Thank you so much!
I love the way you structured this video by starting and ending with the flowers. Really charming, Benita, so thoughtful.
I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
Loving the new hair
Thanks so much! It was very needed!
Thanks for the great tips. ❤
I agree 💯😊. Looks fantastic
Yes I agree looks great 😊
Indeed - love your hair!
You always can be counted on to give the best tips 👍🏼
Aww, thank you so much!😊
The folding the rubber gloves when you clean the shower makes my day!! Yes! No more soaked clothes and inner arms! Brilliant! Thanks Benitta.❤❤
I did feel kind of like a genius when I came up with it ages ago😅
@@BenitaLarsson Yes, it is rather brilliant. I can't tell you how many times I've had to change my clothes because of this, so this will save not only my shirts but also my sanity. 😂
Can I just say how impressed I am with Stockholm's recycling system? I just got back from driving our recycling to our only recycling facility, 30 minutes away. I am so envious you have those recycling bins all over your city. So much simpler.
It’s so easy to take out the recycling here and there’s no division between soft and hard plastics etc. A lot of sorting is done in the recycling plants.
In Canada, recycling is picked up at yout door, ts alternated each week between household garbage and recycling ,as well as separate food waste collection each week. I thought most counties in Europe had similar waste management, and we modeled our system after Europe
@@vi9763a lot of Europe is moving away from at-door pickup. Its too labour- and space intensive for the society we wish to build. So now we are rolling out more shared collection points. 😊
In most other cities in Sweden we can recycle in the yard of our apartment buildings, Stockholm is a bit behind the rest of the country with still having these bigger collection points around the city 😏
Hi,i've recently gotten into minimalism and you teach a lot about it. Everyday i wake up,i play your videos and start decluttering haha. You're such an inspiration. Love from Türkiye.
I love the way you live and how you are always coming up with innovative ideas to help life run as smoothly as possible. I can't wait to get my own place to set up exactly as I want, with everything in its perfect spot. Until then, your videos are such a treat - even my dog seems to relax when she hears your voice. Your sense of humor always shines through and brightens my day.
I love that your dog enjoys my videos!🐶🥹
I always love your videos and have followed you for years (Will was a child and you were still married!). In this video, I allow myself to react and provide you with information.
1) When you remove the cord from a charger but leave it plugged in, be aware that you are still using energy. It's small but you consume.
2) Placing cleaning items and towels on top of trash (even dry trash) involves micro transfer. Your towels are “contaminated” by waste. Again, it's tiny but you have to know it.
3) The ideal flower storage temperature depends on the variety of flowers. It can range from 8 to 20° Celcius. It was a florist friend who taught me about it. Also, if you do not have the possibility (or the desire) to take your vase out at night, or the temperatures are much too low or high, simply put 2-3 ice cubes in the vase water over time (I do it every 2 days when I change the water).
I wish you a beautiful day and thank you for your inspiring videos. Best wishes.
I like the tip of using newsprint to remove odor. I've never heard of it but will give it a try when the opportunity rises. On another note, I love your new haircut and color. It's very flattering on you.
Thank you so much!
Please do try it! It is my go to for when something goes bad in the fridge or I simply dislike the smell of something in there. I always pop a newspaper ball into my fridge for three nights and the smell is gone!
Excellent ideas! And you short hair has always been your best look, absolutely lovely.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tips. Ive used the newspaper trick in an old steamer trunk. I did it enough times that all the musty smell was removed. I got it from a book called Eloise's household hints back in the 80s!
Yay for newsprint, right?!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love Eloise! When I was a kid I used to read those books obsessively.
The rubber glove trick is priceless! Thankyou for sharing.
So happy you found a useful trick!
The gloves in the shower and the tp trick..... OMG Fabulous!!!!
So glad you like them!
The stenciled truck chest is magnificent
Can’t wait to see it in the house!
Great tip to preserve the life of cut flowers. I will be doing that from now on.
Good ideas to start the New Year Benita. Love your pixie cut too! 🙂 I like your idea of tea towel reuse. Instead of buying dish cloths, I cut up and stitch tea towels I don't want to use any more, into 18 cm squares and use them as dish cloths.
Thank you! And for the tip too!
I LOVE the cuffed rubber glove trick - that streaming water down my arms always annoyed me! I am so glad to have a solution now, thank you. Also, that cork trivet hack - love it! Besides the cork trivet having a clean and minimal look, cork is also sustainable. Thank you for sharing, Benita, and hi to Bonus (also love your haircut!).
So happy if you found some useful tips!
These 16 'Smart Ideas' are great Benita! I love the light weight handle of your hammer; which I presume would be so much easier to use for regular home use instead of larger construction work. Plastic glove trick is awesome!
The hammer is Wille’s from when he was little, it’s great for simple things like nails in walls.
