Something I have been doing while decluttering is instead of asking "can I find a use for this?", I will ask "can I live without this?"
You can _always_ find a use for something if you try hard enough, and that perspective creates a sort of anxiety that if you get rid of something, you'll be depriving yourself of some unforseen need. Framing it in a way that reassures yourself that you'll be just fine without something is a real game changer.... It's surprisingly liberating and easy.

Painting my house has been keeping me off the news. Decluttering has kept me off the news. I’m saving money and my house is looking great

I honestly love the ‘yapping’. 😊 it feels so relatable listening to someone else’s thoughts that definitely echo my own. I’ve also recently started being more intentional with spending, project pan and I hate when people just make a fast video with random music thrown in. It kind of takes away from the intentionality we all want to learn and embrace. Loved hearing your thoughts 💖

thank you so much! i’ve def done the quicker vids with music over, but i liked writing my thoughts out more :) so glad that was appreciated bc it def takes more effort 😂🫶🏻

Hi, I'm 75 and never had much stuff. Three (3) of us live in a 2BR apartment near Chicago. It's good to learn early in life that you can live with less. Most people in the world have fewer things than people in the US. Tina, Al's wife

awe thank you, tina! you are so right, i’ve traveled a decent amount and def see that americans consume SIGNIFICANTLY more. 🫶🏻

I thought at first the reddish color you painted thi gs was going to be crazy, but it tured out pretty. Great job. I just made that rule with my stuff, i cannot buy anything like or close to what i have until i use up the rest i have. Just cleaned and decluttered and organized. I put all like items together. Example, cleaning supplies. I have enough to start my own cleaning business. Lol, will not buy anything else until all is gone, even lime items i can use for other cleani g stuff. I thought after i put it all in one area organized that i thought i should have put on the very back one, last one, then i can think about buying then. Lol, i wont have to buy for a LONG time. I even gave people stuff and tossed a lot. I will not buy the NEW thing going this week anymore.

Awesome video! Been procrastinating decluttering… you’re inspiring me:) For the clothes with holes in them, try visible mending! Adds a pop of colour and it’s a fun craft to do. Sashiko is really cute or my personal favourite is darning:) plus then you really personalize the item and don’t need to buy a new one!

Absolutely been feeling this way. I think soon after COVID lockdowns I really started to recognize my behavioural and spending patterns and I am loving the normalization of abandoning overconsumption!

These potential tariffs are scaring the shit out of me, so I’m starting my no buy now to get used to not being able to buy stuff in the future 😭

no fr, convincing myself it a choice & not out of necessity hahah but also, i’d rather save for experiences and travel, not random items i don’t need.. but i guess some motivation too😭

Trump is gonna try tariffs but it did not go down well before and it won’t go down well this time around . We may see some price increases but I do not think overall we will see huge price increases .

You should store markers and pens upside-down.

Lipsticks and eye pencils you can easily see if they have gone bad. But so many things if they were well made to begin with or not opened, I have had great luck with. If it smells odd, I toss immediately. But its part of the over consumption myth to keep people.buying. Similar to canned food...
