    In Wisconsin they just raised the weight limit for UTVs being able to go on trails to 3000 lbs. The 4 seater Xpedition is just under the limit so able to be on the trails. The 4 seater 1500 is over the 3000 lbs so you wouldn't be able to legally tag it as a rec ATV or drive it on any of the trails up here.

      Wisconsins off road trails are a joke. Want real trails go down to Tennessee or West Virginia to ride some real trails.

    Great Video - I have a 2023 Crew Ultimate - in the HD 1500 - did they make the AC better? I'm disappointed in the cooling ability in mine. Also other gripes - the door handles, and only front electric windows. I did the expensive upgrade on full fosgate sound system...that was a fun install. I really like the upgrades on the 1500....Comments?

      @@rustychambers7816 I really like the idea of the 1500 and think it’s a leap forward for the platform. As they all are it’s expensive and I wish it had a little more hp. But who wouldn’t as we always want more. I haven’t personally used the AC long enough in the 1500 to truly test it out. Although everyone I’ve seen on the forums seem to think the 1500 has the best AC of any Polaris unit. With that said do you live in an extremely hot area? I’ve used my xpedition in 95-100* and it seems to work well. I don’t think any of them are as good as a cheap Honda civic to be honest but they serve the purpose.
      You could have a leak or something causing yours to not work well. Have you talked with the dealer?

      @@americandream_89 Thanks for the reply. I live in an area with very high humidity and summer temps in the upper 90s. I haven't spoken to the dealership about it, but I understand from other owners that it is working as theirs does. The John Deere Gator does have a good AC in it. At least the one I have been in.

    I just traded my 2024 xpedition northstar for a 2024 Polaris Ranger XD 1500. There is no comparison- the XD is more solid and refined platform and can be used for trail or work AND IT IS QUIET- the fit and finish is MUCH better than the Xpedition. I am not bashing the Xpedition but the panels and door fitment need a lot of attention - the rear roof panel is badly warped and deflects down about 1" - Polaris has refused to address this issue and has told me that's just the way it is - I really think Polaris rushed this platform into production without really looking it over - MOST of all the noise is deafening- I have applied sound deadner all over the place, put on 32 inch tires, had the dealer put the clutch weights in and installed a Hunter works belt (that is supposed to drop the RPM by 200 to 300). The major problem with this vehicle - it is geared too low - I do like the looks of the Xpedition though, Once I drove the Ranger I was so impressed that I bought it. So no more clunk at startup, no more high rev noise and hello to a more refined vehicle- I have owned SEVERAL Polaris side by sides including Generals and Rangers - I would place the Xpedition in the middle of the pack only because of the enclosed cab and styling. Both of these machines are just too nice to take through the brush, deep water etc - I submit these machines are best suited for leisure riding and not roughhousing - here are lots of machines out there that you can beat up on IE Razor

      @@captainstk001 thanks for sharing your point of view. It may help others.
      On the other end of the stick if you decided to take that Ranger on rough trails, you would want your expedition back in a hurry. We have several that ride with us in comparison to the xpedition they are so ready to get off the trail after three hours they don’t wanna ride any longer. Both have pros and cons. It truly comes down to what you’re looking to do with the machine if your leisure riding hands down get a Ranger 1500.

      @@americandream_89 Thanks for your comments- I find the Xpedition very tiring because of the constant drone and high revs - not true with the Ranger XD - I find the ride a lot more refined and quieter and from the feedback on line others feel the same - Both machines are nice in their own ways - but I believe the Ranger has had a lot more thought put into it and i shows of the fit and finish - I also find the ride on the Ranger a lot smoother than the Xpedition - frankly I would not recommend the Xpedition - maybe in a couple of years - but not now - of course that is my opinion after running the Xpedition for a year - I also appreciate your viewpoint

    I cannot agree with your assessment of the trail capability of the 1500. I have one. I watched every video from Polaris on what this machine is and how to drive it under all conditions. I follow their directions. This machine handles Arizona technical trails (rocky, steep, hard scrabble, off camber, rutted, etc.) without any problems. I ride it hard, and perhaps the shocks aren't as advanced as what's on the Xpedition, but they still handle the BIG bumps slow and at speed very well, especially with its 15" of ground clearance and 12" of travel. You keep referring to the Xpedition as having a CVT. They both have CVTs. The difference is the type. You cannot drive the intelligent, sealed, steel belted 1500 like a rubber belted CVT. If you do, you will believe the machine isn't a capable trail machine. However, if you forget what you know about rubber belted CVTs and drive the 1500 the way Polaris tells you, you soon find out that it's no less capable, just different from what you're used to. There's a lot of people out there saying "not for trails," and I can't help but believe it's hearsay and a misunderstanding of how to drive this new, game changing and unique machine.

      @@neilforker84 we are 100% riding different terrain. Arizona is open terrain. Here you need all the pep in your step you can get at any given point. The ranger 1500 is very laggy in laying its power down vs the xpedition. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a very capable and excellent machine and I truly enjoy driving it. But xpedition just has the edge in tight woods. It’s also way shorter roof height. I fully understand they’re both CVT. The 1500 is set up like a CVT in a car, though which has the ability to manipulate how power is delivered. That’s something I do not want. I think there’s a lot of things that the Ranger 1500 is better at. But any true trail enthusiast is going to agree that the xpedition on the East Coast is a much better machine.

    • @neilforker84
      @neilforker84 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@americandream_89 BTW, I am in Northern Arizona in the forested lands. Having grown up on the East Coast, I know how the terrain is there. Our Northern forested lands can be very similar and I ride those as well as the desert stuff. So far with the 1500, so good. As far as laggy goes, I have to agree and disagree. That all depends on how you've set the modes. Maybe my brand new buggy has software updates that aren't on yours. I don't know. But I do know that when I'm diff locked and 4 wheel drive in Sport mode, I don't get any more significant lag than my old Ranger had, or a new XP 1000 that I drove. That is especially true in slow speed situations when I use tow/haul mode as Polaris recommends. But hey, that said, everyone has different experiences and opinions, and I'm not dismissing what you're saying. I'm just trying to add a different opinion about the 1500's trail chops

      @ I appreciate you putting your experience on here, your experience will help others. Both are great machines. I’d like to see a xpedition with that motor hopped up and no sensors on the trans. I think mid range it feels stronger than my xpedition but mine has 32s.
