This is so true. See I'm no content creator but I'm definitely a consumer here. And honestly it kinda feels not good when I see one video that has blown up but the channel has nothing else to watch
Love that he's helping smaller creators with his consulting, but at the same time you can directly trace a lot of the oversaturation of sponsor blocks back to Matt. I remember when a smaller channel I watched posted on Twitter that they were consulting with him and suddenly their decently targeted sponsors were replaced with Raid and Manscaped and Hello Fresh. I understand the need to make money to do more things with your channel, but it just isn't in keeping with the spirit of content creation.

As much as I really don't watch Matpat anymore, can't deny what he says or promotes for stuff like that does make sense. Does suck with the oversaturation though.
I prerecorded a few videos before launching my channel, and made a few in the first week or two as well. Establishing your early audience is definitely key
This actually makes so much sense, I had my channel for a long time not uploading but just as my personal channel, then I started uploading once a week, I’d get some views from my friends who were in discord servers as me which was enough, but then I started uploading more of a series that would appeal to a wider audience and not only did those videos get fairly big, for a small channel at least the numbers have been bigger than I could have possibly imagined, but my other videos started to get a few more views as well, not crazy but there was some trickle down, very informative
The only issue I can see with this is that when someone like matpat creates a new channel his subscribers will move over to it but if somebody's starting out starts a channel it's not going to be this huge change it's going to be very small and very slow in reality
That's only the growing scale due to him being a celebrity, but following this advice will just be better than not doing so, he's just saying to release 5+ videos when you opened the channel, so your viewers can actually get engaged or you getting more watchtime overall.
MatPat: Has experience on TH-cam and is extremely smart and intricate with every video Dream and 3am channels: Screams so 4-8 year olds are entertained
His point is that you should do quantity over quality for a year even if those videos are bad & the mistake that people make is thinking that they don’t belong so you keep less videos even though you shouldn’t. A shit channel is better at the start because at least you have a channel, not a near-empty channel
Matpat is actually a trustworthy guy not only bc he's very kind but also bc he knows how to be professional, or he has a more professional mindset that is pretty useful, I'm not saying other youtubers are just dumb and aren't professional in any way
I agree this one guy I know started a yt Channel with like 2 vids on it and they were pretty popular they got a bunch of views but after that he waited like 2 weeks to post again and by that time everyone forgot about his channel and it just ended right there since no one was watching it meaning no time on recommendations meaning no more watch time etc
I wish I would've had this advice a year ago when I first started my channel omg. This is the best advice I've ever heard and it's so true and helpful!
I also think having the same type of content for the five videos is good. For example if you show Skyrim guides, it would be better to have other guides rather than other games

Wow this is actually good advice, I was expecting some "never give up!!" bs
Well that explains food theory...
He actually did this with fashion theory.
This guy is an actual businessman. I'm baffled by how competent he seems.
Am I the only watching this after his quitting TH-cam video
No 😢😢
He ain't quitting he is stepping back from being the host and let other people be the host
No
MatPat: Has experience on TH-cam and is extremely smart and intricate with every video
Dream and 3am channels: Screams so 4-8 year olds are entertained
I love how Wilbur is just there with his spray gun 🤣
@Nako_x🔞👇 idc
why did matpat with a beard kinda look like tobey maguire, or just me? 😂
He actually did this with the new channel Style theory. It was uploaded with 5 videos already on it!
I’m so sad Matt pat why do you leave us with theory’s that are unsolved😢
“Ehhhhoooooehhhh just think about it”
His point is that you should do quantity over quality for a year even if those videos are bad & the mistake that people make is thinking that they don’t belong so you keep less videos even though you shouldn’t. A shit channel is better at the start because at least you have a channel, not a near-empty channel
Matpat is actually a trustworthy guy not only bc he's very kind but also bc he knows how to be professional, or he has a more professional mindset that is pretty useful, I'm not saying other youtubers are just dumb and aren't professional in any way
"Okay, so I just need five videos, right?"
Year two of making a second video:
Hahaha same
Lol that's me
Sometimes I upload like every 2 days and sometimes a month.
But hey, that’s JUST a theory. A TH-cam THEORY! Thanks for watching.
What's your YT
Thank you MATPAT!
And thank you for clipping this or I wouldn’t do well when I start my channel.
Bye Matpat. Just know that you have left a big impact on everyone and that you will be missed.
him: 5 videos would take them about a week to watch
me: watches 50 vids in one day bc i have nothing else in my life
Worst Day Of My Life
I'm gonna miss Matpat...
I'll remember this thank you matpat
I love how this comes out after MatPat decides to retire
This came out 2 years ago
@@beef3442 Damn my bad
Why do I feel like the sigma male rule theme should be playing right now?
I wish I would've had this advice a year ago when I first started my channel omg. This is the best advice I've ever heard and it's so true and helpful!
I'm so glad!
Rip 2011-2024😢 he will be missed
I now think sans is ness
probably the best advice i’ve heard regarding keeping a channel
I wish I’d seen this a few months back. That’s so helpful
o7 Matpat, he is leaving and I'll miss him.
Why he sell his channel?
@@Ryanlexz He didn't sell it, he just retired cus he's tired..
I also think having the same type of content for the five videos is good. For example if you show Skyrim guides, it would be better to have other guides rather than other games
