There's so many things to love about Lightspeed Rescue The rangers are young adults The rangers identities are public The rangers have man made weapons and zords The rangers enemies are literal demons from hell that's pretty metal for Power Rangers The Titanium Ranger was the first American made Power Ranger ever Like so many awesome things about Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue and it's not just underrated it's also in my opinion one of the more unique seasons of Power Rangers for all these reasons
When it first came out I wanted no part of it. But about 7 years ago I saw it at Walmart fairly cheap bought it and loved it. It got me back into power rangers.
I have always said that, Lightspeed rescue was SUCH an underrated and amazing season, it's bc everyone got used to seasons like Zeo, in space, time force, spd etc. and Lightspeed rescue took it down a notch and went nonchalant with their season and it went unnoticed and that ending when everything exploded and they had to all swim out I loved it and we can't forget about the titanium ranger
I actually liked Lightspeed Rescue. It was literally down to earth and pretty chill. I also thought Vipra was kinda cool, the cheesy acting was just funny and fun to watch honestly. Carter also looked like he may be related to Leon S. Kennedy. And the card demon that summons the monster has a unique and interesting design. Also the Train Zord is badass AF.
This was my favorite Power Rangers. Carter is not only just a badass Red Ranger, he’s relatable. He personally wants to be like his childhood hero who saves him from a burning building. And when he tries to be, he learns that he makes mistakes like forgetting to put out the fire first and then revert back to fighting cardboard monsters in a training exercise. All these stories showed why he’s a best Red Ranger in my opinion. Nobody is perfect at doing everything.
And also one of the few Rangers series that the public are aware of the Rangers' identities which SPD, Ovdrive and RPM (and perhaps Time Force?) followed suit. At the same introduced theAmerican exclusive ranger which is Titanium Ranger.
Well it definitely gave us one of the most badass fucking red rangers ever. Kelsey's an underrated babe. The Lost Galaxy crossover had a few Duds in it but I still respect it for being different than the fact that it's a rescue team where their identities aren't a secret. The Titanium Ranger was one of the best American ideas in the whole franchise so maybe underrated? It definitely has Merit
I LOVED this season! So much good things to say, but the characters and story were really, and the THEME was killer. I think a modern reboot could use the Lightspeed team and make the show more grounded like a Pacific rim kind thing. Also, awesome interview, great video!!!
Definitely an underrated season among the fandom. It brought the soap lol. Plus, it’s one of the most original Power Rangers seasons (context ig) ever. It was sandwiched between two much more memorable seasons with more relatable characters though.
@@Deragon0416I certainly don’t remember PRLG being considered a flop. Ratings went down again, but the season itself was still considered a solid “sister” season to PRIS with its space theme. Lightspeed was definitely seen as more of a step down after the previous two years, as it had more filler eps and had a less intense tone, with many criticizing the lack of Titanium Ranger beyond his origin arc. That being said, I still think it’s an underrated season.
As someone who was in high school when this season came out, you can see how much of a time capsule it is. You can almost guarantee that you will never get away with some of the stuff they did in future installments. If anything, it set the precedent for some of the more serious seasons
I saw this season when I was growing up and I honestly enjoyed it and have heard some people say they became fire fighters paramedics police because the rangers made it cool for them.. 10/10 honestly
Definitely underrated. While it did have too many filler eps for my taste, and kinda lacked the sense of urgency of the previous two seasons, it was still a solid season in its own right. Such a fun entry to the PR universe.
15:38 This is one of my favorite seasons of all time, especially on the nostalgic side of things. I have the Tiatanium Ranger Curse of the Cobra VHS, I still have it with me. I watched the episodes on fox kids thanks to my mom's vhs and also have the power rangers game for the ps1. It was a full power rangers lightspeed rescue experience while growing up. I had only one toy of that season but I complete a small collection 5 years ago. Hasbro is wasting a huge opportunity of not giving this season more love, specially on the gaming side of things
Thank you for giving more love to lightspeed Rescue. This video was very neat. Chad is still one of my all time favorite blue rangers. I always thought his character was dope, and I loved that he dated a mermaid, even though I thought Chad & Kelsey were an even better match, however I also like the mermaid Marina too. I also love Dana. I like her spirit and daring attitude in battle. I think both Chad and Dana are underrated as well. I like Ryan a lot too. He has such a cool story. I certainly don't agree with every observation you made but I respect that those are your opinions. This season certainly needs more love! Great job dude, E-squad for life!
