Mark is a wonderful guy. He also has a great sound on his horn. I played with him twice and he lifts the stage with his elegant sound. Nice interview Terry.
I had the good fortune to have been asked to play drums with Mark forming a trio back in the mid 80's. We toured Europe playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival among many other venues on a Windham Hill tour. I was a mere 19 years old! We also toured the States and played the famous Bottom Line. Mark also invited me to be in a movie he did the score for, playing a street musician alongside none other than Pee Wee Ellis. Other musicians he brought on to that project were Patrick O'Hearn (Missing Persons and Frank Zappa) and Collin Chin a guitarist and friend of Marks. To this day I'm grateful for the opportunities he gave to me as a young player. I learned a LOT about listening. Thank you Mark! (hello to Terry and thank you for this long-overdue interview!) And on a side note, my cousin Barry Jackson did the artwork on the movie Cool World. Such a small world indeed!
Wow Terry, it is so great to see you. So glad that I found your channel. I will pass it on to all my old bandmates. We used to have your music going on between our sets. We idolize to you and Dale as we matured as an original band. Thanks so much, you are still the coolest cat to sit behind a drum kit. Subscribed, and Thanks again.🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠
This was great! I can't believe ya'll did the music for "Cool World". I watched all the Ralph Bakshi Cartoons in my 20's (1991-) Had all 50 Zappa CD's by that age. In contrast my dad had the entire Windham Hill collection. 😅
Was big into the Polytown record (Bozzio, Torn, Karn) and one day stumbled into a show at the Great American Music Hall which was the Polytown band w/ Mark Isham on trumpet. Has to be one of the best I've attended. Don't think they recorded anything.
GOLD!!!!!!!!!! Thank You!
Two of my favorite musicians! Such a tremendous influence and inspiration. Thanks Terry and Mark!
That first Group 87 record amazed me when it came out and amazes me still to this day, actually. It's a timeless beautiful record.

What A F&*King Pair! I consider this an honor to watch and listen too! GROUP 87, then CASALIA! Both can not get ANY BETTER! Just different!
Brilliant! Lesson from experience don't blow off any contacts always respond to the call and never be afraid to reach out musical bros and sisss!
Cool snare stand table~!
What a great interview - thanks Terry. And please bring Patrick on for an interview as well!!
This is Fantastic! Thank you Drum Channel. Thank you Terry. Thank you Mark. It's great to get a different angle on how to approach things.

Islam’s scores for MRS SOFFEL, NEVER CRY WOLF, and multiple Alan Rudolph films are among my absolute favourites
I’d love to hear about Mark’s sessions with David Sylvian.
My first listening to Bozzio was an instructional video on VCR,, I think when he was with Missing Persons. He was teaching double-bass. Rock on! 🤘
Dig. Thanks DC!

The meeting of the parabolists!
"First rule.. listen"
Once Terry finds his groove in this new gig, that's what he will be doing then.
Blue Sun!

Lombardi body snatches Mark Isham? Uncanny.
I’ve always found reading just impossible for me. I’m an ear drummer.
