Just workout, eat healthy, educate yourself, meditate, dress well, work hard and smart for that promotion, network with others and invest your earnings smartly. This is it...keep it simple

Also, make sure to be generous, step in when there are fights, offer consolation to those in distress, be articulate, and be nice to little kids.

What's this aboot? Hierarchy! Dominance. The reality of dominance is if you want to dominate you best be prepared to win out in a fight over that someone. Cos if your trying to dominate a bear man with wit and intellectualism your a dead smart guy! Who's this helping? The less confident psychopaths in society?...

@@johnknight8152 Yeah. I think you missed the point, dude. Gaining "dominance", in the context of being a post-modern, "civilized" human being, doesn't mean you have to be anti-social or aggressive. It just means that you need to be assertive and learn how to set boundaries, and not let people walk all over you.

Perhaps tell a modern day slave that all they need to do to improve their situation is not let the gang master walk all over him or her. See how that works!

@@johnknight8152 You think the leaders of the Italian Maffia , Russian Maffia or the Yakuza can win against most people in a fist fight? No, they are all old men that are at least 60 years old. Yet I doubt you will live long if you pick a fight with them. This is an example of dominance in "the real world" as you put it.

not convinced that it is not just "power", the idea of power includes obligations, if a powerful person kills everybody he will not have power anymore. to rise to power you have to be nice to a good number of people. however the dominance hierarchy is still more or less tyrannical by nature and it is there to keep those in power in power as long as possible. even if there are no revolutions, the people at the bottom hate it, and the only reason they don't fight is because they know they are very likely to lose and end up in a worse state. just because "balance" is maintained by an implicit threat it does not mean that it is well "balanced". it is only well balanced from the perspective of those who are at the top, like the ancient Egyptian empire lasting for hundreds of years. but for those at the bottom it is everything but balanced. it is like when I have to go to a family party where everyone is rich except me, I am civil, I take my place at the bottom of the food chain because I don't want to start a war I know I'm going to lose, this may be maintained for decades, but this does not mean that it is not tyrannical, I hate it and will continue to fantasize about becoming richer than everybody so that they will feel stupid for having counted me off, stepped on me and having treated me as if I was an inferior being. but then I would just become part of the tyrannical elite myself and perpetuate its evil. one fact is certain, the dominance hierarchy is very much evil, anybody who does not believe this has not really been at the very bottom.

How so? It's perhaps a poor choice of words to use "dominance", but there is definitely a clear & cut hierarchical structure within all human societies.
