It was all over when Sweden awarded their 12 points and almost everyone in the hall and at homes across Europe did the math in their heads and realized Netherlands couldn't be caught, must've been a gutting feeling for Brits who were convinced The Shadows would win it after leading in the first half of voting. They really should've won and I'm not saying this in a biased way, of all 15 occasions UK finished 2nd this is one of the 4 or 5 times I felt we deserved a victory judging by the field of songs in each perspective year.

Yes - I feel those times when UK should have won are 1975, 1977, 1988 and 1993. Possibly 1998 too. What do you think?
I think Netherlands was a worthy winner personally. It has aged very well. Its one of my favourite eurovision songs.
We watched another political vote. Turkish song was very beautiful and artistic in 1975.
