I so relate to this. When I was a kid and would go to a place like Lowe's with my parents and see all of the sheds lined up outside the store for sale, I would imagine myself living in one and making the small space work perfectly with only what I needed and nothing else. Fast forward to today, and my husband and I downsized into an apartment after our kids moved out, and I could go even smaller. We looked at a Class C RV, and I was imagining myself in that small space with my husband and two cats and only what we need. I think it's about efficiency for me and living within certain boundaries.
YESS! Thank you! ❣This is pure gold. Dropping wisdom bombs left and right. We can stop wanting. Realizing how absurd it is to rely on someone else's opinions (who only wants me to click their affiliate links) about what’s best for my body, my lifestyle, my preferences, my unique taste - so eye-opening when you point it out like that. Style isn't some secret reserved for self-proclaimed experts. I want to pin this video under every 'How to Find Your Personal Style' guide, LOL. Also, it made me smile how you did in fact not end up getting that wardrobe.
I did the same with letting Poshmark stuff go recently - I sent everything to ThredUp for a closet cleanout. It doesn't necessarily pay as much as Poshmark, but they do all the work for you and the best part is that it gets the stuff out of your house and back into circulation. Love your videos & outlook! ❤
I'm so happy the algorithm finally out you in front of me. I'm excited to start at the beginning of your content and learn more about your journey. I'm currently on a huge postpartum self re-discovery journey and really enjoying it. Specifically personal style and style confidence. My biggest hangup when it comes to holding onto clothes is a scarcity mindset. After many iterations and onion layer peel backs of my wardrobe curation, I've noticed the thing that has been most helpful for me is to take full body pictures of my outfits each day. If i love it, it goes in a folder. It really helps me (lovingly of course) critique what's going on and make the adjustments i want to make. I did a 30 day shop your wardrobe challenge and vowed to not wear an outfit i had worn before. It REALLY flexed my creativity and showed me that even when i really push myself... There were still items i never chose! That really helped get me over the hurdle of letting go that last excess 20 %. Now I'm playing with capsule wardrobes to help further fine tune my personal style wardrobe templates. It's such a fun process and i love seeing others do it to as it helps me make inferences about myself. All that to say. Sad lonely stay at home mom over here and I'm excited to find your content. Thank you for sharing!
I’m also a SAHM and can totally relate to the postpartum rediscovery process 😅 it’s been a “peeling an onion” type of experience for me too and I love hearing about your journey with it! So nice to know I’m not alone.
Oh my goodness - that first statement - YES! Think this is my favorite video yet and just what I needed to hear - I relate so much to this and need to convince myself I can do this - that little girl you talk about who writes each outfit down, etc. - that's totally me. An endless cycle of feeling exhausted and not good enough and continuing to buy and buy...thank you for this!! Looking forward to more! ❤
Just found your channel, I love listening to you! I was wondering if you’ve figured out your Kibbe body type yet? I would guess that you’re in the Natural family (but I don’t know if you’re a Flamboyant Natural or a Soft Natural). Either way, people in the Natural body type family look amazing with tousled hair (you do!) and should never wear anything tight or restrictive looking. (I was watching your earlier video where you were debating keeping the jeans that are skin tight around waist and hips now… please let them go! They don’t work with your Natural lines. But there are so many comfy flowy pants styles that would look incredible on you.)