Hi Benita, I use a throw rug grip pad cut up in various sizes to keep things from sliding. I have used large pieces under couch cushions to keep them from moving around, under all my drawer organizers, kitchen drawers so my large utensils don’t slide. I think I got mine from IKEA and it comes in white. ❤
Älskar den här typen av videor med tips och tricks som är enkla att följa/genomföra/implementera men som gör skillnad. Tack för dina välgjorda videor!
Tack för att du tittar!😊
So many gems in here. The cuffs on the gloves was a “why didn’t I think of that?!” moment. And apparently charcoal (like the kind for barbecues) is really good at removing odours too
Thanks for the charcoal tip! Have had those little bags, but I’m thinking a bigger quantity for the chest would have been great!
The cork trivet idea is genius, and so well timed. Last night I was clearing out a cupboard and I realised I had an excess of cork pot stands for some reason.
I had been thinking of getting the IKEA pan protectors, but they are never in stock.
But thanks to your video, I tried out the cork trivets and they fit perfectly between my frypans.
So it motivated me to clean out and reorganise my pot and frypan drawer.
Tack så mycket Benita.
Yay! So happy you were able to get use out of them!
These are some great tips!
One thing though, I was tought that leaving chargers in elektrical sockets is a fire hazard (one of the reasons why it's recommended not to charge your phone while you're sleeping).
Maybe things have changed, but just a heads up.
I had never heard of putting news papers in smelly things!
I am going to try that for sure.
I know putting a bowl of (dry) baking soda in there can help.
Or a bowl of (unused) coffee (whole beans or ground) and even some (clean!) kitty litter can do the trick!
I like that there are so many environmentally friendly options to try.
Oof! I know that special drill you need for those '70s homes!
My apartment was build in 1975 and all the walls are concrete..!
I also love your late mother's trick 💐
Thank you for sharing!
Oui c est dangereux vous avez raison.
Wow..what a surprise this Tuesday Morning. Somehow, I hought your next one was next Tuesday, time flys. First, Love, love your new chic haircut, it becomes you. You are the best for giving tips, the one with the gloves folded I will use, this was a pet peeve with me, everytime I cleaned the shower. Thanks so much Benita, until the next one, take care of you and Bonus. ❤🐾🐾
Thanks so much! Happy if you found some ideas to use!
I’m really enjoying your channel. I’ve picked up so many tips from working through the backlog during the past week. I’ll never be a minimalist, but I’ve been through drawers and books passed on so many things I didn’t need in this short space of time. Even my grandchildren have decluttered their dolls house and their books. Next visit it will be the toys. I guess I just needed some motivation. 🙏
Very happy if you found motivation in my videos!
Loving your hair! I've recently inherited my Mom's house. I am now slowly but surely getting rid of thigs that I don't absolutely need and trying to fix up what I can. That you for showing me some tricks and ideas.
Happy if you’re finding some ideas to use. Best of luck with the house!
Dear Benita! What smart hacks for the home! Really liked the one with the gloves against pets hair! 😻and the one to remove the wax, I will definitely try it out! And…. Lovely new haircut, it suits you very well! 🙋♀️☺️cheers from Iris from southwest Germany!
So happy if you found some useful ideas! And thank you!
@@BenitaLarsson ☺️🤩
Using a cork trivet between scratchy cookware is a tip that I will use right away! Thank you for all the good tips! Nice the way you tied in the opening and closing video shots with the vase of flowers!
So glad you enjoyed it and found a tip to use right away!
I will use the trivet as well, great idea
Tack för den här videon. Den stora överraskningen är ditt nya hår! mycket trevligt!
Tack för att du tittade och för komplimangen!
Loved these tips so much! Thank you Benita!! Your content is simply the best. I'll re-watch your older videos and notice tips I've picked up from you that I do all the time. I'll be pulling from this treasure trove a lot. The tip about using recycables as recycling containers - so simple but brilliant! An empty frozen veggie bag -- allows quick, easy trip rather than taking the whole bin out at once. Hello to Bonus, too!!
I am SO with you on black cords!!!
Thank you for great content once again. I also practice minimalism and purposeful living, and it’s just made my life so much easier and more pleasant 🌸
So much more pleasant, right?
As usual - clear, useful, relaxing 🙂 thanks a lot, Benita!
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOVE the kitchen towel-->napkin idea. Charming!
🇬🇧 Such great ideas Benita. Have you ever thought of writing a book? I think it would do well.
I love your vlogs, can you do more regular ones? Hair looks lovely x
I did have a literary agent at one point but decided it’s not for me. And as for more videos, I need to stick to one every other week😊
@@BenitaLarsson That's a bonus tip right there: know thyself! 👏
The tip about freezing the candles is absolutely amazing! Thinks!
Benita always give us simple ways to live our lives! Thank you❤
So happy you like the ideas!
