Watching cabin videos because I've got the first 4 rows of logs laid on my new cabin.. Building it myself with help of my Amish friends. Seeing these videos keeps my excitement going that I'm about to have a place like yours, by my own hands

Its a beautiful home. The people who built it thought of everything. The craftsmanship is truly amazing. I truly love the wood burning fireplace on the main cabin floor.

We have been concerned about that too. We have an age minimum for children who are allowed to go up in the loft. We were thinking of closing it up and making it into a 3rd bedroom! Should we keep the railing as a decoration on the outside of the walls I wonder?
@@stonehillcabin I would close it up. You know how kids are, they are curious about doing things. Better to be safe than sorry. Beautiful place though. Thank you for responding back.
@Freddie - We'll have to think through a design/plan at some point soon. We don't want to ruin the view of the beautiful loft either, so finding a balance is necessary. Maybe the answer is some type of half wall?

Oh what a charming cabin. The kids have such a playground outside. Oh how sweet are the kids. Those lights in your room really highlight the beams. Your daughter is so darling! Tell her she helped give a great tour with mommy!

As an audio studio constructor I'd give u the following advice: Just a few inches of Rockwool or Woodwool in the "piano practice room" mounted on the walls and ceiling will do wonders in terms of acoustic treatment.
All the log homes I hhave seen till now was either too big or too little, that is an amazing home. Full amenities, beautifil country, I love the brick drive. Did you build it, did you have it built, or were you just amazingly lucky? Beautiful home, and you use the spaces so well.
Thank you. When we were looking for the right place for us for over 2 years, this cabin was on the market for a year. It was run-down and buried under many layers of dark brown opaque stain, several rotted logs on all sides and the interior was packed with furniture. We were able to see past all that. We invested all our savings to fix it up. We stripped the logs, replaced the rotted ones, and worked hard to clean up the cabin. It just needed a little love and elbow grease.
What a beautiful lil Girl you have....Mine are all grown now and I miss the 3 daughters runnin around driving us crazy ! My youngest is now 37 and the oldest is 42....Jeez louise ?
I know it's been months and im sure little lady healed up well, but just want to add a line or two 8:38 to say I think shes mighty brave and I hope she (and all of us old fogges [wink wink!]) knows being brave in life far outweights the scratches we chalk up... hope she healed up all well....MERRY CHRISTMAS too dear Stone Hill! I noticed I've looked at quite a few different cabins and none of them seem to have window coverings is that a part of living off grid or way out in Alaska upper Canada that you don't put anything over the windows the windows are left uncovered???
I'm not sure if it's unique to us, but we frequently don't close up the windows. We like to let as much sunlight in as we can. We do have blinds, but find that they rarely go down. Thank you so much for watching our videos!
@gerard haubert - The cabin is on the grid technically since we have electrical service via telephone poles. We do not have gas, water, or sewer services. Very well done. This is the only Stone Hill Cabin video that I've seen. It appears that you have one of the most enviable living situations imaginable. What percentage of the audience would like to trade places with you? I'm guessing over ninety percent (90%). Parts of the video suggest that the children are home schooled, which would be like the "icing on the cake."
