- It is December in our off-grid cabin, and it is COLD!
The first little disaster hits as soon as we arrive... But of course it is nothing less than a fairytale to be back in the woods.
In this video we drive out to our two vacation cottages to give them a little love and a warm (indirect) welcome to our lovely guests.

Beautiful video! And as a coincidence I had exactly the same problem in my offgrid cabin, huge amounts of smoke comming in when I fired my stove up. A a friend later told me, dont fire up the stove, try to fire up some newspaper in the hatch below, and keep on doing that for like 10 minutes. And YES it worked well. No smoke inside (and outside it was -13 C).

@@AnnieJulian Nice to hear that the tip worked perfect for you too! On my offgrid cabin there is allways a lot of work and I take a few pictures but allmost allways forgot to film, in 2022 I got help from some friends and built a sauna close to my cabin, and yes, a short movie from the sauna:

I love our heat energy fans for our stoves (we have 2 per stove)!! They’re amazing for circulating the warm air. 🪵 🔥 Looks absolutely beautiful and cozy. 😊

You need to sweep the chimney and clean out the stove from soot. I do it tree or four times a season.

Mice…they make such a mess. We find that keeping food tightly sealed in hard plastic containers is very effective. Even if the mice get in they do not stay.

How much did you pay for the last propery? Now when the SEK/DKK is 1.5 you can really get alot for your money in Sweden.
