@TurboNosHayabusa1 All speedos are typically +5...10% off. Some even more. It´s not that they are inaccurate, but they are scaled off by manufacturer (because of regulations).
Because the stock gearing gives a slightly higher speed in 5th at the mile distance. To achieve the 299 kph potential would need another 1/2 mile at least and a change into 6th shortly after crossing the mile point. The bike is speed limited in 6th gear and to go beyond 299 kph requires either a change in sprockets so it reaches maximum in 5th or a after market bypass device to eliminate speed limitation. It probably would not go beyond 305 anyway unless downhill with a following wind or ++ hp.
If I'm not a complete ass at counting, the speedo tops out in 5th gear? But I assume that it still pulls in 6th? By the way, anyone knows what changes was made from the 2006 compared to the 2008?
just bought a 2009 monster addition zx-14r ,very impressed with it . but I can't really hammer it because of an injury to my left wrist...if I give it to much I can't hold on...lol
thomas zambelli see your problem, generally if you rely on holding on only with your hands not your body you will eventually come unstuck, also hands should always be light grip on bars or it will effect steering & unsettle bike...
@micarone Yes that is correct. Speed was measured with radar at one mile mark. I also had GPS logger rear of the bike. GPS data was not added to this video because data was partly corrupted (GPS receiver was placed badly). There is nothing magical indeed.
@rottepung666 for the sole purpose of going over 200 mph you can gear a 600 or 1000 to do it, you will take power everywhere from the bike but it will do it. I've seen a guy 230 or more take a hayabusa over 220mph GPS speed so yes size does matter in gaining top speed but not as much as gearing
i have been lookin at one of these for a few days. Its a 08'or 09' with yoshimura slip ons. I want a fast bike and i want something that i can ride to work out of state. I'm pretty sure the price was set at 5700. I'm set on this thing but i'm not sure if im overestimating myself or not, 13 yrs of dirt bike expirience, like dads screamin eagle sportser alot, and didnt think the gixxer750 was fast enough. I weigh about 165 lbs. Is she right for me?
It hit the rev limiter. No harm. It's there to stop overevving and motor damage. It makes the bike shift slower and loses time in acceleration only. These motors are very strong and can stand turbo charging to 300 + hp with a stock motor internals so I think it can tolerate bouncing of the rev limiter.
I agree. I was hard pressed getting my CBR600RR over 140mph (225 km/h) down eastern creek straight. I would have needed at least another mile to get it close to even 165.
why oh why cant it breach 300? Its chipped I believe because it has the extra 500 rpm they typicaly add with the reprogram.. I have a zx7r thats overbored with jets and a set of zx14r sprokets (front and rear) and I do go a bit over 300 over a very long distance if there is no wind. I would have expected the 14r to reach at least 300 easily and then get stuck there because of ECU.
that is true, my limiter was lifted after the power command was installed, i managed to get mine up to 172MPH in 5th gear at about 11k RPM and i was running out of room, i'm guessing i can achieve 190MPH maxed out 6th gear, maybe more idk
last run was pretty much ok until 5th gear where i swithed too early. i also got right side lower fairing loose during that last run. it bended a bit and was like a litle sail, i think heh.
I thought the same thing and if you look closely, it is in KM/H..... there is no way that bike could reach 130MPH in 1st gear, maybe changeing the spocket, but then the bike would be bogging hard
put Power commander V- and the full sistem of the yoshi and use only one pipe no two, can do 320 km/h i thinck with one pipe you reduce about 25 lbs. of weight
I have a quick liter bike Suzuki and mine want do this! At 120mph he would leave me like I was tied to a stump! Mine is a GSX-S1000 with bunch of mods power adder whole nine yards low miles to first set of tires just went on fresh! That matters to! Bikes slow down as they age! I may do a tune up and chain mod before spring! I want one of those sexy 3D chains those are sharp and would go good with my matte gray and black paint scheme!
The bike seems to have quite a fast idle speed - my ZX14 idles about 1,000 rpms even with slip on race cans. Is 1,500 the standard idle or have modifications changed the speed? Nice work.Never done a fast straight run like this but but bike looks really stable. Nice work.
speedo is irrelevant, it´s way off at those speeds... but yes it topped in 5th. I failed about every step in that run (my first one). 08 have little bigger header pipe, different jets and some tweaks made on software (ie. secondaries open way faster, providing more low rpm torque). thx for watching that old clip.
@markgoodrich yea most of todays superbikes can do it (300kmph), if speed limiter is disabled and driver is skilled enough. imo it´s more about skill with stock bikes?
Did you remove the speed governor? Its been known to kick in early. On your 2nd run its almost like you hit it. Or had too much gear to pull through. Get a full exhaust and HP doesn't fall off a cliff after 9500 rpm as it does with the stock header. Should pull much better in high rpm range.
Atleast i cant understand the logic behind that... A 1000cc bike like r1 nd cbr1000 are gone on 299 top speed.. Nd a 1400cc bike goes jist on 292 max instead of going more speed then 299 kmph....
speed master of YOUNGMACHINE 2011 : zzr 1400 2011 : 298.99 km/h hayabusa 2011 : 298 km/h but... with the speed restriction from 2001... without : 310 or 315 approx
@101419960 Uhh no it can hit 300 km/h MAYBE. 300 mph is not possible with any street bike or car for that matter.. The fastest street car can barely hit 269 or so mph and it takes a few miles to get there.
May god be with you my good sir.
Music to my ears!
Amazing how effortlessly it gets to top speed!
@TurboNosHayabusa1

