So nice to hear the birds. Since I've been feeding mine, they line up on my fence and watch me putting out the food then once I go back inside, they fly to the feeding station. I'm getting better at recognising the different ones as my previous knowledge was very limited. Think I only knew robins and seagulls! As I've got older, it's the simple things in life that give me the most pleasure.
You're lucky, Wendy. My birds seem to be very timid and they stay hidden away from me - maybe because they get bullied by the squirrels and they have to keep an eye open for the local sparrowhawk. I have become more knowledgeable about birds too, since moving to the country. We had dozens of goldfinches last year and greenfinches and chaffinches are regulars. Our most unusual have been nuthatches, partridges and a brambling - I'll be impressed if you have even heard of that last one. We drove to Rhayader in Wales to watch kites being fed - a farmer drives a trailer of meat to throw out on a field and about 200 kites gather in anticipation and then swoop down for the meat.
@@nikkonch My birds are just sparrows, starlings, blue tits, great tits, pigeons, robins and crows (which are enormous). I once had a sparrowhawk swoop down on a sparrow and the noise of the other birds was horrendous and quite upsetting. Nature is cruel at times. The birds disappeared for a few days. My brother and his wife live in the country and they have a lot of the same birds as you. I've not heard of a brambling but I'll ask them if they have when I next see them as they're both good at identifying birds. Bet seeing the Kites en masse was a great sight. I saw red kites when I was on holiday in Wales but nowhere near the amount that you did.
Beautiful…❤❤❤ nothing better than early morning in Spring and summer..
This is actually late evening, but I admit it's difficult to tell the difference!
@@nikkonch 😂😂sounds beautiful either way
