This is interesting. I will not criticize, I just never had all this equipment back 45 and 55 years ago. If it works for you, that is great. Enjoyed watching your film!
I say this is a well thought out process !! I enjoy cutting and splitting firewood but when you sell it or need alot to burn, either way this well take care of both of those ! I say GREAT job beats using a maul by a long shot !! That will split some big chunks !!
I like your vertical splitter. I had the same concept in mind with the twin rams. I was going to use 1" plate and add knifes to the outfeed side. Your tumbler looks bad ass as well. Is your box wedge a custom built?
i like ur added feature. and the young man climbing over the top of the rollers everytime to hook the rounds is certainly getting a workout for sure.lol i think i would be practicing to make a self hook in time. thanks for the video. question-in the back ground-what is that building? looks to me like a corncrib like my pap had when i was a kid-only urs is way bigger.
ha! i thought i seen a push mower sitting in one of the shots of the video, but never dreamed it was a repair business for lawn mowers. thanks for telling me.
Skate champ the tumbler helps clean the firewood of dirt and wood chips we pick threw it later for tinder and we use a tractor to move the sawdust around back
The secondary splitter is great for splitting wood evenly and at a fair pace, but I've yet to see one that doesn't produce a crapton of debris. The tumbler is perfect for this. There is no waste in a firewood operation. The small stuff can either be used in his fireplace or it can go in the back garden to compost. Any gardener would be happy to have a mountain of wood chips and saw dust out of sight in the far back yard breaking down into soil for the years to come.
Looks very inefficient. And slow. Touching the wood too many times. Should only load on the lengths and haul away packaged material. Having it go into a stack is a wasted step too. Like your tumbler, but it is buried way in at the back. No easy access for machine to haul away waste. All very poorly designed.
