So glad you stopped by this video folks! I genuinely hopes this video not only lifts your spirits, but also gives you the tactics to find that dream job fast! Don't forget, Live Office Hours on Thursdays and new weekly videos so make sure to SUBSCRIBE. And, you know I love it when you drop your comments, feedback, and questions. I'm happy to help!
Thanks for explaining how to protect your mentality during the job search. I love your practical focus on how to keep your eyes on the high value work. I am huge fan of the Pareto Principle and how it can open our eyes to the 20% of activities that create 80% of our value. Shifting the needle to higher value work definitely can affect our emotional state. Thanks for the great video Andy!
Watching this after a few interview rejections 2021. I'm making a career change and stuck in the vicious circle of 'you need the experience to get the job that brings the experience'. This video explains exactly why I feel frustrated and negative, and I know the answer is to stay positive and keep trying. So a big thank you!
I have Engineering qualifications in the Oil and Gas capital of Europe and I haven’t been able to secure a job in that industry. This video is definitely highlighting my way of thinking.
not only are you genuinely interested in the success of people, but you have a fountain of actionable relevant knowledge. Well done Andrew. Is there an app or ecxel template to monitor the perfomence of each of the 5 matrices and consequently calculate an overall score to gauge if my job search perfomence is healthy
It really can be discouraging during the job-search process, but with these useful tips, we can expect our outcome to be more positive. Thanks for sharing.
I love how you highlighted the different limitations people feel. Network is definitely a huge one because a lot of the time, people do get jobs based on the connections they have or the people they know. But this doesn't mean it's the only way to get a job! Great video, Andy. Looking for a job can definitely be frustrating, especially at the start of your career or if you're thinking of making a career switch. You provide such quality information to those feeling stuck and you're definitely making a positive impact. Keep it up, cheers!
hi Andy... i had got recently 5 free scans on jobscan by which i edited with some keywords and the scan result against job dedcription of my resume is 17 % more i.e now 74%...i want to make it atleast 80 % as you suggested for ATS...thank you Andy sid!!
Andy, I love this! Such a great story. I'm a big believer in the importance of staying positive during the job search. Hey, and your leadership program sounds amazing. Super excited to learn more about it in the new year.
Thanks Heather! I've got a ZOOM focus group with around 20 people on Friday. People in the milewalk Academy who are interested in helping me conceptualize it! It'll start in January! :)
Love it ! , yeah, I always tell people who are looking for jobs, to find something that has opportunity and growth, to move up. So many people are in this situation whare their waiting to long, or maybe never get an ofer to move up, that's when its time to find something else. For me and probably most people, are trying to always trying to get to the next level, it's important to me financial, especially when it comes to retirement.
I wish I could join your job search bootcamp but some of us it is just out of the budget. It is a real shame because I love your energy and insight, which I need right now.
Such good insights! I already feel a little better! I already did the #companies and #people part of your metric, but I already reached out to them and got nothing in response and those that I did, I think I messed up my chance. Any suggestions on how to fix this!
Is there a template for recruiter when they respond no thanks. I have an idea of what to say but would live your input before I send it off. Please and thank you Andy.😊
It's difficult to be specific here because I'm not sure what the context is regarding why the recruiter said no thanks. Provide some specific insight and I'll do my best to give you a great answer!
@@andylacivita I got turned down for a job that I thought I had in the bag. Had 3 interviews but they decided to go with someone else. I watched your video "thank you letter after being turned down for a job". I went out with some class as you described. Thanks Andy. I will watch this video a lot in the next few days.
@@geraldchavez2405 Ah. Now I got cha. You read my mind. I was going to recommend that video to you. Glad you found it. And, glad you went out with class. That'll come back to you in spades!
I usually lie your videos, but this one didn’t do anything for me. It seems to assume the person doing this is a VP level well-experiences professional who knows a few companies through much experience that may be good. How does someone switching industries, with no knowledge of distinguishing companies, and at best qualified for a mid level position do this? How would you find a specific person buried inside 5,000 employees without spending a few days weeding through each individual at the company? It just feels like you already have to be in a good position to put this to use. Maybe I’m missing something?
Shaun, if anything, this is for the younger professionals every bit as much as the more tenured folks. I have college students doing this and they're crushing it. You can easily find whoever you need to on LinkedIn.
@@andylacivita So I've spent the past week or two combing your videos and really taking them to heart. I've hit a point where I'm starting to reach out to new contacts in my company list. My network is extremely small and focused almost exclusively in another industry and country. But I liked the part in your networking for unemployed people video where you said there's no excuses. I'm just unsure what to do with these new contacts once I open up a dialogue with them. Do I milk them for leads to a manager? Do I ask if they can put in a word for me? I think I'm struggling with understanding what advantage have I gained with the new contacts in my target companies that I didn't have before just applying cold turkey through the ATS. If you've put out any videos or addressed this elsewhere I'd be happy to give a look. I've just found that with the videos I've watched you get to that point and then kind of leave it off. (I imagine this is covered in your paid courses, I'm just not in a position to afford those atm but would LOVE to if I could. I think you're great). Also, I didn't expect a response from you. Thank you so much.
