    Nice work! Not many folks realize how important the larger piping is. It has less pressure drop for moving air and flows more air at the same.

    Great system! I think you should consider J.W. Hunt's suggestion and get a condenser to use as an after cooler immediately after the compressor pump. This will pre-cool and condense the air before it gets to any of your receivers. You can drain the condensate before your receivers as well.

    Hope they don't blow up and kill you

    With a screw compressor having a large receiver is almost mandatory. They really don't like to cycle on and off.

    there is a video on youtube where a guy uses a air conditioner condenser as a dryer and he says it works great. I havn't tried it yet.

    did you coat the inside of tanks to stop the rust issues?

    Good vid, that's a massive amount of air. What kind of work were you doing that needed that that much air?

      Painting and running body shop tools

      Oldsmob455 Nice, it looks good. My OCD would never allow me to stack two tanks like that haha.

    I have passed up several large air tanks for scrap price because I'm honestly freaked out working next to an old rusty air bomb. It sets my mind at ease seeing someone who evidently knows what they're doing using these tanks. Did you have your tanks professionally tested or did you do it yourself? How do you ensure that they are safe and good to go? I am thinking about making a windmill compressor system, but would need a thousand gallons or more of storage to make it practical. Also considering a 10ft deep storage pit...

      I'm no compressor expert, anything can happen. Consult your local expert before building anything. This is not a how to video.

      I'll eventually scrap these things and run a single new 250 gallon tank.

      with that much rust, i suspect the sheet metal at the bottom is at least 60% gone. Two big tanks like that = 1 MOAB ready to blow.

      I would've put them in a small plastic shed outside with an auto drain. And if they blew up. No big deal. Outside on the opposite side of the house

    How long did it take to fill

    • @Oldsmob455
      @Oldsmob455  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      CHARLES BRONSON Turns on at just over 100psi, runs 3:09 seconds to full at 145psi (no load during fill). Then it continues to run unloaded for six minutes unless another call for air is received and it all starts over again.. That's all 252 gallons plus the line.