I don't usually use rubber gloves when cleaning, but folding the end is brilliant for not getting wet
Good Afternoon! Just a suggestion- use the non-skid pads for under area rugs under the chest of drawers under your sink to prevent it from moving around. You can even glue it to the bottom of the chest of drawers if you want to.
That’s a great idea! Wouldn’t want to glue it because rubber against plastic can get weird after a while though.
That's true, it does get weird! Take care and thanks for the many tips. @@BenitaLarsson
Thank you for these great ideas, Benita.
I have found that putting the old musty furniture pieces in the sun for the day eliminates the smells beautifully 🌞
There are some pieces in the house that will be sunbathing this summer for sure!
A couple of years ago, I bought a large pine chest and when I got it home, I tried all the things you are suggesting and no matter what I did the smell would not leave, so I donated to a charity and perhaps they could paint it to get the odour out. You really have to take a good sniff at the shops to make sure it does not have an odour, but in all of my many many years of buying antiques, that was a first. I too place trivets between my fry pans and works wonders, no scratches. Thanks for all of the great ideas.
I ❤Benita Tuesday. Thanks for the great ideas and hugs to Mr. B. 🐈⬛
Will distribute hug!🐈⬛Thank you!
Some wonderful tips.. I have a little chest in my closet that moves back each time… I tried the toilet roll trick and voila! Problem solved! Thanks so much.. greet video.
And love the simple yet very stylish cut!! It is so “you” and really fits your esthetic. Less really is more🩷
Thanks for the video💕
So great that you were able to use one of the ideas already! And thank you!
Hi Benita I would be really interested in you looking at repairs or improvements in your home. You made the shelf installation look so effortless I felt I could do this!! Thanks
Hey, i really enjoy your ideas and lifestyle tips, but unfortunately i dont know english very well. Please make sure to add polish subtitles. :)
love your videos!!!
It might be useful, FYI, for unsightly black cords, I wrap white electrical tape around them so they blend in.
Benita : tus propuestas , interesantes como siempre 👍🏼. Y tu nuevo look , te rejuvenece : me parece ideal !!
Great ideas! Your hair is looking great!
Thank you so much!
Hip hip hourray, my kind of content ❤...love the new color Benita ♥️...always a thumbs 👍 from Canada 🇨🇦
So glad you enjoyed it!
I've definitely stuck flowers in the fridge before. Works like a charm!
Love your haircut, AND there's a happy perk in your voice. Your videos are inspiring! thanks
Thanks for sharing! Great video, as always! I’m always happy to see your new uploads! Benita, I hope you are fine… All my best wishes to you 🌷 and a big hug from Germany
I’m great, thank you!
Just brilliant always, no wonder flowers dont last in my apartment. Its 24 degrees even in the winter...lol... hugs and love from the UK xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Can I just say how much I want to have proper recycling space in my home? ♻️😍
Love the tips and you deserve to feel like a genius every single time when you use your rubber gloves! My similar trick is to button my duvet cover before washing them so the pillow cases don't end up in it and I don't have to dig them out!
Bicarb in a bowl will absorb smells like the crushed newspaper. I use bicarb in my kitty litter box and mix in with the kitty litter. It's great and really works ! Thanks Benita love your work
Ráda sleduji Vaše videa,děkuji za užitečné tipy!Máte hezký nový účes,sluší Vám🩷Pozdrav z České republiky
Some great tips Benita! Particularly like the candles in the freezer, folding the cuffs on the gloves and the chilled flowers tricks! And loving the new hair that you’re not mentioning! 😊 Do hope it’s a style choice rather than a health issue this time! ❤
Just a much needed chop!✂️
I heard about removing flowers to a kitchen overnight and now outside makes complete sense. Thank you x
Wonderful tips, thank you! And that haircut is PERFECTION on you.
Aww, thank you so much!
love the chestnut color!
Not too sure about the color to be honest but the chop was much needed!
You look so beautiful. Your hair and colour is perfect for you as well.
Thank you so much!
The best way to remove any odor from old furniture or fabrics is to buy very cheap vodka. Spray the item with it. The alcohol evaporates and does not damage the item. Repeat until the odor is gone. Got this tip from a master furniture refinisher.
Your binocular hack made me smile. That was cute how you put them in front of your eyes. Loved the tip about removing pet hair with plastic gloves!
Thanks for these tips and your videos in general! For # 14 - I hear that museum putty/gel works great too. Have a great day!
Thanks for the tip!
3M Velcro strips are also great for that. Under the unit.
You can remove the item for cleaning and if you line it up properly reattach it again.
I've used this to attach a stack of VARIERA shelves in my kitchen cabinet. I use it to organise my baking trays/tins and have the mixing bowls under. But as the shelf is above head height, I was worried that if I (or my husband, who does most of the baking) pulled the bowls out it would pull it all down on us. It stays securely in place now.
