- There's gonna have to be a bigger gap between parts of this, I can't keep making them so quickly. I have to record a lot of footage for this and I simply haven't got the time. So please be patient, I'm doing all I can.

I tend to pull out an occasional bomb from time to time, when playing as Link, to then Chuck Norris it at people.
Yeah actually, I use links bombs pretty often.
Really Yoshi is a pretty good character, he just takes some getting used to since he doesn't have a real recovery aside from that jump. His air game is insanely good and egg lay is my favorite troll move, just waiting for someone to come and then lay em' off the cliff feels so good!
yo-yo_guy amsa
does anyone realized that the pink characters have the best recovery?
You mean pink MK and pink Wario right?
PKBeam64
pink original
Then I don't see what you mean.
PKBeam64
you know, Kirby, Jigglypuff, Peach. all dos peeps
Peach and Kirby's recoveries are average. Not particularly good. Jigglypuff's is very good but probably not one of the best.
You said Gyros were useless.
Reported.
What a squeaker.
Dat ending song, ai no uta, I used to listen to it so many times when I played Brawl =)
i use links bombs alot though :O
I said and I quote, 'AWW, HE'S SO CUTE. I WANT ONE, DADDY I WANT ONE!'
I think that's almost the opposite of hating on Yoshi compadre.
Aw yeah Samus is my girl lol. Favorite Smash character ever (Yes I'm a Metroid fanboy). lol
I really like your top tens and stuff, some people have a spot on thier list described with two sentences, or sometimes don't even explain at all, and rather show a slideshow of pictures. you go really in depth, and I salute you for it.
But... I use R.O.B.'s Gyro...
I'm British XD
PLOT TWIST! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
agreed, as Not-newbs know ROB's gyro not only works kinda like with Samus's charge shot, to hit FUKING HARD!! , more to the point is its use as an on-demand projectile/throwing item. Fire it off, pick it up, then spam the the hell out of it! ^_^
(what a noob for not saying/knowing this....)
ZGuy0fSci R.O.B.'s one of my mains in Brawl and Smash 4, so I know how useful the gyro is.
yeah, was so fun in Brawl... too bad feels like last i played in Smash4 him and Olimar got nudered in that regards. (Pikmin airs & ROB's gyro)
6:00 To answer your question, yes, I do use Link's Bomb move. Quite regularly actually. You just want to use it at a distance, and it requires a decent knowledge of the game's physics to connect your attack to your opponent. The best strategy to Link is to mix up your attacks to confuse your opponents, and to use the best attack for the scenario. For example, when surrounded, use the Spin Attack to fling enemies away, or when two other players are fighting and ignoring you, to shoot arrows at them.
I use Link a lot and I use the bombs when I can. They can be very helpful in either damage a distraction.
I'm sure you can (I'm terrible at Smash 64) but this all about personal preference. The best bit about Super Smash Bros is that if you're good enough, you can beat anyone with any character. I just prefer to use some characters over others, hence how this list is formed.
what's the song that you played at the very end.. with a girl singing in what i think is japanese? it sound's very beautiful.
Nothing is more fun than having characters chase Link or Young Link around a stage trying to dodge bombs, arrows and boomerangs. It racks up the damage for that final smash attack.
One thing i've learned about link is that most of his combos thrive on you connecting with a special move first, then following up with normal attacks. So I always have a bomb in my hand. Especially after I throw my arrow, because it takes so long to come back.
1:50 I love how everyone is in one big clusterfaff and Wario's last act before death is trying to deal a little more damage to Yoshi, but then dies with two others regardless. The kicker being that in that last act of frustration, he saves Yoshi from sharing the same fate.
Bombs are actually super useful, and give Link MUCH more utility if you can learn to use them. They don't hurt much, but they knock people down and set them on fire, they knock into other items, they botch people's jumps, and it often sets up an arrow shot. You don't even have to really try to connect with them, they just help keep opponents occupied. It really helps make up for Link's moments of vulnerability.
I agree completely with what you said about Mario.
He's like that because he is the most recognizable character so new players are more likely to use him.
