Good video and what I really appreciate is the fact that you wrote clear to all that "the bolt must be tided up on normal suspension working position (with the wheel on ground and not on jack!!!)" This is very very important!
smart guy, I have got an citroen c5 x7 too, hydroactive. I will must to do the same very soon probably the same problem. I´ve got a sound in my front left tire when I stand up the suspension and my steering wheel is not straight. nice video mate congrats¡¡¡¡
Hi i have a c5 x7 without hydraulic. I want to change one of the 3 torx bolts because the owener bevore me cracked one bolt. It was very dificult to place the hub bushing because there are much tension on the wishbones. I only used one car jack and the whloe wheel alignment streches. What can i do better? How to but the long bolt back i place of the hub bushing. I punshed and push in every direction very heavy. Is it important to place the car in driving position bevore fasten the long hub bolt? What is the torque? Thx
Hi. Use spring compression tool to release its tension on suspension and eveything should be easy. Yes, car should be on the ground by itself before fastening that bolt.
Mine plates are also bending... now I am jacking car to one totally bent plate, I need to strighten it. I place safety stands under susspension mounting points.
Is this necessary to replace if current ones are worn ? replacing front lower control arms as garage said they are wearing tyres out but do I need to do these hub carrier bushings or do they not affect the tracking ? thanks
Lower bushing of the hub will affect vertical wheel angle and could cause tyre wear. So, they should be replaced. Its a good idea to replace control arm bushings also, they do not cost much. I would not replace whole control arm, only bushings.
It would be making noises before it goes that bad so it could wear tyres. Check and repair the susspension ir any problems is found and then do the aligmnent after the susspension is perfect.
It has only started making a knocking noise but was wearing the tyres away before the noise started. Could it be from the bearings at the bottom that are held on by the 3 torq bolts?
If there are a lot of excesive movement then yes, it can be out of position and wear the tyre. But i have not had any tyre wear due to this bushing when it had failed nor because of that bearing. Something in the susspension is not straight.

Excellent improvisation on making up your own tool for the job.

Thank You My friend, you have great skill and or a good teacher
That's the smartest way of doing that 👍😊

Thank you! I have a Citroen c5 that can’t get any axle carrier replaced because they’re no longer produced😢
Perfect tutorial, thanks!
Już mi się 5 śrub ukręciło przy tym sposobie a tuleja dalej się trzyma w tym samym miejscu

75 Nm should be the torque strength value for tightening of bushing bolt, if anyone wonder
Thanks
Superbe vidéo 👍
Inscription Ok! ✌
nice job
Where do you push up with the jack, my push up plates benged everytime. Where do you underplace the safety stand?
Mine plates are also bending... now I am jacking car to one totally bent plate, I need to strighten it. I place safety stands under susspension mounting points.
@@rustoil thank you, also for your good tutorials! I also have a c5 x7 and i try do everything by myself

No, you will not be able to drive the car without them.
👍
My 2008 c5 front tyres are wearing away badly on the inside. Could this bush be the problem? Thanks

I've been experiencing this wheel knock sound from the front right tire whenever I get on a bumpy or broken road. Could it be the bushings failing?
Its possible, but you have to check.
@@rustoil Hey, thanks for the reply. Indeed it is the bushing failing. Mind if I ask you what tool did you use to get the old one off?
I used just a piece of metal tube, threaded rod and a head socket, did not buy any special tool.
Do you know part number for this bushing thanks
Its in the description🙂3657 04
@rustoil thanks I didn't read properly I got one but looks slightly different hopefully works thanks for your video is really helpful
Thank you !
good tanks
For Citroen C5 2008 serie 3 diesel 140 și good?
yep
Can you add oem number this bush?
Yeah, oem number is 3657 04 :)
Is that a home made bush press?
Yep, i have described at the end of the video.
@@rustoil yes, i noticed a few moments later :)
Excuse me, I don't speak English, can you tell me the name of the piece you changed, thank you.
Hi. It is a lower hub carier bushing.
@@rustoil ok thank you!!!!
what strength Nm?
I tighten everything by hand.
@@rustoil I mean the strength with which you pulled the sleeves
I dont have an idea, did not meassure, sorry. But it is not hard, can be done by hand and regular spanner.
@@rustoil ok, thx
Co to za klucz udarowy??
Just an ordinary impact wrench from china :) fits 18v makita batteries, now can be found for 30euros without batteries.

Thank you for the information
No problem ;)
Okey on the right, but on the left please don't do that !!! The propeller shaft falls out of the transmission and Oil lost!!!
Nope, transmission fluid does not escape if driveshaft is removed for this transmission.