Oh I just love your mini mid century modern tiny chair
I had a collection of them many years ago but only kept one after decluttering over the years.
Love your hair. So stylish! ❤
Thank you so much!
That rubber glove trick! Thanks!
I’m so glad you went back to your short haircut!! So cute and so you❣️❣️❣️
Thank you! Not sure if it will stay this short but the cut was very needed😅
Like you I can’t stand seeing cords and I use cloth napkins too.that flower tip works, when I receive a bouquet at work I place it in the fridge before I go home to keep it fresh.
It really does work!🌸🌿
Your tips are so useful and clever. I've recently placed some small felted pads under all my kitchen counter big appliances, as you demonstrated in a previous trick video. This works so well and it made me feel super clever (thanks to you). I'll definitly try your rubber gloves trick and the overnight chilled flowers.
Oh man, I wish you could come over and organize my cabinets 😂 love the Bonus content ❤ I had no idea about that flower trick! Definitely going to try that
Good tip about the flowers!
Great tips. For me, I especially liked your reference to the "cable spaghetti," which made me laugh. So good to just stash them away in a basket. And, duh, how simple and obvious to fold our rubber gloves to catch wet messes. I also noted the great cut and color of your hair, so flattering. I have been needing my own haircut and want it short the way I used to wear it. Love it.
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for all the tips my loveliest Benita🤍🤍 with the amazing new look (this haircut suits you so much) Especially the tip with the flowers (truly loved it) or the other one with the newspapers taking away the smells 📰🗞️ Thank you for the inspiration 🙏 Always so simple and always to the point 🐈⬛🤍
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love these hacks 😂❤ definitely using the rubber clothes one and the candle in the freezer 👌 😊. I love a place for everthing too in my home xxx
Fabulous video as always. Everything flows so nicely. Thnx! ❤❤
What good tips. LOVE your hair. You look ten years younger. Its such a cute style on you.
Some great ideas Benita. One I will be definitely doing tomorrow is folding the top of my rubber gloves back, brilliant tip.
Glad you found some useful tips!
Just used the trivet hack! I was using sheets of bubble wrap between my frying pans before but the cork pads are far tidier. Thanks!
Yay! So happy you found a trick to use!
Newspaper is good for so many things. I put a few wads of newspaper inside my luggage when I put it away. Keeps it fresh. Thanks for all the great tips! 🙂
I don’t like the feeling of newsprint on my hands but boy is it useful!
Easy peasy, lemon squeeze 😂
Yes!🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋
Your hair cut looks terrific, it really suits you.
Such good tips! Not sure if they have them in Sweden, but in the US many cities have tool libraries where you can check out tools for free! There's one in Oakland, California that I use often. It's so handy when you need a specialty tool for just a few days. Loving the new hair BTW!
We have tool rental places but I haven’t heard of a free service. That’s amazing!
Thank you for good ideas! 🤗 I love your haircut! ❤
Happy if you found some useful ones!
We paint our black cords white. It works well.
A lady in Japan told me that flowers kept in their unheated entrance space would always stay fresher than if they were in the living space.
Many thanks for these great ideas .
I like most the tip with the candle wax and the rubber gloves for the animal hair . Have a good time .
Hugs from Germany ♥
Glad you found some useful ones!
Your hair looks so pretty. I enjoyed this video, I’d love a drawer under the oven and often think of retrofitting one. But I was smug watching you fit the kitchen cupboard shelf as I did this very thing last year 😂. I used old pax wardrobe shelves I cut down as it’s impossible to buy extra shelves in the UK.
Sorry for my comment earlier note to self watch video first before commenting but still, really loved this video thanks from Edinburgh!
It makes me feel better when I saw you actually have dust😂😂🇨🇦
😅🤣😂
Dear Benita, your videos are always such an inspiration! I personally don´t like the handling and look of a squeegie, so I just put a linen dish towel in my shower and give the glass doors a quick wipe after I´m done.
So glad you enjoy my videos!
I have painted most of my cords to match whatever they are lying on or near. For instance, I painted my cords to match the wall. It doesn’t damage the cord and it looks so much more cohesive.
I do that too for cords that stay put, like my TV.
Hello Benita, your hair looks fantastic and takes years off you ,well done.
Thank you so much!
Great ideas!
Your new hairstyle looks so cute on you!
Thanks so much!
Love all the tips. Always great ideas. Also love the new hairstyle, you look fabulous.
Thank you so much!
Love your new hair it really suits you.
Thanks so much!
Don't put waxy candleholders in the dishwasher. The melted wax could clog up the little spray nozzles etc. Always clean them by hand with very hot water and dishsoap. Works just fine
Love your videos and style! thanks always!
I love your videos, and get quite excited when a new one pops up. Thank you x
Aww, thank you so much!
