I make a lot of tulle petticoats and used to spend hours pulling up gathering threads by hand, the only benefit of that method is you can control exactly the amount of fullness you want, I have an attachment now which does 2x fullness only but it's so quick, love this video Susan , thanks!
There are so many videos how to use pressure foots use while do gathering or etc. but they never show the use of other wheel as tention, length or pattern selector wheel. You are the only person I got who shown the use of tension and length wheel👍Thank you very much. Now I am going to subscriber your channel.Love you Mem🎉
Brilliant, I make wedding etc gowns and use meters upon meters of gathered Tulle, the times I have sewn two/three rows of stitching, started pulling the thread and it breaks half way through!! 😡😡😡. Yours is the best video I have found. Shhhhhhhhh
Love love love, your advice, i am trying to use it for Light Face Ponti and im struggling to get a nice gather, granted the fabric bring a slightly thicker knit and its 2 layers instead of one. What advice you give me. I am trying to gather the side of a bra cup on a dress, fabric is rayon, nylon and spandex. Do i have to play with the tension more? i am using the same machine as you

Can you get the same result if you use the other gathering foot pedal ? It’s the one that gives you the option of holding another fabric on top while the bottom one gathers
I'm not sure if I can't see it. What type of machine do you have? Make sure you have a large stitch, and the tension is not too tight. Also, make sure you have the gathering foot on.
@@susaneliascouture i have sorted it now thanks, gone old school (pulling thread) still cant get the foot to work though, changed stitch length, done all of it still cant get it to work. Thanks for taking the time to read & comment xx

You can try the second trick to get more fullness if needed. Let me know if it works with your attachment:).

Another thing, you need to be slow during sewing, maximum stitch length and maximum tension,,this works
with me nicely...
Thanks

I'm not familiar with that foot
I want the video.
When sewing normal in my heavy singer machine, I keep tension number 4, will I keep this while gathering ?
You want to go to a 5
My gathering foot wont gather what am I doing wrong
