Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands for 90% of the game: "This is fine"
I was too focused on watching London flip between Venice and Korea to notice Polynesia wiping the hell out of Korea.
ナナシさん London flipped so many times towards the end, at least 4 different Civs were fighting over it by the end
I appreciated how Istanbul and Constantinople were next to each other.
Red Judas Turks: well this is awkward. Byzantines: yeeeeaaaahhhh....
the game is not over, england's 2 admirals and workers are ready to strike at any moment
Don't forget their inquisitor who's hiding out of the screen. Nobody expects the english inquisition
Well how do 2 Great Admirals, a bunch of workers and an Apostle take over a whole nation with 15 or so developed cities? 😂
K Pounder r/woooosh
Easy coup
Venice did so well for a moment. I'm proud.
0:46 There is something funny about Byzantium's two cities being Constantinople and Istanbul.
you got that right.
The moment Carthage lost was the darkest hour
Damn. Seoul was a bloody fortress most of the time.
I never thought I'd see Venice be a major world power
That’s why aloha means hello AND goodbye!
Sweden be like "if we pretend we don't exist, maybe they won't notice us"
wrg, openx nmw
And then the immigration happened :P.
Was thinking in my head: "Venice got this!"
They hold there stand good...
RIP Venice
and then the Hawaiians destroyed them. :P
This is the first win for Polynesia on this channel
When Byzantium took Istanbul I felt that
Lovely that Byzantium took out the ottomans
I find it so frustrating that Britain literally never bothered to take advantage of their ships
Beautiful game by Polynesia, being Carthage's right hand man for years and then picking the exact right moment to emerge from its shadow and taking the game. Also good guy Korea for liberating Milan from the Venetians.
Thay coallition war at the end tho
Venice, Netherlands, and Korea all worked together and put up a damn good fight against polynesia
I love how the netherlands, sweden and portugal in the south are just like, okey we never win any of these guys, let’s just stay friends
the Netherlands at one point where actually succesfully waging war against polynesia, but still got overwhelmed.
Idk what you did different, but it seems to have made the game a lot more balanced and exciting (not just one civ steamrolling the rest), so please do it again! (Also, seeing Venice thrive and even make it to second was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in these ai videos ;) )
Byzantine: Not today, Ottoman.
how ironic that venice helped carthage kill the byzantines
I have two cities, one called Constantinople, another called Istanbul.
This game was epic. Proud of Venice
It's time for the Boat Mormons to shine!
Legit what was with constant gangbang against Constantinople/Byzantines. At one point Portugal, Netherland, Carthage, England, and Venice were all at war with them.
Probably because they attacked and took over two civs early
First time I see Polynesia actually doing something instead of just getting bullied around and spending most of the game with 1 or 2 cities.
I just want Venice to win one
IMPOSSIBLE
Unless they are on Deity and everyone else on settler of course 😂
That was close korea
Shoutout to the Indonesian Great General keeping the dream alive
Damn, was really rooting for Seoul to make a surprise late midgame push to victory. They had a tech lead but they didnt take it to victory while they had it.
Being an Italian, I was going for Venice since the start but actually thinking, I hope they win, but I don't think so and wow, I didn't expect them to last so long
Venice Can't really win since it can't settle cities nor can it directly annex them, only puppet cities or use their Merchants of Venice to yoink a city state
GypsySprite They can win because they can puppet state cities, even without annexing them they can still take over the world, but it's hard
The moment Carthage fell, I knew it was over.
That's like the opening line to a post apocalyptic novel.
>Venice founds Judaism
what a shock
Top kek
Byzantium defeating the ottomans. Nice!
I treat this as watching a sport, I get a 24 of beers, and sit down and watch them all the way through, always cheering and yelling, its fucking epic..
Had Carthage ever annexed Istanbul they could’ve made at least a decent navy in the south. With that combined with the land forces they easily could’ve taken Venice or Constantinople and been ready for Polynesia imo
I'd like to see that again but instead of ocean maybe some impassable terrain. It could turn into a cool tug of war
Constantinople couquered Standbul
and Tsargrad after this
*Venice takes Cities States
Greece: Bruh.
Maybe do one of these except replace thw water with mountains so the civs have to fight it out in a linear canyon.
I love how the british had some workers off to the side after they lost just like "please, let us live" for the rest of the game
Byzantium takes Istanbul ok
I think this is the first time I've ever seen Polynesia do well/WIN an AI only game, I was so shook
The ai always feels the need to leave a few units in the back recesses of their empire when they already have more then half of the world and it pisses me off 🤣
ALOHA
good comeback by Polynesia
You know what's funny, Constantinople and Istanbul are next to each other. If only there was a river with a bridge connecting them.
Venice bought city state after 1 min of video... money power... Wow, i've never seen Korea so aggressive in my games O_O
I always enjoy the earth AI only battles but I still enjoy these as well
Loving these bigger maps please
Moana has led her people to victory
I love how London changed side every turn xD
astodon it changed so many times that it reverted back to 1 pop for like 10 turns!
Kamehameha, listen, I love ya, but you are going fucking crazy.
