When comparing Citroen or PSA group body protection, rust stuff, it’s minimal to german cars manufactured pre 2010. Still, not an easy job to do without proper tools, props to you for great video!

Unlike in the front you don't have to remove the sensor in the back. Trough that rust it will often break while removing. It will not interfere with the bearing. Just clean it. You also may not remove the mudguard. Cut that inner ring of the bearing with a small cutting blade of a Dremel and it comes of hiting it with the chisel. Offical workshop instruction for thightning is 250 Nm ± 25 Nm. Thanks for showing! ;-)
I just did not want to brake the sensor when removing the bearing. Well, i had the puller so I did not need to cut it, wit puller its kinda satisfying process ;)
I Changed my C5 X7 2008 in the UK using this method. My manual bearing puller method was slightly different but worked. Also, did the full maintenance following your other video. Enjoyed both videos. Can you make one on brake fluid change? That will be super.
Hi. I have just replaced both brake calipers on rear, had to prime a lot of fluid, so some of footage will be the same for replacing the fluid. Hope to edit video soon. But it is really hard to find spare time when two little girls are ar home :D
Jeder sagt was anderes in der Diagnose. Bin richtig verzweifelt 😭. Tolles Video, hat Spaß gemacht zuzuschauen ❤
Is it possible to open up the new bearing without damaging it, in order to add some extra grease? I often find that new spare parts like bearings and joints come with too little grease, which I believe reduces (perhaps deliberately) their life span. On e.g. ball joints I always try to lift the rubber gaiters and fill up properly with good grease.
Hi, thanks for your support. No, it is not possible to add grease. It fails not due to lack of grease, but because the sealing fails to protect the bearing from water... it gets into the bearing and balls starts to corode.
I would dissasmeble eveything holding the wheel hub ant take it to the toolshop. But wheel removal tool is not expensive, probably cheapier that it would cost to swap the bearing.
@@rustoil My uncle owns a workshop, so he can do the job for free. I just need to remove the wheel hub and bring it to him. Do you have any videoes that feautures calipers and faults here? I have some issues with heating calipers(on opposite side of the wheel bearing issues) where the piston isnt moving back properly/the handbrake seems to be somewhat stuck on one side. Mechanical handbrake.
So just remove all bolts and take the wheel hub to the shop. You have to bare i mind that suspenssion bolts are stated as one-use and you should replace them with new ones. I have seen cases when suspenssion arm bolts snapped...
@@rustoil I ended up using your video as a guide on laptop while doing the job. Worked nicely. And a lot simpler than removing the entire hub. Spent about 2h (mostly because there was issues removing the old bearings inner part). Thanks
hi . can u tell me if it is a good car for the money ? you are working a lot on it it seams .... is it worth ? it is expensive repairs in your opinion ?
Could all that rust be due to salt on the roads? You live in a place with much snowfall, and it is known that vehicles in such places have issues with salt and rust. That metal....ahm.....piece of sheet.....was realy bad.
Yes, that brake disc cover is coroded because of humid, salty roads. Car is from Denmark, now it is in Lithuania, so, it gets its dose of salt every year...
Hi. To release the handrake you have to press down the brake and then press the handbrake switch for few seconds. Handbrake will be released. Also, if you will disable an automatic handbrake in the dash menu, it will not apply automatically after engine is shut down.

Regarding the heat shield….I sandblasted mine and powdercoated them after. Best method for saving them in a long run. Cheers

Bearing manufacturers actually state overgreasing as the main cause of bearing failures.
How would you go on on removing the wheel hub to have a toolshop use their press to swap wheel bearings?