Lol while the Dana being a pediatrician explanation is funny. Its feasable giving the fact that her specialty was in the medical field. in addition Her dad being the Captain of a Gov organization and probably starting her off very early in her life "for 18 years I have been training you for this"(first episode) with the addition of being a ranger herself, her dad could've pulled strings for her to get her liscence.
Add to this the fact that she’s at most a year younger than her brother, who turns 21, at his introduction, she was most likely already a med student at that point, and she was definitely a fully trained medic.
I was born in 95 and LSR is the series that I remember most. They way the jump through their shapes to morph and the pattern like "paints" on their suits was magical to me as a kid.
I like Lightspeed, its biggest issue is it’s really overshadowed by the seasons before it and Time Force being right after. It has some good storylines, I think the new music was finding its footing, plus Carter is one of my favorite red rangers
A few episodes earlier, when Ryan became good and joined team, he told his sister Dana that he would not leave and this is where he belongs. A few episodes later he leaves
Definitely underated, its scary as hell and thats always a plus in my book. I remember as a kid my mom took me to work sometimes, so on this one day i waited in some room with some other girl and watched the light speed rescue, she ended up crying and i just remember being confused at her 🤣🤣 good times. The Sentai version is pretty awesome too even though i only saw like 2 episodes, but the premise of the family being the Rangers is just so funny to me, instantly got me into the idea lol
I agree with Austin, I enlisted to the marine corps because of power rangers, sentai and kamen rider because I wanted to be a hero like they are and well I think power rangers has played a big part in all of our lives
18:27 - But we would HEAR the Magna Defender, as Mike's actor, Russell Lawrence, ended up providing a lot of voiceover for Leo after Danny Slavin backed out.
Light speed rescue is my favorite season Followed by ninja storm, Dino thunder, spd and turbo My best part of the season is their zord sequence (especially the torso less walking legs one)
And to think back then, there was speculation that he was actually an older Billy from Mighty Morphin (before they revealed his surname being Cranston that ruined that theory for everyone).
I can't speak for others but I can speak for myself when I say I do think Lightspead is underrated it gets overlooked because it came after lost galaxy which is a fan favorite for alot of people and then time force came out after Lightspead so it was like caught between a rock and a hard place essentially, but like Id be liying if I said the titanium ranger is not one of the best rangers to ever exist. Probably the saddest thing about Lightspead is that we can only have so much titanium ranger due to him being an original ranger and not a counterpart.
Had drinks with Sean 'Carter' Johnson and Alison 'Dana' Mcinnes at the Ness Con 2017 After Party here in Scotland. Amazing human beings, humble and loved every fan that spoke with them. Alison kept an eye on us making sure no one got too drunk haha. Better make it a Lightspeed Rescue!
I once made a video where I ranked every Power Rangers Season, & I put Lightspeed Rescue at the bottom of the upper half of them because I do enjoy the Season as a whole, but I wasn't a fan of the villains which held it back from being great.
I think like someone also stated. I think the season was good to decent but was over shadowed by great seasons like in space and lost galaxy. Also some of the characters felt rushed and the demons were cool just not executed well at times
Well in Australia Lightspeed Rescue was the last series shown for at least 6 years, when Channel 7 still broadcasted the series. I never watched it, as it was shown in the mornings not afternoons. It wasn't until Netflix released in Australia, that I finally watched Lightspeed Rescue for the first time and thought it was a great series. When you rewatch this season, you realize that Dana has to be at least 18. When Ryan makes his debut, she celebrates his 20th birthday. Still believing he’s dead at the time. She’s definitely younger than him and they never said that they were twins so she had to be at least 18 to 19 years old. Her suddenly being a doctor within a year might have worked if she was some sort of medical unions. Power Rangers really doesn’t pay attention to timelines that much. Like when the Dino Thunder Rangers get sent to the future, after arriving from their high school reunion, even though they literally just graduated a year ago. Also in the wormhole episode, the SPD Rangers go back in time and ask the Dino Thunder team for help. Sure they explained that they erased their memories from the previous episode, but they arrived a year _before_ they were sent forward in the first place.
I certainly appreciate Lightspeed Rescue even more now. I rewatched it a while back. I used to have a VHS tape of “Curse of the Cobra“ movie (involving Ryan’s return and his tattoo) and I constantly watched it a lot at my late grandparents’ house. The super train megazord is one my personal favorite megazords cause I like trains.
I loved Lightspeed Rescue, it's one of my favorite seasons and in the top 5. This season I watched before MMPR-Lost Galaxy during my original watchthrough so I was so confused during the team up lmao but I then I rewatched it. Dana is definitely one of my favorite pink rangers of all time and Carter is one of my favorite reds, plus their ship is one of my faves in PR. I loved Dana and Ryan's sibling dynamic, this season is by far one of the most underrated in my opinion and I wish it got more love.