İstanbul falls to Constantinople XD
No matter what, Carthage is always getting run over by an empire
Jumi same with Japan
KAMEHAMEHA!
okay you get a thumbs up just for that description
2nd place surprised me
Nice map
No city states for you, Alexander
Good guy Korea attacks the occupied Milan, liberates it instead of taking it for itself haha
That was awesome
I think that was a religious victory
This was impressive
>tfw byzantines reclaim istanbul
I loved when Carthage kept sending troops to Milan only for them to die on the mountains lol
Fitting that the Swedes tried to stay out of the war
Polynesia, of course.
0:38 Costantinople not Istanbul
Now its Costantinople not Istanbul
now a time paradox has Occurred and there is Now both Constantinople AND Istanbul
Aloha!
This is how Honolulu became a country.
This makes me curious, does anyone know why the AI never exploited the oil at sea? Seems like a huge advantage.
@EMH
Yeah, but why wouldn't they research it? In 2030 they surely can't be that far behind the curve.
@EMH
Yeah, but I'd have assumed that the AI would see planes as a very useful addition.
@@klobiforpresident2254 They don't. Civ AI has no idea what to do with planes.
Istanbul vs Constantinople hmm... Why not add Byzantium to that mix...
Constantinople is Byzantium.
@@atlasbailly5439 During the time of ancient Greece it was called Byzantium though.
@Albin Strahl The Byzantine Empire never referred to itself as Byzantium
@Albin Strahl Byzantium was the name of Nova Roma which was the name of Constantinople which was the name of Istanbul.
This thread makes no sense.
The Eastern Roman Empire aka Byzantine Empire aka stop bothering me was in the game.
Ah I think I get it now.
Istanbul and Constantinople are clones created by Theodore and Suleiman the immortals. Or was it Constantine and Mehmed?
That is not what I expected at all
I was for bysance
GGwp korea
constantinople fighting istanbul
civil war much
Greek vs Turks. nah.
Boom Dos No I mean they're the same city
Boom Dos because in this case theres two Byzantiums one of them owned by Greek one owned by Turks
@Quentin Lennox for some reason that makes me happy
LittleArmyNut Same city, that's been owned by 5 different warring cultures/civilizations. Istanbul is the most conquered city in world history.
Is there any way for you to put these maps on steam workshop? I'd love to play them.
There is a link in description, you can download map (from google drive) and place it in C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps, then map will appears in map list.
Constantinople and istanbul wow
How music background?
and somehow, Polynesia was the only slightly naval-oriented one that was able to do well
Jewish Venice? Looks like Shylock won after all
Search for: River of fundament
WP Honolulu, didnt thought they would win.
Кто-то очень странный сделал Константинополь рядом с Истанбулом.
선방했는데 아쉽네
Well... Maori completely won!
How was Milan liberated after being captured from Venice?
Korea conquer the city and be free them.
When Venice occupies a city via merchant, that city state becomes a non-crucial city. It shouldn't have been possible to be liberated. It is the only circumstance where you can raze a city state. That's why Julian's confusion is definitely understandable.
I always hated Venice because of that...like absolutely despised them
Мне кажется, или описание к видео это отсылка к произведению Филипа Фармера "Мир реки"?
Река Смерти.
my money was on greece
Songhai could've dominated if they were included.
dokdias they are there in the southwest, got killed real quick
Oh you're right!
졌잘싸..ㅠㅠ
수도를 못지켜서 망한거다
처음에 마드리드를 빨리 밀고 교토까지 밀었어야 하는데;
Was thinking the koreans were going to take this...
Heresy ! No Germany
Well, of course Polynesia was going to win this one. The map was mostly water.
None of their abilities are useful here. No ocean, no unclaimed land to explore, and resources too sparse to be building Maois. The extra embarkation sight is nice, but as I said, exploration isn't a relevant part of the game here. Your threats are your neighbors a few tiles to either side of you.
There's one other advantage they have, though. Being able to embark and move over water from the start means they can threaten anyone on the map from the very beginning, so they can pick and choose their targets from turn 1.
Is there any game where Portugal was strong?
The game of Real Life. Historians Favorite.
@@JonatasAdoM Portugal isn't even strong in "Real Life." They had some explorers, but that was it. They are nothing. Malta is more important.
@@encycl07pedia- "malta is more important"🤡
@@hello-rq8kf It is. Why do you think the entire island was awarded the George Cross? You really think "discovering" America several centuries after the Vikings mattered? Spain would have done it anyway. Portugal is nothing. Even the tiny rock called Gibraltar south of it is more strategic and important than Portugal.
@@encycl07pedia- take your meds, schizo
Can you do one with quick combat off?
that'll take days to finish
toxicpanda36 it’s sped up
Lil Washcloth it'll still take days to record
toxicpanda36 not really. I think it’ll be longer but not that long. It’s an animation that takes a couple seconds, unless it’s planes. But there are mods to speed up their animations
Lil Washcloth there are a bunch of individual civilizations that are each facing their own wars with each other, with a bunch of individual units having their own separate battles on large scales. Not to mention how long the games last for and how big the maps are. Just look at how long the ancient era unique unit battle went for, and that's only a few units
Я за Венецию топил :-(
