Its that attitude towards business that gives China a competitive edge. They will try so hard to get a sale. This is compared to north America where as a small OEM it's like pulling teeth to be able to buy stuff.
We need to change our business attitude in N. America where the big company's start trying to earn the sales from the small businesses again.

Not just them, any truck that is potentially traction limited will benefit from the extra 10-20% tractive force*. When they're running "bob tail" the front axle could be adding 50%, or more, which can make a big difference when pushing through soft, slippery ground.
I'm thinking of the Aussie road trains, as they operate a lot on loose ground, sand, and gravel, and when you're hauling 100+ tons, even a modest 'jump up' can cause issues with not quite the drive needed from the rear axles.

the powered axle on a Log trailer would be a total game changer, especially for a self loader, cause we're always getting called into some janky back yard with no road... little bit of push from the trailer would make life soooo much easier. be better if it say was made with smaller drive motor, to save weight, and you really don't need massive power on the trailer, just a wee bit of assistance does wonders.
A lift axle with independent drive motors, would be super skookum easy addition to a traditional diesel truck too... small set a batteries, you could just use it for cruising speeds or a boost on hills etc.

there is not really a need to. 1/2 usually have independent front ends with a differential right in the middle. Just replace the differential with small electric motor. In a Semi you have the engine hanging low in the middle where it's had to place an differential. The front end does not need a lot of power - might get away with just flanch a electric motor to an existing differential in the space where the small drive shaft from the transferase usually would sit.

Driving trailer axles limit the damage to roads. Back on the farm in the seventies we used an old truck complete with front axle for a trailer. Was a beast to pull with our modest 2wd tractor. We hooked up the pto thru a gearbox via a dri eshaft, flipped the diff to get the correct rotation and with a decent load would go places you would never think. Stopped the tractor ripping up the roadways and fields.

If yall get well setup on truck production i think the next thing yall should try
    Jet engine + electric car
A small jet engine can give plenty of power to recharge a car and also be main power source. In Aviation our jets already are used for power generation via APUs.
In the past Chrysler attempted a jet engine car and it failed due to the costs and idling issues but with a electric you can make the jet run at the same speed continuously I believe its a really good idea now especially if you guys pull a ford and target lower middle class americans. Tesla is a nice car but the extra junk makes it a rich person car and not something for normal people.

As a former oilfield worker, you get a hybrid twin-steer out there, you'll be winning the oil patch. Essentially Topsy with another steering axle, long frame and service deck with tow crane to move bowsers, boilers, shacks and whatever else around a drilling site means you get the work. Reliability in all weather and ground conditions is paramount. That tour was awesome! A part of me wishes we had our manufacturing up to snuff in Canada so we could make that here. But that's another political shit show I don't need to explain to you folks that are going through that at home.

Hopefully the lid to that axle switch has pockets in it that would hold the switch to one side or the other and prevent it from moving when the lid is on. It looked pretty easy for him to move that, and logging trucks arent exactly on the smoothest of roads or treated so nicely from the loaders/unloaders.

    • @RVSparky
      @RVSparky 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@EdisonMotors Yep I understand that. However that could be replicated. There are furnace duct actuators that are an electric motor that wind up a spring in a gearbox fashion and hold open as long as voltage applied, as soon as voltage is lost the spring returns the mechinisum to closed state mechanically with no power. Although air has other uses such as riding airbags and whatnot as well.

Does the neutral mode physically disconnect the axle shafts from the electric motor stator? If not, how are you handling the HV unloaded power from the motor? Does it not cause overvoltage damage to the inverter? I understand if that information is proprietary, however, it's just some questions I have with that platform.

I know that most people are keyboard warriors. When the same $100 product is placed in front of you, the American product has an ultimate strength of 1000MPA, while at the same price, the Chinese product can reach 1500MPA. If you are a manufacturer, what will you choose?
I am just giving an example. The reality may be even more cruel. Because China has already sprinted towards Industry 4.0, while most Americans and Canadians still believe that China can only produce inferior products.
These keyboard warriors don't know that most of the electrical appliances, cars, industrial machine tools, and agricultural tools they use have parts from China. They think they are using domestic products and cheer for the quality of domestic products. It is very sad.
Besides, I live in Wuxi where they go.

I take it that the axles are very weather resistant , especially the steering axles. But. !!! would it be prudent to have some sort of shrouding around them to protect them from rocks and mud ,ice etc . From getting packed up with road debris, thus making it easier to keep clean !! Just something to think about when building off road units , branch or log pops up and takes out an important component. I have had a large branch pop up and take out a brake line on me before. And getting stuck in mud and rocks damage drive shafts.. So when you’re fabricating a new project together it’s something to consider…. Food for thought. !! Have a. Fun. Day.