Link does have a unique characteristic: when motionless, he holds his shield in front of him. The shield blocks nearly every projectile in the game
link's bombs in MLG are used constantly to apply pressure and combo
As a Link main since SSB I can tell you that Links' Bobms can be awesome gimping/edge guarding tools along with his bomb jump and up throw or down throw up-tilt into a bomb are great things. Also they can set up combos in the air where Link combos best. Link + good spacing + bombs = good strategy
two things to say here: I will admit it, I'm a c-stick spammer in melee and brawl, but the usefulness of link's bombs...it's like a smash attack that you can THROW. Pick a direction, flick the c-stick and watch your enemies explode, then pull out another one. Sadly, if you get caught with one of those in you hand, and someone decides to rearrange you face, YOU will explode. Also, Zero Suit Samus in SSBB's B-to-the-side attack is freaking ridiculous! i'll spam that all day
Honestly, I'd like to call Mario's finale the "Fire Shove", because if you're caught up in it, then is literally takes you with it to the side of the screen, doing damage all the way. Very effective on a moving stage.
"She has tea, every argument is invalid"
Best line ever.
I use bombs as Link all the time. They don't do much damage, but they stop opponents and give you a small opening that you cab really abuse sometimes
"Please don't hurt me"
(Kills you)
yes i have used the bomb on a regular basis because you can throw it at enemies below you and its generally just a fun thing to use
bombs are one of link's best attacks. that and the boomerang can create so many openings for link to actually do damage or kill his opponents
I find it funny that he doesn't think both Link's and R.O.B.'s down special projectiles are useless even though those are some of the best stage control items in the game.
As a link main (well, he's my like, fith fave) I second this.
Also, about Mario, while I give the developers credit for trying to integrate FLUDD into Mario's gameplay, putting it in place of his tornado spin was a bad idea in my mind, especially since it does zero damage and takes precious seconds to charge.
THE GYRO IS AWESOME. YOU CAN LOAD IT UP BIG AND KEEP GRABBING IT AND THROWING IT AT PEOPLE. Seriously the gyro is why I mained ROB for awhile...
You can actually use the eggs that yoshi throes to float in the air for a few seconds. So it more or less makes up for not having a third jump.
and for your information, RabidLuigi, the gyro mentioned at about 10:00 (or earlier?) it's the sort of thing in which you get out of the way while another two or three are duking it out somewhere else, you would charge it up from a distance and fire it at one of them pretty much guaranteeing a K.O. (or 50% dmg or so)
In regards to your comment about Link's bombs, they're part of my final attack - knock a high-damage into the air with a bomb, then spike them off the edge with the down-air attack. Rather difficult to pull off, yes, but potent if pulled off right. Granted, I use Toon Link compared to Link, but that's a matter of preference.
My main is Zelda, but your explanation was justified. She is a hard character to use for most.
Same here
For me, Link has that move where I think "Yeah, I can really dominate with that." It's his downward thrust (don't know if that's in Brawl and the original, but it's in Melee).
Link is both a long distance and a short distance character, every attack is beneficial to me while everyone is trying to get the smash ball I mess with them and use bombs, arrows, and the boomerang to quickly steal it at the last second and triforce slash is the best, although this is your list so I really shouldn't argue.
I actually use Link's bombs the most. They are part of the trio of projectiles Link has that allows him to deal damage more safely than almost any other character.
Also, I find the gyro quite useful. You don't realize it's for racking up damage rather than a big smash attack or something.
Link is my main in Melee (and toon link is one of my best in brawl). What I like about him is that he's got an almost even split between projectiles and sword attacks, so you've got plenty of combo ops. Aerially, he's an okay character; between his spin attack and his up and down stabs, he can rack up damage and keep people away fairly well.
Nice list so far. Wow, almost all of my best characters except for one are all in this part together. That's awesome. My best characters are Peach, Samus, Yoshi, Mario, and Lucario. Now I'll keep watching to see where Lucario lands on the list. Also, Peach has a ring on her finger.
ROB is my best and im happy he got this far up on the list cuz most people dont understand that if your good at brawl hes pretty good :D im glad you took this into consideration
link is one of my best characters. if you use the boomerang you can get the enemy from a distance or grab and smash when the roll towards you
i use links bombs as a spike but it is kindof ard when it takes forever to take it out of your pocket
not to discuss, in super smash bros (the one for the 64) i was able to maintain long combos with link, and always ended up sending them out of stage, i used the boomerang to pulle them back or if they dodged it i threw a bomb at the boomerang, which made it explode in mid air, i found him to be my favourite character
I totally use the Gyro XD It's so much fun and is actually quite effective.
True, I don't use Link's bombs much either, but I main him. His sword attacks are really powerful especially his up and side smashes in 4.
