      Glad to help out. Just download the manuals and have at it. It's a Harley, not a space shuttle.

    Great video, I am in the UK and just went on amazon to check the price of
    the redline big twin pack and over here it will cost me £234 which is $333 at todays rates. Really is annoying how we
    get ripped off over here to own a Harley. Have watched a few of your vids, keep up the good work.

      That sucks. I wonder if a mail forwarding company would be a viable option to get things sent over the pond at a decent price.

      Build them there and that will solve your being " ripped off " by Harley Davidson.

    I think that funnel would work better if the bike was on the ground and leaned over on the kick stand. great video just got me a 18 fat bob today.

    I have almost 100,000 miles on my HD with the same primary gasket from the day I bought it. FYI

    Love that you let your little girl help out! Love the bike man! Especially the wrap on the pipes. I know in another video you were saying there was a ton of heat coming off the pipes, did the wrap help out? I've only been riding since June of 2017, and looking at this bike to upgrade once I can sell my sporty.

    • @averageguyantics409
      @averageguyantics409  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The wrap def helped out. I was on a 5-hour trip back from the mountains and actually melted a bit of my textile pants before wrapping the pipes. Now I'm not worried about cookin my britches.

    Would putting a 15w60 or 10w60 help with the engine temps.

    Should you have checked the oil level with the bike on the kick stand, instead of straight up ?????

    I would keep the fork tubes clean. I have an HD XR 1200 with inverted forks. Look just like yours. They leak every year. Are your forks 33mm?

    Hey, thanks for the vids. I want this bike. Would you be willing to email me and tell me how much you paid. I am not happy at all with what my local dealer has offered, basically nothing off sticker and after extra fees came in 2k above sticker.

    114 in lbs is too much torque on derby cover bolts. Seriously you only need about 40 in lbs. Over time the bolts can seize up in that derby cover with that much tq. You'll end up rounding out a torx head bolt ...
    I realize your manual may say 114 in lbs...but my manual says 25-35 in lbs. 2019 soft tail.
    Word to the wise...

    • @franciscvarga1212
      @franciscvarga1212 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2018 has larger derby cover with bigger bolts, 2019 has smaller derby cover with smaller bolts and the gasket is on the primary casing side.

    • @dstevens4673

      @@franciscvarga1212
      Nope. My 2019 ultra has same size derby and bolts. Doesnt matter, 114 inch lbs is too much. But do whatever u want bro.
      Some softails have smaller derby covers but still 40 inch lbs or so is plenty. There is no pressure on the cover only occasional splash of oil. No need crank all that torque on tiny bolts.

    • @franciscvarga1212
      @franciscvarga1212 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D Stevens narrow derby cover bolts are 15 to 25 in/lbs

      144 is way too much torque and will strip the threads. Will probably have to tap new ones or get a whole new outer primary cover.
