If I had access to a private jet, I would not have flown commercially to begin with especially if it were for a honeymoon. That would be totally romantic.

That is the creepiest MIL laugh ever. The MIL has an unnatural bond with her son. Divorce or cutting ties are the only answers. I don’t think just anyone can use your ticket because it needs to match the name on your ID.

Not all married couples live together for various reasons, usually work or family or both.
Why don't the people in these stories ever buy round-trip tickets? I have never flown ANYWHERE - and I've flown quite a bit - without having my return ticket in hand before I depart. Yeah, this one sounds especially suspect...if her uncle was so free with his private jet he would have just put Harry and Sharon on it in the first place. And come on: you don't change the departure time from morning to afternoon because you're pretty much locked in when you buy your tickets.

These stories originate in Japan, China, and other Asian countries. The marriage and inheritance and financial laws may be different than the country you live in there may even be different family traditions that aren't easily understood. These stories are edited for dramatic affect. Sometimes, the translation from one language to another doesn't always make proper grammatical sense. Just enjoy the story for what it's entertainment.

I follow Taiwan TH-camrs. Maybe they are exceptional, because even though the videos are in Chinese, most have a pretty decent command of English. One guy is a White guy originally from North Carolina and might be a citizen now. He bought a house and it's tough for foreigners to buy property. Not much of a southern accent. He was on a hiking trail. Talks to an older guy wearing a US Navy baseball cap about a particular ship. Guy asks "Where you from?" NC guy says "North Carolina". Taiwan guy says "Where's your accent?".
It's estimated that maybe up to 40% of the population knows English to some degree. Accent wise it might be a struggle, because they most likely don't use the language everyday. Most signs put up by the government are in Chinese and English. Taipei City Hall, says "Taipei City Hall" above the entrance. It's not that they love us, they realize that English is the common language of business and commerce.
No one in these videos has ever heard of language conversion apps for phones or web pages where you can do translations. Microsoft has a good phone app for Android. Speak/type your language and what comes out the language you want in text and speech. You could then give the phone to the other party and they'd do the same and you'd see and hear English.
Google Lens is great for pointing the camera at text and getting it replaced with the language of your choice. Only issue is with stuff on a red background. Red is a very popular background color for Chinese characters.
While these language translations apps are useful there are certain things you and the other person must do if you are using the voice translation. First you must talk in a clear distinct voice and pronounce the words correctly. I have seen people using these language translation apps who either spoke too fast for the device to understand half of the words or mispronounced the words. Also these language translation apps are never used by anyone in the USA who works for the government whether it’s federal, state, county, or local governments. If they need to talk with someone and they don’t speak the person’s language they will find a coworker who does speak the language for them as they do not want the person they want to talk to to misunderstand something. For those of you living in the USA who are fluent in more than one language besides English if you are interested in working for the government (your choice of which branch) this might be an opportunity you might want to consider looking into how to apply for such a position. I do not work for any government office and I only know that this is the policy after hearing a government worker answer a person’s question about using a language translation app.

Actually most airport desk staff speak English especially continental airports or there are translators on hand this is after all the 21st century and not the early 20th
