Well back when I was rocking an iPhone 11 Pro max I switched to the One Plus.... and the letdown was the SOFTWARE not the hardware. I got tired after 6 months of random apps not working or the need to reboot the phone to connect with my car Android car whatever.

I pre ordered the s24ultra and completely regret it. I'm wanting to sell the samsung and go back to an iphone. The thing that really irritates me is the corners! Why on earth a phone this size has sharp squared off corners is beyond me. Can't even get it in and out of pockets easily. It's just become.a massive pain to use this phone. If you know anyone who would want to trade an immaculate s24 ultra in titanium grey 512gb for an iphone 15 pro max let me know. 😊
By the way, nice video. 👍🏻

As someone who has a Samsung phone and an iPad and a Mac (since 2020), I simply don’t understand all this brand competition that marketing has taught people that it’s one brand of device or the other. I couldn’t give a Flying F if you’re Apple one minute, Android this minute, next generation Samsung Fold in July, possibly next generation Pixel, and then iPhone16 in October… you’re a tech reviewer, after all. But many commentators seem to have their knickers in a twist over the thought😆. But I do appreciate your efforts to give it a really good go. Because most Apple fan-boys who review Android phones are laughably absurd because unless you spend at least 3 months to work out an Android phone properly without having an iPhone on standby in your back pocket if you’re balls deep in the Apple ecosystem, you’re not giving yourself the chance to work out all the things and new ideas (end of rant😆).
The reality is, you can still stay in the Apple ecosystem when you get a Samsung phone. I wasted a lot of time thinking I had to leave everything Apple when I had Multiplatform devices, and I wasted a lot of time experimenting with third party apps… but at the end of the day, keep your favourite Apple apps, and it’s all about Syncing.
Simply back up your Samsung photos and Files to Google Drive, and on your Apple devices download Google 1 to sync iOS photos to Google photos as well as Apple calendar to Google calendar - and adding Google drive to your Apple devices. The hardest thing for me when I left iOS for Samsung a few years ago, while still having an iPad and Mac, was trying to find things to replace Apple apps that I was used to, and loved! I eventually realised that I didn’t have to. I’m still in the Apple ecosystem, but I’m also in the Google ecosystem and the Microsoft ecosystem and a lot of third parties. Syncing iOS photos to Google photos, and syncing iOS calendar to Google calendar was a game changer. I eventually, over time, moved to other apps. It takes time to forget how we used to do things, and to learn new ways that work and link devices together. I still use iCloud, plus Google Drive, and simple drag and drop files between each other on my Mac. Downloads on my Samsung phone are backed up to Google Drive, meaning I can access them on my Mac and my iPad. Same with photos and video. Your iPad is key here. Bring up a photo or video via Google photos (that you’ve taken on Android phone, that Samsung photos has backed up to Google Photos) on your iPad, and then “save to device”. It is now in iOS photos. You can now access via Apple photos on your Mac. Likewise, your entire iOS photo and video history is now accessible on Google photos on the Samsung phone.
Even if I went back to iPhone with the new generation in October, I’ll still continue syncing so that I can continue to have the freedom to change devices in the future. Good luck with your experimenting, I’ll still be here for your next one😊

Several apps help to finalize for printing and rendering. It is a massive time and paper saver. Also for 3D sculpting in Nomad. Those are some main functions that really help and motivate the creative processes for me. I totally understand the gimmick aspect if not using for such things. @CliftonVella 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@shakz7074 I agree about the simplicity, and most apps are just better on the iPhone as it takes less resources to support them, so devs can focus on quality. However the iPhone becomes boring pretty quickly. You can't change launcher, you can't change icon packs unless each icon is a bookmark (and then you can't get notification bubbles). Not to mention notification management, that's stupidly bad on the iPhone, worse audio quality through BT as Apple for some weird reason chose to stick with AAC rather than something like aptX, AND the worst thing of all ... Apple doesn't give any of their 1st party apps any love ... the mail app interface hasn't changed since ios 14, the calendar app does not integrate reminders and it's widget is not even interactive (which Apple touted as the stand out feature in IOS 17), the Podcasts and Music apps are missing basic stuff like auto add to up next, etc. You're still paying for these apps when you buy an iPhone, so having them lacking so bad behind the competition in 2024 is absolutely unacceptable. See where I'm going ? 😄