His edge guard is tremendous in 4 from the jump attack they gave him, too. Honestly, Link got better treatment after Melee.
I use them as well. like for distracting so i can get away and maybe charge up a bow shot or something like that.
The best things about Mario are the glitches in the original Smash Bros. (he can cause instant K.O. in Training mode and he has a glitch where he gets off the platform, becoming untouchable. If anyone comes too close, Mario can swoop in and get them. Look them up.) Those probably don't count since they are glitches, though.
Whenever I play link I base my attacking strategy off keeping my distance and throwing around some bombs
Lol. Zero suit samus is the, "skin tight, jumpy, shooty lady" XD
I just noticed during the Peach segment that you can use Peach's final smash usefully by simply pushing the character off the stage. So to mess with someone wait for them to revive then use the final smash ergo free kill and they have no use for the peaches anymore. It's actually very useful..... go figure.
i like the transition between characters
About the bombs with link in the demo for the new super smash bros the bombs is almost a must to use in combat because lots of people fight in a same area so just chuck a bomb at them and they are done like dinner
Cant agree with you on the mario one, I find the fact that mario is so easy to play but when put in the time in effort he becomes way better as you learn how to add in more combos and keep a chain going, AND HOLY SHIT MARIOS AIR SPIKE IS SO FUCKING SATISFYING TO LAND UERGHRGHR (Also that cape is fucking op)
I agree with the thing you said about Mario, but there is one thing why I'd put him higher myself: The cape.
Why? It flips almost ANYTHING (and puts up the damage little bit i think)! And for a multiplayer, it is so. Much. FUN! Once you master it, you'll have a tool to annoy your friends and have a big laugh. And when you have 3 friend who master it and everyone chooses it...
Oh boy the joy.
I think it's a reference to ROB. Because ROB was originally a nintendo accessory which in a way was responsible to ending the video game crash in the early 80s, it paved the way for Nintendo to do business in North America. So Nintendo has a tendency to put ROB in some games, Starfox 64 is one of them and Pikmin is another (I think).
What? Every time I'm Link in SSBB, I think: "Now's the time to use the bomb!"
Sometimes I even just charge towards the other players WITH THE BOMB still in my hand. So fun to see...
The problem with Mario's final smash is that it's too slow, and therefore it times out before it has reached the boundaries, so most players it is used on survive the hit as it doesn't actually launch them.
Apparently we play very differently. Every time you claimed nobody used a move, it was one of my favorites.
You know what would've been a cool Final smash for lucario? Pain split, to act with the whole aura thing. All the damage lucario has is healed and is dealt to all his enemies.
Example:
Lucario has 75% damage, and is fighting Bowser, Olimar, and PIkachu.
Lucario activates pain split.
Lucario is completely healed, and 75% damage is dealt to Bowser, Olimar, and Pikachu.
See, it works, because Lucario's playstyle and ability pretty much begs for you to get hit a lot.
I Can't believe Olimar & Pikmin Made it past part 2, Thats Awesome!
I agree, but don't forget to buff his hookshot and give him better grabs and throws. Why does it sink to the ground if it misses? It didn't do that in Ocarina of Time or the first Smash Bros game.
I also think Donkey Kong and Mario need bumps too. DK needs a projectile weapon (his coconut gun, banana peels, or barrels would work) and a better vertical recovery, as well as faster attacks. Mario needs the Mario Tornado back to replace F.L.U.D.D., it greatly hurts his recovery too.
the bombs are his best projectile actually. they´re really good for playing mindgames and setting up combos
yoshis my favorite a little top for you when playing as him is to save your seccond just so you can activate it to save you from falling to your death, hes not exactly a super efffective character but hes my fave :)
I usually play peach as a support character in team matches with friends. I'll put people to sleep and have my teammate kill the person they're fighting and then afterwards eat the peaches for him/herself. Situational, but effective.
This guy is amazing, makes amazing videos, and has a nice voice. So why does he have only 200000 subs?
5:53 Yes yes I always do. Makes for great space openers and counters (if you're at a distance that is).
Loved the Ai No Uta touch at the end of yo video...and Yoshi is adorable
Link is my favorite player. I also liked playing as Zero Suit Samus a lot better than regular Samus
How to absolutely OWN Practice CPUs with Samus: Charge up the cannon, hold it, then set the CPU to Chase, and when it's really close, let go. The CPU will be blasted off the screen in no time.
