Thrust for supporting axial load while journal will support radial load. They dont move together with shaft. The thing that rotates with shaft is thrust collar which is sandwiched between inboard and outboard thrust pad of a thrust bearing
Dear engineer/ Can you explain to me for this type of compressor using for which apply due to I working as overhulling centrifugal chiller. and I need to know this compressor working with refrigeration system or oil gas. Best regards Ali Metwally
good video but very poor safety practices, technicians, helpers were working heavy parts with bare hands, without safety glass especially the guy fitting thrust disk with very high hydraulic pressure.
Hi! I've got a question: "where does the rotor lean when it's dropped inside the diaphragm bundle ?" the journal bearings are supposed to center the rotor radial position, and their assembly it's not happening until long after the rotor lowering inside the bundle... thanks
It can only be resting on the labyrinth seals, I’m supposing they can handle the weight over their distance, when we assemble rotors we have two dummy halves that go in to support the load, also we would never lift or lower components without a chain block between the crane hook and component. I guess these guys must be American?
This is in Florence, these guys are Italians... the place is called NUOVO PIGNONE, it’s not GE anymore, now we are Baker Hughes... I work there as test engineer
MCL is horizontally split and the BCL is barrel type. There is also a PCL which is specifically built for pipelines, which requires that the inlet and exit flanges are at the same plane. But none of these are important; glorious days of Oil&Gas are gone, we need to look at alternate energy ressources. Fossile energy is old shit, and so is BHGE.
