    I just got my Nano 2 . I’m going to play with it again this evening. I’m glad I watched this video.

    Perfect! You covered all the must know items, and enough of the 'how to' for noobs to get started. I can't wait for the explosion of spinning activity that will happen once people start to receive their Nanos.

    Instead of scotch tape if you use a little Velcro “dot” on your bobbin it works much better and isn’t as fiddly as using tape. Lasts longer too.

    I'm a complete spinning noob and found this video very comprehensive and helpful. Can't wait to get my nano wheel!!!

    Finally picked my EEW back up as I've been dying to spin. Couldn't figure out why my yarn was underspun and not going on the bobbin. Turns out my brake band was far too tight! It is now at a manageable tension. Still getting used to even drafting, but now I have a better spin on my yarn and thus far less frustrated!
    Thank you for making such an affordable (and tight-space friendly) machine! As well as this great video to help newbies like myself.

    I just got mine for Christmas and I am in love! I did a quick spin and I love that I am finally getting an even spin. Thank you

    I don’t have this particular brand of e spinner but I still found the video to be very instructive. Thank you!

    Thanks for making such a clear, helpful demonstration of using the Nano, and the basics of spinning. I am hoping to give spinning a try soon(ish) and the Nano seems like the perfect option for me. I'm putting it on my birthday list!

    At his is excellent! Please could you make it clearer how you adjust the tension brake, though.

      Once you have it, I think it will be obvious. There is just a slot and you pull the cord. It is pretty easy once you have it in front of you.

    • @DreamingRobotsBlog
      @DreamingRobotsBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That lazy kate is just one my wife has from one of her treadle wheels. I couldn't find the exact lazy kate, but this one is similar: woolery.com/majacraft-universal-tensioned-lazy-kate.html

    • @OvisAriesFarm
      @OvisAriesFarm 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love it too! Just FYI though, you can make a lazy kate from a shoebox and straight knitting needles or narrow dowels. Doubles as a carrying box for your Nano and supplies too!

      A great plying trick is to put your lazy kate as far behind you as possible while plying. What this does is help even out the twist in your singles before you ply, which makes your yarn a lot more consistent. This is a trick learned from Alden Amos’s big book on handspinning. Excellent reference and would def be my one “desert island” spinning book!

    Got my wheel and love it but now I can't get it to pull the spun yarn through. It keeps twisting it but not putting it on the bobbin. I tried adjusting the tension and it either logs the motor down too slowly or it spins it and no uptake at all. Any ideas?

      Make sure you tape the lead yarn so it does not slip

    This is first time spinning for me ... glad I found my nano. I too had trouble with overspinning the yarn... then it bunches up and won’t collect on the bobbin. I found that if I tightening the tension helps but then I’ve found the holes in the triangular wires are too small... they tend to “catch” the fibers thus stopping it from winding. Do you offer larger wire triangles or is there a substitute for them? Thank you for your help.

    • @DreamingRobotsBlog
      @DreamingRobotsBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't. The nano isn't very good at spinning thick yarn like you are probably spinning. I would suggest spinning thinner yarn. Some people do sell 3d printed sliding hooks but thinner yarn is usually the better solution, especially for new spinners.

  • @yelenav1285

    Hi I watched your video numerous time and no matter what I do I still have over twist and of course yarn doesn’t go to a bobbin not to mention that low speed is not working!!! Very frustrating any advice?!

    • @DreamingRobotsBlog
      @DreamingRobotsBlog  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the flyer is spinning then the yarn either has to have uptake or twist unless it isn't threaded correctly. I can't really guess at what is wrong from your description. There are some longer videos about spinning on the EEW Nano here: www.dreamingrobots.com/eew-nano/

    Is there some way too hook up a variable-speed footswitch (like on a sewing machine) to the Nano?

    • @DreamingRobotsBlog
      @DreamingRobotsBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's probably possible, but it would be quite hard since the pedal would need to handle the PWM.