It is shift-light, indicating when you should shift gear. It was set to trigger at 10.000 rpm (setting is lil too low, and I didn´t watch it at all)
That awkward moment when you "slow down" to highway speeds.
#Facts
That is so true! Feels weird.
hey bro can i use 10 seconds of your video? i will give you credtis in the description
sure
mckiltti thanks bro. Its a parody btw
300kph is like around 186mph and 320kph is around 200mph i think
If I'm not a complete ass at counting, the speedo tops out in 5th gear? But I assume that it still pulls in 6th? By the way, anyone knows what changes was made from the 2006 compared to the 2008?
@theduderwiggysan Yes I had GPS logger and top speed was measured with radar.
@kbradshaw880 It`s on descripion (km/h).
40 l/100km what the hell?
Great run man excellent video
just bought a 2009 monster addition zx-14r ,very impressed with it . but I can't really hammer it because of an injury to my left wrist...if I give it to much I can't hold on...lol
thomas zambelli use your legs tight to tank
Pulls way to hard to do that
thomas zambelli I do it fine
I am only 5'4" and I have a bad wrist so it is a little bit difficult for me.
thomas zambelli see your problem, generally if you rely on holding on only with your hands not your body you will eventually come unstuck, also hands should always be light grip on bars or it will effect steering & unsettle bike...
the light flashing is telling him to shift notice it comes on when he red lines ( goes to high on rpms)
@micarone Yes that is correct. Speed was measured with radar at one mile mark. I also had GPS logger rear of the bike. GPS data was not added to this video because data was partly corrupted (GPS receiver was placed badly). There is nothing magical indeed.
Anyone can send me a link how to shift smoothly?
@hey12delila
Yoshimura R-22 slip-ons.
Sound were recorded with Yamaha C24 and synchronized to video when editing.

i thought 600cc were about 165mph - 1000cc were about 180mph and the over 1000cc's but I'm referring to hayabusa and zx14 were over 200mph?
i have been lookin at one of these for a few days. Its a 08'or 09' with yoshimura slip ons. I want a fast bike and i want something that i can ride to work out of state. This two wheel rocketship accelerate like a rocket, hungry for speed!
Yes it goes faster, my best so far at one mile is 190mph with speed limiter removed.
It hit the rev limiter. No harm. It's there to stop overevving and motor damage. It makes the bike shift slower and loses time in acceleration only. These motors are very strong and can stand turbo charging to 300 + hp with a stock motor internals so I think it can tolerate bouncing of the rev limiter.
i just bought a 2008 zx14,and i love it ,,,best bike ever,,
What I would not give to have somewhere like that to try out my '09...cool!
@kbradshaw880 300mph is 480kmh.. if it goes above 230 then u can be sure its kmh
Whats magical is that he did a mile in 18 seconds.
i love riding this bike.
God this looks like so much fun!!!!!!!!!!! Id like to get my Fireblade out and do this!
this on different gearing? mine is on stock sprokets and it clocks 145kmp/h in 1st gear. your seems to get about 120. but mine is also a '06 gen 1
I agree. I was hard pressed getting my CBR600RR over 140mph (225 km/h) down eastern creek straight. I would have needed at least another mile to get it close to even 165.
I do love my 14
This is amazing!
why oh why cant it breach 300? Its chipped I believe because it has the extra 500 rpm they typicaly add with the reprogram.. Damn thats pretty good, the best i had my R6 up to is 158 and there wasn't much more left on the bike, pretty much maxed out
Where install your camera?
whats that decal around your key switch say or mean
"immobilizer"
so if you make 285 with 5 gear 300-310 6 gear?
that 299 kmh
That is smokin' fast.
last run was pretty much ok until 5th gear where i swithed too early. i also got right side lower fairing loose during that last run. it bended a bit and was like a litle sail, i think heh.

