    Followed the whole build and absolutely enjoyed every episode, thank you👏 One question though, I saw you hook up the positive lead to the battery positive terminal, but didn’t see where you would hook up the negative lead. Does it go to the battery negative terminal, or to a ground on the frame? Again, thank you for the great content.

      Super pleased you like the content and yes I missed filming the negative connection. I made this directly to the battery as recommended by CTEK due to the battery sensing technology.

    I might have missed it but have you talked about final build cost ?

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have decided not to share the build cost since prices have changed so much during my build. However, if you were interested in build a V8Creative spec RS (big spec) the factory will give you a cost.

    The Ultima has almost zero electronics and no alarm, I'm pretty sure I would keep its charge for 6 month.

      You would be surprised at how much a battery can degrade with even the smallest current draw.

    I use a CTek charger on my Ultima Nigel. My wiring is a little different though. I have a cable from the battery that runs to the front of the car. It has a waterproof connector on it. It is hidden just inside the radiator opening. I can then plug in the charger without opening the front clip. I know from experience that the car needs charging if not run for 3 weeks and it is permanently connected over winter. Paul

      I had the exact same setup on my GTR720 with rag indicator.. 5a worked a treat.

      @v8creative  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks Paul, and that answers some of the other comments on the channel since I know all too well even the smallest current draw will degrade a battery, especially when it has to crank a cold 6.2 liitre plus engine from cold.

    I also use tire ovalization prevention cushions for longer storage over the winter time. (Kuberth)

    Great choice of charger Nigel. I fitted the same kit to mine but with a 3D printed bracket for the comfort panel in the wheel well area.. I can thoroughly recommend the CS One, well worth the extra pennies. Haven’t used it in anger with the RS yet but my XJ was giving regular battery errors, I was on the verge of ordering a new, rather pricey AGM unit. Tried this charger, it spent 8 hours reconditioning the battery and it’s been absolutely faultless now for several months. This one cycle paid for itself.
    As a little side note for those who aren’t too fussed about the comfort indicator panel, you can just clip the charger on and away it goes, you don’t even need to worry about polarity, it takes care of that itself !! Well done CTek.

    Ctek looks good and I'd probably go for that if I was buying now but I bought an Optimate4 way back in my motorcycling days to keep my bikes batteries conditioned and although its around 18 years old now its still working perfectly so I'll not be replacing it until it dies. On my GTM I have a permanently live cig lighter socket so I've rigged the optimate outlet to have a cig lighter plug so it can connect to the battery via that and no need to open any clamshells.
    On a different note, the Optimate has a battery recovery mode for sulphated batteries and I've used it to bring back completely dead batteries that wouldn't even accept charge from conventional chargers - one of the ones I recovered is still working fine several years later so it does work! Does the Ctek have that feature?

    Final upgrade?? When’s the supercharger coming 🫣

      i distinctly remember him stating he was planning all kinds of engine upgrades including supercharger.

    • @jasonhill2896
      @jasonhill2896 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't believe it is happening. I imagine it is plenty quick enough already.

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      You are correct I did intend fitting a supercharger but have decided against it for a couple of reasons. Speaking to the gurus in Ultima engine tuning they say adding a supercharger increases the centre of gravity of the car since it adds a chunk of weight high up in the engine bay. This is also a negative with the LT engines apparently. Also, the standard LS3 is insanely quick in my RS. However, if I did fancy another 200bhp, it's easily achievable with heads, cam, larger throttle body, and a remap. That would add zero weight and push output to beyond 650bhp.

      @@v8creative If you decide to do those upgrades, I would love to see the work. Maybe after a some baseline track runs. So we could see before and after comparisons. I am assuming you are planning on showing us some track time as it is now.

    Great setup Nigel. I love CTEKs new charger, and that carry case 😊
    My RS has a LiteBlox lithium battery, a tad costly, but it saves circa 12kgs weight and is all controlable from my mobile, including total battery cut off and theft system. On trickle charge.
    I am so looking forward to episode 66 🏎

      Hi Jason, sounds like your set up is pretty good also. Episode 66 is full-beans onboard etc with the V8Creative RS. And of course some surprise news. Plan is for it to be posted next Friday (October 4th)

    You would think CTEK would make a round fitment comfort indicator too for ease of installation, just a holesaw or step drill much easier...just saying

      Good point, but many display panels seem to be rectangular so nothing new for me. I have lost count of the number of times I have filed out square/rectangular holes :-)

    Im also using a ctek for my motorcycle, works perfectly, when i come back after winterbreak the battery is charged und the Engine spins over.
    Sadly it doesnt always start because its an old Africa Twin 750 with carburators who want to be cleaned first

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  วันที่ผ่านมา

      CTEK kit is good, and of course your Africa Twin does not start every time, but that's the joy of owning a carbed engine when it comes out of storage :-).