For R.O.B. I usually fire the Gyro to protect the ledge form my opponents. I also use bombs with Link when I'm in range, and damage is top priority.
I did try that, and its not a very smart idea. If you just wait and shoot an arrow or the boomerang, you will fall quite a good distance below the stage before you can do anything, so you're wasting your time doing that. Link has very high falling speed, so you can easily miss your chance to recover upon using your projectiles at your opponent.
A better option is to slash your bomb with a Spin Attack to gain another Spin. You can also Wall Grapple with your Hookshot, so you be creative too.
Link was at his deadliest in the original game. This was weakened in later games it seems, but the Hookshot was REEEEEAAALLY great for grabbing someone and then launching them off the edge.
the one redeeming quality of the egg throw is that you can throw it over walls
Peach is my second favourite after Jiggly because I like the variety of all her attack; the ass-attack, the onions, the A slap.. gotta love her! Young Link is my favourite amongst the Link characters. And wow! You must really like the Star Fox characters! Excited for the rest! :)
Aww, I was hoping Link would be higher actually... I LOVE using Link, even though his recovery move isn't the best
Actually I use bombs with link all the time, he's my favorite (well actually toon link). I found it really useful when out of range to bombard your opponents with arrows, boomerang, and bombs. This also a reason i can actually stun level 9 cpus to go in for a final kill. A good combo with bombs would be throwing one directly in the air above you, using your hookshot on someone next to you and throwing them in the air after it. If you don't get the hookshot use the shield and roll away.
Doesn't mean that he can't very dull in Smash Bros though.
In "Triforce Gathering" I spam Up-B while on the ground because it sends Ganondorf flying.
The Super Smash Bros series was the result of an argument between game creators about whose character was better
Whats the song at 12:01? Thanks in advance
Até mais ver
mr. Poneis
Ps: Ok... Ai no Uta from the very game soundtrack... shoulve check the comments before asking...
Personally, i think Zero Suit Samus is quite good and her grabs and whip attacks are great
"So please be patience," Rab, I will be the patience, for you.
wow i definitely have to agree with you about Mario you'd think the mascot at least be a littel more flashy and better suited for a Nintendo exclusive game
I used to, let's say, troll my brothers with mewtwo by using teleport to play "catch me if you can" before thrashing them, I was rather unimpressed by the removal from brawl and in the new versions of the game, mewtwo has once again become one of my favourites.
The point of Peach's final smash is to heal yourself, not to KO everyone. It's about survival, not killing all that stand before you.
well you might think link's bombs don't get a lot of use. Then you see pro players using bombs to make recoveries like snake and his grenades. Since he's a heavy weight like snake, the damage doesn't kill him unless he's over 180% range. Plus using them to set combos and break enemies air combos by either throwing or timing the hold of his bombs to blow up in thier faces works well. I don't main him, but I've fought enough against a few great link players to see it done well
The most fun with Peach is to use her Smash attack.
"WHA... WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FRYING PAN?!"
"Uhh... my Kitchen?"
To be honest, The gyro on ROB is my favorite move to DESTROY people with.
I hate when playing as Ganondorf when you have the perfect opportunity to k.o an opponent and he randomly sticks his leg in the air and charges up some weird attack which gives the opponent the perfect chance to escape
honestly i love to use bombs as the floaty toon link, but that's because it makes my friends rage
it is not so much the series it is more his iconic status and the fact that he can be used for any game except violent and scary ones
I use gyros and bombs, my entire game strategy for my mains in all the Smash Bros. games all revolve around range attacks.
I like how you rate these characters on personal preference also and not just strengths/weaknesses AND Tier standings.
I got tired of seeing Tier lists.... LOL Personally in my opinion skill is usually the key item that decides a match and not the character. But that's just me. Interesting list by the way, never expected Ganondorf and several other characters to be lower on the list. But I can understand why you put them there.
What you said about link and heavy characters
It takes skill to use heavier characters because they're slower
in any case by making them do more damage evens it
the third jump IS a jump..it can help get you back on stage, even if it does suck for that..
actually, i use link's bombs all the time, they are very useful for arial attacks, and if you plan ahead, can get you back from recoveries that would normally seem impossible.
That's pretty much a summarized version of what I said, though you're wrong in a respect. Video games were still doing really well in Japan, the video game crash of 1983 was only in North America.
So in order for Nintendo to even sell in that region, they first had to sort of re-label the NES as a "Robot Gaming System", which fooled enough people in the region to adopt video games again.
