Thanks to Rex’s cycle is columbia ky for giving me the ability to film this unit. They have both 2024 Polaris trail boss units available link ⬇️ www.facebook.c...
A couple of additions, the Xpedition has a build in battery charger located near the drivers side headlight. And the Xpedition has a lifetime STEEL belt drive system!
I was going to trade my Ranger XP1000 Northstar Ultimate for the Expedition and liked everything about it except the small box and the engine noise. When the Ranger 1500 XD came out it was an easy decision for me. I know they are not the same and are meant for different users but for a lot of us these are toys and it's a matter of what toy fits your style the best. Can't wait until the XD comes in.
I traded my Northstar ultimate ranger for one of the first 2 seat xp Northstars picked it up july 1st. Had a few issues. Windshield leaks, it's been replaced and still leaks. The prop shaft causes a ringing at 5500 rpms, it's been replaced and still does it. The winch stopped working the first time I used it. That works fine now. The engine is incredibly loud in the cab. Other than that I love the dam thing. They shouldve used a turbo motor to quiet it it down and give it extra power because shes a heavy girl. Im still very happy with it
@americandream_89 in the corners. Still waiting on polaris to let the dealer know what the next step to fix it is. I keep checking for new videos to see what other owners are saying about them since it's a new machine lol
How are you liking the Xpedition Ben? I've had 3 Rangers and now own a General XP1000. I'm buying either the 2 door Xpedition northstar or a defender limited 2 door next!
Besides the increase noise over the defender it’s a game changer from a trail perspective. The shock package and suspension travel soaks up everything on the trail. It’s not a farm vehicle at all in my opinion. If you want the best, AC cab trail machine xpeditions your thing.
We got our xp5 in the other week and have 2 rides under our belt. For how I trail ride nothing Beats this thing. I didn’t want pure sport because I puts around the house and use for camp/ hunting. But I trail ride first. I was unsure about defender/ ranger because we trail ride. This thing is so comfortable and smooth in the trail. Is it perfect? No. It has some things to address/ tweak, but I think it will become a perfect machine. The cab noise isn’t any louder than my general but it is a different tone that gets annoying. I have the 5500 rattle very faintly, my windshield leaked at wiper while towing it in the rain. My ride command is being replaced under warranty for lights not being lit up. The door seals are stuck on with very cheap double side sticky tape and shown some gaps. I found a few small slots where you can see daylight to plug up. I also plan of doing a cruiser clutch kit to bring RPMs down at the slower speeds. Other than that this is still way less work then converting a sport machine into an enclosed machine with climate control. I’d feel better if Polaris charged 37-40k for this machine because of quality areas, for 44k it should have been gone through better quality control.
I agree with you 100%. On you trying to get your RPM down. I wouldn’t recommend doing that clutch kit. I don’t think it’s the best thing for that vehicle. I’ve been doing a lot of research. I’ve also got a video coming Ware I’m going to test an aftermarket belt that claims to drop the RPM 2 to 300 but keep all your same horsepower and not mess with your clutches over the long-term. Just my thoughts.
We take our toyhualer but love riding trails we live in Nebraska but rode in west Virginia, Tennessee, Wyoming and Utah looking forward to use the new machine traded our RZR XP PRO for it
Ur absolutely right! I bought a ranger North Star edition 2021 to trailride when were campin and man it can be rough! Honestly want to trade it in for a expedition!!!
One thing xpedition can never do is have 6 seats. With a family of 6 that is a deal breaker for me. Guess im stuck with my ranger northstar with a thumper fap long travel,35" tires ,18" of ground clearance, fosgate stage 6 stereo.
@@benjaminhale1454 central ky 42718. I’m coming to brimstone this week though if your interested in tagging along we are riding Saturday maybe some Friday evening. But I’d meet you again some place like Wildcat etc just to get people ideas and perspective on a ride like you have
I'd be interested in coming to brimstone this Saturday. Was wanting to ride but none of my friends are available. I had planned on taking my 2018 wildcat x 1000 but can definitely bring the ranger if you want to do some comparisons.
@@benjaminhale1454 that would be sweet. We have a good bit of people coming. Most on the ride have kids so it’s not anyone looking to get crazy just cruise and have fun. I think many would like to see your ride for people in your situation that have to have six seats. Also, how it works being aftermarket compared to the stock xpedition. We also have a family with a 23 defender going. Do you have Instagram?
That’s hard to tell with them just coming out. But they seem to be over built compared to a Ranger. I’ve got a video showing this with a general also. I measure frame and axles in that video
I been waiting on this comparison thanks alot
No problem
Absolutely fantastic detailed comparison
I was excited to get to do this. I know a ton of people needed this visual. Thanks

As of now the only thing with the steel belt is a ranger 1500 from Polaris.
43990 vs 45000. How the fuck is that 8 to 9 thousand differences.
Start buying parts to match the xpedtion you will quickly find out.
Please try and refrain from cussing I have families on here with kids watching.
I said that wrong in the video. The ranger is 37000 roughly and the xpedition is 43999. Sorry for the confusion

Fully agree. That 1500 is one sweet machine. Let me know when you get it and your thoughts.
I'm in the same boat as you. I've got an allocation with my name on it. Im ready for them to start rolling out.

Where is the windshield leaking?

The Xpedtion would be a great upgrade on the trails for you.
It holds weight better also
Can you please make a video of everything at all of the Booths at Equip Exposition This Year?
I’ll be there filming as much as possible. Some booths are hard to fully film with huge crowds
@@americandream_89Okay Awesome!
@@americandream_89Please interview someone at all of the Booths if possible if not just make a video of there Booth!
