4:49. I didn’t think these cars were as fast as they were until someone got on it. It was someone going on to the freeway at full throttle in one of these and I had a suprised look on my face!! 😂 I thought it was just a marketing scheme
The Durango and Cherokee SRT provide 8/10ths of the experience that a X5 M or GLE 63 would save for the refinement and overall build quality that push those cars over the edge in terms of being the complete package.
It all depends on what you are after. Many are after just the performance and the Dodge Durango SRT give that while lacking in the refinement you talk of that would be in a X5 or GLE 63. I shopped all of them and honestly for me it was about the performance for the dollars. Dodge wins that hands down. You still get lots of good extras too. The UConnect system is great and with the Peformance Pages you get every type of information you would want. Heated seats Front/Rear, etc. all make for a solid vehicle.
I have the Rango SRT since 2018. It's an amazing truck. I test drove a few other options, but couldn't compare to this beast. I'm just waiting for my order on the Rango hellcat now 😉😊
Simple: they understood the market. People with money to spend on cars tend to go for trucks SUVs, and sports/muscle cars. The Dart and Chrysler 200 were decent cars, but at the end of the day they didn't bring home the bacon. Sure enough, axeing those and focusing on their performance & utility vehicles is better for them financially. What we have right here is a hybridization of models, aimed at those who would otherwise get a Challenger/Charger but need something more practical and utilitarian.
I'm 16 and this is my dream car. Right now I'm stuck with a 2015 v6 Durango which still has more get up and go than most other SUVs. I still drive it like it's an srt. I'm thinking about learning how to use the paddle shifters
So I’m about to trade in my 2018 DDSRT this week for a 21’ BMW X5, the Durango was fun and fast and very capable for its size but at the end of the day it’s still a Dodge with crappy plastics all over and dated and slow electronics. The X5 is like being in a spaceship when compared to what’s offered in the Durango for around the same price point. Is it fun to rip 4.1 0-60’s in a giant SUV, yes but getting 11.7 mpg was not as fun, nor was burning through a set of pads and rotors in 12k miles. I’ll miss the speed but that’s about it. On a side note I was pleasantly surprised to learn there was actually equity in the vehicle at the end of my lease and I’ll make about $4500 on the trade in so it actually held its value quite well in the 3 yrs I’ve had it.