      @michael.barlow 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I was shocked, I thought my SMS would transfer but not iMessage but even those all transferred over! Only thing that did not is iMessage reactions, as the iMessages were regarded as SMS on the new phone. A couple voice notes (from 2019) became corrupted but the rest were fine.
Everything else came over fine, call logs, contacts, pictures, I did have to do some organizing with photos because iOS allows you to have a single photo file in multiple albums whereas Android moves the file to a different folder for each album causing some duplicates - I had to choose a single album for each image, and "Tags" in the samsung gallery work in much the same way albums do on iOS, so I set that up as I preferred it... (I have an album for each phone I've owned and group the photos that way, among others)
Smart Switch will even download all your equivalent apps from the Play Store and says it'll transfer the data but I skipped that, I didn't know if there'd be any redundant / incompatible iOS related files that got moved and did not want clutter so I did the apps myself.. but yes its not like it used to be they really do make it painless. I do not know if any health data will transfer, that's one thing I am not sure of, but I just starrted over as I dont have a watch anyway and the phone tracks my steps but thats about it

My S24 Ultra is on the way, in part due to your previous review. As to the pen, I think the remote shutter button will be a big help. I often find myself trying to take a photo with one hand, holding the phone high, or out while trying to tap the shutter release with a free finger and not drop the phone. The other hand/arm being used to stabilize myself or prevent falling on my face. Being able to get the phone in position for a photo and being able to release the shutter with the other hand will be a boon. I also see an overall increase in photo creativity with a remote release. As to using it as a pen, it will probably get as much use as the pen on my iPad. That only gets used to add info to a photo.

For the past month I’ve been using the S24 (SD Version) along side with my iPhone 15 Pro Max for a month (as a long time Apple user). Aside from the customisation, I grew to appreciate both platforms for their pros and cons. iOS UI smoothness is really still unmatched by any android phone. It’s not the smoothness within the app, iOS is way smoother transitioning between apps and the UI transitions are so robust, you rarely find any flaws. For the Samsung, aside from it being more customisable, I find that it is way more productive (ability to access the clipboard, DEX Mode, etc.). Also it allows apps to really run in the background (ie. Even for the built in WiFi sharing, in iOS it would turn off in the background after a while to conserve battery). As for the 120hz refresh rate, Samsung gives the full refresh rate and on the iPhone, it feels like it’s in 80hz to 90hz most of the time (again probably to conserve battery life). Anyways, my point is my experience enables me to appreciate both platforms even more. I think I would keep using both (although it would require me to carry 2 phones around)

Once you truly understand how to use Androids customisation features to your advantage by making full use of apps like Samsungs Goodlock and Nova Launcher, it makes iPhones seem like a bit of a joke.

What about notifications consistently late vs the 100% reliability of the iPhone? I had an S24 for 2 weeks and I returned it as Gmail and many other apps delivered late notifications, showing up only when unlocking my phone. I ended up not trusting the S24 at all

That's an Android thing and it's a feature. Doesn't matter which android you use, even the Pixel ones.
This is also one of the reasons i am going Apple for the first time next year after being on Android Basically forever.
Wait until you get failed payments or not supported payment methods through Android. You get to have some serious trust issues with the device.

I was a Samsung guy from the Galaxy S3 through the S20 FE. I also had the Note 9 and The Note 10 Plus.
My journey into Apple began with the iPad Air 4. Then I got a M1 MacBook Air…and then an iPhone 13 and Watch SE-1. Last year I added an iPad 9 base model and the iPhone Pro 15.
I have no desire to ever go back to Google, Windows, Samsung or Android! Love the Walled Garden!

Regarding the copy/paste to other devices (android/ or samsung) there are apps and samsung has its own well build in the eco system its called Quick share and from my opinnion its does everything what airDrop does and actually quite quicker, Its just THAT fast
You can use quick share pushing down the panel options at the upper right side and you will find it there, it can also copy/ paste to other devices really

My god you’ll be using Windows next. I went the other way around from OnePlus to the iPhone. I found very little difference if I’m being honest. Love Airdrop and shared clipboard (when it works) but miss simple things like not being able to organise my icons how I want them and being able to close all apps in one go. Why iOS doesn’t have this is beyond me. I also find that the iPhone doesn’t always detect taps, it’s no where near as accurate as the OnePlus was. If you watch anyone use an iPhone on TH-cam you’ll see them tap more than once often. Not when typing just in the OS. If Apple could sort these minor announces out I’d be 100% happy as it stands though I’ll stick with as once set up I find very little difference as I said.

But the only reason id buy the s24ultra is for the stylus. If not for that I'd buy an asus zenphone 11 as that has the headphone jack and is less money, or a pixel as that has better camera tech, or id buy a sony cos im a weirdo that really likes sony phones for their design language, the headphone jack and the micro sd.
