend. A guy did not have the chain on and ran it into the dock and it went in the lake. I am only using two screws on mine now so I can sheer them off a few times but I already planned to order more, would rather have them and not need them! Thanks for watching.

When you use the fishing specialties pole, use the transducer mount that comes with the LS. It screws into the bottom of the pole and is a zero degree. If you mount it to the side, you will need to purchase a zero degree mount. Happy Thanksgiving!

I can show you how to make it, but it would not be good for you or anyone. I was about to the point that it was going to have to totally be rebuilt. The 45 at the top was wearing out as I took the top pole off each time so when I would turn it, the arm would also turn giving me a false direction.
I think you are asking if it will stay in one direction when trolling. The answer is if you are going slow to moderate speed it will stay in the direction pointed. At higher speeds it might turn. If you are wanting one that does not move I would consider using one on the trolling motor. With the type fishing I do I don’t want to be looking one way each time I move as I am scanning side to side looking for structure and schools of fish while moving. Good question Sir and hope I gave you the correct answer.

@@vaschier72 I would say about 50% speed. To be honest I changed to the Beatdown Outdoors mount. This is a great mount, but the beatdown allowed me to do a few things that were better for me. As long as you have this locked in place I would say about 50%. If you go too fast, the stress will break the plastic screws and the base plate might separate.
It can be mounted anywhere and any side. The problem is that if I had put it on the other side, I could not pull my trolling motor in without taking off the mount. I do not want to do that each time. So because of that I went with the right side of the boat.

I have seen several people with that setup. I personally would be lost fishing on the other side but that is me! ha ha. Think it would be a good deal, especially with 2 people on the boat!

I mainly crappie fish. I put the pole on that side because it is just easier to put it on the side of where things are already. I started out with my home aid pole on that side so I am used to it. Additionally the steps on the trailer bring me up on the other side. I just try to keep as much as possible out of the way of where I walk.
That was done 2 years ago. I have moved to be better mount, the Beatdown Outdoors Breakaway. Much easier to use, discount code is in my videos, but ATTR10 saves you 10%.
the mount is held on with screws to the plate mounted on your deck. The only time it will move (the plastic screws will break) is if it hits a solid object. The fast trolling will not put enough resistance to make it move.

The great thing is that with those two screws with the knobs, you can take the entire thing off in seconds. I will do that for transportation then put it back on when I get to the lake. May want to order some extra plastic screws. I’ve sheared mine off twice. One time broke 2 screws, other time sheared all 4 screws. Works as designed.

Why did you measure back from the trolling motor? Does it have to be mounted on the port side? Thanks!
