Yoy guys should do this stuff at my house on the lift table. All that working on the ground makes me sad for you.

The more careful you are the more likely to spill oil everywhere.... hilarious!

Always measure belt tension with the bike on the ground.

Thanks for pointing that out. On my other bikes with chains (Triumphs) I always do chain tension with bike on ground. He knows Harley's better than I do so I figured he was doing it the right way. But yeah makes sense for it to be on the ground

A couple hundred bucks…? You mean at least a thousand here in south Florida at the Harley dealership. Full service, adjust cables from the stretch, tighten up the screws from the manufacturer and 800 labor hours that doesn’t add up lol

Y'all missed a major thing, adjusting the clutch in the primary. It's not just clutch cable play at the clutch lever.

Although it wasn’t shown on video it has been done recently

To answer the question, yeah do it yourself and not only save $600 from what the stealership will charge, but you also get a life lesson. Even if it takes you a day. What else were you going to do that day? Win/win.

No disrespect but this clown show video would convince most non-mechanically inclined motorcycle owners to take it to the dealership where some kid right out of tech school will do the job. You guys need a system, right? Syn3 is swill. Use Mobil1 or AMSOIL. Gear oil in the tranny. A K&N oil filter. I've been running primary oil in the chaincase but motor oil is probably fine. If you're going to slobber oil all over the driveway put down a tarp or something. Get yourself a service manual (I prefer Clymer) and put some high temp anti-seize on the drain plug threads and torque to spec. I go a bit over spec on drain plugs.

Everyone likes to do it their own way. As long as you stick to what the manual calls for, no harm no foul. You can ask 10 people what to use in what hole and you’ll probably get 3 different answers.

Manual says forumula+ in tranny or Syn 3

@@Mudslidex1 I like how Mr know it all called you guys clowns but clarified “no disrespect” and uses anti seize on the oil drain bolt when them threads are already lubricated with oil

@@ehiggins7476 lol. The one thing I know for sure is you can't please everyone and no matter what you do or how good you do it, someone always has a better way. :)

Not “probably”, motor oil IS 100% absolutely fine, but what clown uses anti-seize on drain plugs? Then comes on the internet and calls others clowns while admitting it…