Include measured speeds in description also :) Noticed also that last speed was long time same maybe crosswinds..
I have a quick liter bike Suzuki and mine want do this! At 120mph he would leave me like I was tied to a stump! Where was this?
Beautiful sound !! What exhaust ?
+Gatonzola Yoshimura slip-ons.

First and last run looked more like 289 according to ur speedo. Nice video
E essa mota num puxa não é 320 km não ?
Just bought one this morning. Fucking missile.
Thinking about getting one as my next bike. How you getting on with it?
Doesn't it have a limiter on the speed so you can't go above 186? So theoretically I can go 190 or 200. Awesome
speedo is irrelevant, it´s way off at those speeds... but yes it topped in 5th. I failed about every step in that run (my first one).
08 have little bigger header pipe, different jets and some tweaks made on software (ie. secondaries open way faster, providing more low rpm torque).
thx for watching that old clip.
how did you remove the limiter?
Your bike have Ram Air? Nice Rocket!
Gearing ?? 16/42?? Thanks
yea
but can it
skin a seal...
this video is in KPH?
Did you take off on second gear..?
no, but at first run i didnt´t use sixth gear...
You seem to love the rev limiter huh?
You need to shift pre rev limiter
The first and third run he only went up to 5th gear, the second run up to 6th gear
@markgoodrich yea most of todays superbikes can do it (300kmph), if speed limiter is disabled and driver is skilled enough. imo it´s more about skill with stock bikes?
So wait why does it top out in 5th?

greit å mimre litt om motorsykkeln fra gammeldagan
I think we need a new sprocket
yes, enjoy
@TurboNosHayabusa1
It´s not for the looks, it is because of regulations. Google "speedometer regulations" :)
Was That The Governer Choking It???
Did you start with second(2) gear?
@TurboNosHayabusa1
You do realize that is Km/h and not MPH, don't you?
2:45 Beautiful engine sound =)
0:51 the best sound *-*
Nice shifting...?
300 km/h sta pricate 292 ????
mph or kmh
+Darnell Brown KPH!!
Ok
kmh beacause Finland
Interesting 292 for a zx14 seems a bit slow my old 04 zx9r went 285 well max I had it was that bit under a mile
Atleast i cant understand the logic behind that...
A 1000cc bike like r1 nd cbr1000 are gone on 299 top speed..
Nd a 1400cc bike goes jist on 292 max instead of going more speed then 299 kmph....
Horsepower > CC
Bikes limited to 186mph
The man holding the sign was board as fvck.
kph or mph
I am Bubdude1231 KPH
he was only learning to ride it on the last run
It goes almost 300?
Dalton Duckett I think its speed is over 300 KPH. Who cares anyway. Its the fastest accelerating bike out there ;)
I hit 185 MPH with a my Blackbird once, and I undestand the adrenaline U felt at this speeds
yes, 306 (gps speed) is my best so far.
same,same,same???
speed master of YOUNGMACHINE 2011 :
zzr 1400 2011 : 298.99 km/h
hayabusa 2011 : 298 km/h
but... with the speed restriction from 2001...
without : 310 or 315 approx
nice over rev
292? that was way past 300. must've been 310 judging by where the 280 mark is.
bike speedometer always off
Ei tätä voi kun rakastaa
a 120km/h at first gear o_O
nice one
@101419960 Uhh no it can hit 300 km/h MAYBE. 300 mph is not possible with any street bike or car for that matter.. The fastest street car can barely hit 269 or so mph and it takes a few miles to get there.
Had one ... Blowed up real good
Dear santa...
oh shit nice acceleration o.O
