I’ve got the EEW Nano2 and absolutely LOVE it! My go-to yarns are lace weight once plied: 30-40 WPI once plied (2-ply). This little wheel does those ultra-fine yarns like a champ. I did test thicker gauges and for fun I re-plied a 2-ply into a cabled yarn just to see if I could do so on this little wheel. Well, it didn’t even blink. It just… went for it. I took some commercial yarn that was thicker and plied it, for funsies. It did. No issues. I’ve yet to try navajo ply on it. I’ve seen videos.of it done on the EEW Nano or the Nano2 and it should work but I didn’t get around to yet. It might take some practice and adjusting the technique to prevent the wheel from slipping as there’s more friction. It’ll be interesting. Thanks for the video! And… I absolutely love that sample yarn you made! 😍
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was having a hard time with my yarn not winding on and I got super frustrated until I found your video and looked my wheel over again and noticed my band wasn't in the correct groove. Now it it working correctly and I'm so happy to have stumbled across your video on my recommended list.
Thank you for your video, it was very useful sharing your knowledge even for me and I'm an avid spinner and I've had a nano for a while now. I love spinning on my nano she's my go to wheel when I go to group meetings. It's true some may loose their patience when adjusting this wheel, I don't find it a problem myself, and I don't know why people think you can't ply on it, that's just silly of course you can, I've even done Navajo plying and it did a great job, you do need to adjust the tension as you go but you even have to do that with a regular treadle wheel. I have other wheels, but now that I'm getting older, I found they were getting too heavy to lug around but my little nano is perfect to take places. And it's perfect for very fine spinning because the bobbins only take 2oz or a tad more if you want to try squeezing more on, so you don't have a big bobbin to try and fill its just the right size. Once again thank you for your video. Cheers from Tasmania!
I can’t get any uptake, I’ve taken a break from spinning but I decided to get my nano out and forget everything, so I watched your video which is very helpful but I’ve tightened the tension a lot and still nothing😢
I am ready and eager to try spinning. I purchased the nano 1.0 when it first came out but haven't used it yet. Your video was exactly what I needed - a terrific explanation of all of the parts with close-up video. Thank you so much!!
My Nano 2.0 is arriving this week and I'm so glad I found your video while I wait for it! You make it seem very do-able. I have a long road of learning ahead though, i'm quite sure.
This video is chock full of good info for someone just grasping the ways of this spinner. I needed to know about setting the tension (in such a subtle way!) Great information! Well done!

I have a big Louet wheel, but it's the type that can only do thicker yarns, which frustrates me, because I like knitting with thinner yarns. This little guy looks like the perfect companion!
@@jenthulhu That is awesome! Glad you are enjoying it! It is a wonderful little wheel. Be sure to take breaks carpel tunnel is no fun, but I know it is hard! Especially with a new wheel! I did the same when mine came it can be very addictive lol! Take care and hope you have a wonderful day!
Super video. One question: Why wind it onto a wool winder and center feed it? Why not feed the plys straight from your lazy Kate? Was this because you didn't have enough bobbins or because you wanted to make the PLY from that one ball? I want to buy one, and use DK 99% of the time. So a first time spinner (future) I want to buy something that is ideal for my yarn requirements. I had heard the nano was fine yarns so thanks for dispelling that myth.
It makes a nice DK yarn yes; I was unable to chain ply on it though. The only reason I used a center pull ball was because I only had a sample and just spun it all on one bobbin, I have the upgrade from the 1.0 and have 6 bobbins. I suppose I could have spun half on one bobbin and half on another and plied on a 3rd but just got mesmerized in the process of spinning and spun it all in one sitting 🤣 You are very welcome thank you so much for your comment and question I am glad you enjoy my videos! 💕