This season is definitely on higher end of power rangers seasons. First off, that intro is one of my favorites. The monsters are actually sick, I personally love it when there’s on distinct theme with the villains (I.e. orgs, robots, and of course demons).
The light speed rescue X lost galaxy crossover used to terrify me as a kid and I have very fond memories of it. It could be nostalgia but I NEED to go and watch it again
For me the best light speed rescue moment was when the max solar zord was being combined with the light speed rescue megazord. The theme song transition just made that scene for me.
Bro I would love do you to do a comparison series between the Super Sentai and Power Ranger series, maybe show which show (in your opinion) that did the story better
The titanium ranger suit was pretty cool and so was all their zords and the villains were all pretty ruthless and awesome. But most of those factors were thanks to GoGoFive’s amazing stock footage.
This season was my favorite as a kid (nowadays, it's still in the top five) for a multitude of reasons. I like how different it is from other seasons. These aren't "teenagers with attitudes." they're grown adults working for a government-backed emergency response team. Also the fact that the first All American Power Ranger had the same name as me, basically guaranteed that this show would be my favorite.
The way he's talking about these Lightspeed episodes really impresses me with how many of the GoGoFive episode plots they actually used. Also during the Lightspeed Rescue-Lost Galaxy crossover, the reason the Galaxy Rangers use the Gingaman morph is that this crossover used footage from the Sentai film "Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoFive vs. Gingaman", so...
For me I've really come to like Lightspeed as time went on, it gives me this blue collar, working class hero vibe with all the rangers being adults with careers and they're a public service backed by a government.
Lightspeed is the break power rangers needed, after back to back mega multi season story arcs, it was light hearted (lol), and prepared us for epic disney era rangers
It’s comments like people made back in the 90s that make me just go for the unpopular stuff. In war robots, which is a 6 v. 6 robot battling game, I would always go for robots or weapons that aren’t in the current meta, because they just looked cool. I guess that, just because somethings popular, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good. And just because somethings unpopular, doesn’t mean it’s bad. Like Power Rangers ninja steel an operation overdrive for example. I found those two seasons to be quite a fun ride.
I was too young to experience MMPR like my older siblings did But In Space, lost Galaxy, Lightspeed, and in Space were my favorite seasons I’m glad lightspeed is getting the love it’s getting Tbh LightSpeed Rescue is just Paw Patrol
This is one of your most entertaining videos lol I enjoyed it You should do a video on how Justin turbo ranger got his powers back for his appearance In powers rangers in space
The whole curse of the cobra saga was good. And you were right if magna defender would have been there in the team up it would have been much better but unfortunately like I said in the last season he lost his powers sacrificing for the colony
I think I like the concept more than the execution. The team up with Lost Galaxy was decent, good theme, liked the costumes and the LR organization, it was something new and different. But yeah at least 2/6’s of the team are kinda dull. Even the 6th Ranger loses steam.
Looked up the prices of those jackets and...
*GYAT DAYUM!*

Lightspeed Rescue is a good solid season but the main problem is that it came after two awesome seasons In Space and Lost Galaxy.

I felt the same way 13/14 when it came it out. LSR had "adult rangers" with "jobs" and it was the "police" and "government" ...
You definitely need to watch TIME FORCE...Nuff said😂
The whole curse of the cobra saga was good. And you were right if magna defender would have been there in the team up it would have been much better but unfortunately like I said in the last season he lost his powers sacrificing for the colony
I feel like it has definitely grown on us throughout the years. Not to mention Carter Grayson is a total badass
Name of the theme song please?
I think I like the concept more than the execution. The team up with Lost Galaxy was decent, good theme, liked the costumes and the LR organization, it was something new and different. But yeah at least 2/6’s of the team are kinda dull. Even the 6th Ranger loses steam.
It's one of my favorite seasons can't imagine it being it underrated
I just finished this season as I’m watching every season for the first time. So far it’s my third favorite season just behind Zeo and in Space.
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
Thank you! Will do!
Always love the morp of light speed rescue and its 1st episode
Este your not completely wrong about light speed rescue is definitely underrated
My opinion ? Yes it is indeed a 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5 season. The Titanium Ranger arc specially is top top quality.
cool
IDK who the people were back in the day hating on LSR-I LOVED it when it was live. One of the best series in my opinion
real
Always nice to see Lightspeed get some more love. It deserves it. One of the best finales of any PR season. Very gripping and action packed.
Couldn't agree more
