It seems like the SxS market has gone the way of the off-road truck/SUV market and just decided their products should only be affordable by those with deep pockets. Not much left for the blue collar guys, anymore outside of stripped down junk that needs $10k worth of options to be useful.
Polaris has done a lot to upgrade the ranger except design their cabs to keep any dust from getting inside the cab or installate the cab better from the engine noise
Depends on what you’re doing... I can’t gauge my mpg because running flat out on a highway for 5 miles is different than crawling 6 to 12mph in hilly pastures for 5 miles. I farm and I fill my JD 835M HVAC every 5 to 7 days...Gas cost is irrelevant compared to the cost of yearly repairs/maintenance on the gator.

Please can you help, I am chasing the measurement from the very front of the machine which I guess would be the front bar to the rear edge of the back tire. I watched an Ostacruiser video and the Polaris was making a awful ratcheting noise when shifting. He commented that was just a Polaris thing. I think the 25 cures that noise.
they need to add child lock doors in the rear. and partner with on x so you can view off the ride command system. like they have with the trail camera viewing. and i wonder if the belts blow fast like my old 19 turbo s4. lol
What is the sound difference in the cabs from the 1000 Northstar to the 1500 Northstar. To me that would make the difference in what one I would purchase.
I have a 21 Northstar Ultimate and the only difference I see is the seats and the ride Command plus. My Pro R has the Ride Command plus but it won't tell me if it's bumped or moved.
I’m considering a 2025 Northstar but am concerned about the dust. A friend’s 2024 Northstar draws in dust like crazy and the a/c barely cools. The 2025 is that much better? Anywhere I can add a second battery and isolator?

Polaris does do a good job with having keyed wires ready for accessories, but the sportsman HL, dang, they left the orange wire in the same spot, which on an HL, that's in a space about 3/4 the thickness of a finger. That took me 45 min squeezing two finger in there making the connection while ripping them apart on the road fins lol Doing the same job on my touring, 10 min going slowly and having a beer 😊
Great review polaris definitely addressed some issue on the 25 models. So this leads me to the million dollar question! Polaris ranger north star ultimate or the Can Am defender limited, for ride quality, options and durability?
These are both awesome machines and I'm sure a million guys on here will give you their opinions as well. which ever one you choose, just make sure your dealer provides the kind of service you're hoping for...
I have a 2024 Ranger 1000xp North Star , driver door will not stay adjusted , hard to close. they need to change to open from the rear !!! glad they have worked on the shifter. mine is hard to shift. in all for the price i paid it is poor quailty.
i own a 2023 ranger xp 1000….. pretty let down on the build quality for a unit thats over 20g, break issues under 1 month of use…. i mean i do like the machine but polaris quality needs to be stepped up…. also why $$$ for extra parts that should be free and already installed on a 25k machine, ie even a review mirror was a add on….. kinda pathetic on polaris part
i agree, im middleaged and had mine since new. Front diff has sounded like it has marbles in it since new. Leaked water and air since new. Defin not can am quality but at the time I had two guys i know unhappy with the heat issue on the early can am models so I bought a ranger.
Of course. Should note that Kawi opened an assembly plant right down the road from Can-Am's facility in Mexico. Likely one of the reasons Kawi could afford to reduce its prices this season.
I’m sorry but these sxs are insanely over priced. I bought a brand new Silverado for less money than these northstars used…. I see them priced on marketplace for 40 grand or more like wtf😂😂😂
As one of two staffers who has driven the Ridge, I have mixed feelings about it. Agree with the reliability comment because Kawi, but I did not immediately fall in love with the engine like I thought I would. Looking forward to running a Ridge against a Ranger this season for comparison.

@@dirttraxtv I was literally just guided away from the Ridge by an Illinois dealer that carries both the Ridge, as well as the Ranger North Star. He said that there are internal bets on how long it is before the Ridge starts coming back with tweaked frames. His exact words were, "The frames on those things are about the size as my toothbrush". And had about the same thing to say about that inline 4..."If you go into it expecting the punch of your liter bike, you will be sorely disappointed. The better twins feel at least as good". We can maybe call that shooting himself in the foot. I'm not goofy enough to think that thing would even hint at the power of my bike, but, there was a bigger point he was making, and I'm glad he did...I will be picking-up my North-Star middle of next week. Great review!
this guy is a major butt smoocher with manufacturers and lost all credibility with the kawasaki ridge limited. His review on the ridge was so off it was incredible. On the ridge forums you would think they were different sxs.

Just a reminder the Polaris buss bar uses a water tight plug instead of the wire rings. It’s literally plug and play.

Correction, ride command plus is not available on the sportsman touring models (570-1000) or the High Lifters.

You’re seeing quads make more of a comeback because a lot of people are priced out of the sxs market. The sxs market is absolutely ridiculous.

I sat in those seats at the dealer, shockingly comfortable. I was expecting the upright seating to be upright feeling if that makes sense.

You need to update your Pro R ride command software! New update came out for Ride Command in March

Prices are not the same. They are $1500-2000 more then previous year. So you are paying for the roof, winch and bumper. Thinking it’s free.

Except you’ll have transmission problems. Polaris won’t.
Both versions of the Kawasaki ridge are more powerful and same price and will probably be more reliable
