  • Here In this video, I will show some of the benefits of the Avocado seed, and how to process, the pit for consumption. Avocado seeds are nutrient-rich. The avocado seed also contains 70% of the avocado’s antioxidant content, also considered one of the best sources of soluble fiber. The avocado’s creamy flesh. It’s chock-full of good fat, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber also. Keep and maintain a flat tummy.

    Whip up a face mask. Dry the pits, grind them up and use them as a homemade face mask.

      Flat Tummy according to your comment section your telling them to eat poison and the SKIN of organic avocados is healthier than the seed.
      Also citrus peel is toxic if not organic, and seeds toxic. Too much oil if eat more than one, by experience.

    Why are some people so critical? This video is about the avocado seeds not about the way he is cutting the seed or the wrong type of cutting board he is using. Some people are just so negative and find it in everything. Thanks to the gentleman for making this video.

      I boil them when I'm boiling eggs. The only odd thing is that the egg shells turn pinkish, but that is sort of useful since it's easy to tell which eggs are boiled and which are raw.
      They're easy to slice, then add to salads, etc.

  • @theGreaterAwareness
    @theGreaterAwareness 5 ปีที่แล้ว +509

    Although the seeds are good, in 2019, they discovered that the brown husk / shell / skin around the seed has more antioxidants than the entire flesh of the seed. This is because the flesh of the seed is the child of the tree and the skin around that seed is to protect the seed - which is why it is filled with antibodies. @ 0:43 You brush the skin aside without mentioning how potent it is compared to the seeds you are processing. Keep the skin of those seeds because you can make it into a powder and drink it as a tea. Make sure you research for interactions and dosage if you are to consume the skin of the seed or even consume the seeds as a medicine. All things with a purpose and in moderation. Eg: A spoonful of some garden herbs might lower your blood pressure so much that you are unwell. So research for known dosage amounts and always start small and increase the dose gradually - this is because plants can have different levels of medicinal values due to soil, pH, hours of sun, water, and even Mycorrhiza can increase medicinal value due to enhanced feeding capability of the roots. So not all avocado seeds are the same. Some will be higher in X than others and some will be higher in Y than others. And no matter what supplement you consume - include black pepper as it increases the absorption rate of cells, that is why it is good to mix black pepper with things like Turmeric as you will get much more anti-inflammatory benefits than without the black pepper.

    Thank you for informing us about the antioxidant benefit. I don’t have an oven but I think I’ll try keeping them overnight in the yogurt setting on my instant pot. That should dry them out.
    I’m going to try this but not because of the collagen. Collagen is digested and breaks down into amino acids and minerals. They are absorbed and assimilated like any other amino acids and minerals and not as collagen.

The local farmer is your best bet. You know it's fresh, it didn't have to travel across country to get to you and you put money in a local farmer's bank acct. It's something I'm trying to do myself. Grocery stores are more convenient, local farmers' produce taste better & are healthier. Good luck!

    It doesn't have a bad taste but it does rapidly dry the tongue out. I think that's because of the antioxidants that cause that. I don't have a food processor so I threw them in the blender for about 20 minutes set on liquidy. That seems to work. I mixed some in my green smoothy and its dryness is barely noticable.

    • @ancientstarqueen
      @ancientstarqueen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      Holly Paladino Doesn’t take long at all. All you have to do is place the seed “belly button” side down in a small dish or bowl of water. You’ll know what I mean by belly button when you see it. It grows it’s root in water. No need for propping it up with toothpicks. I find that frustrating and a waste of time. Keep it partially submerged in water, half way up the seed and you’ll be fine. I even grow ginger this way. Mango seeds are a bit different.

    The reason it’s red is because the increased surface area + exposure to air has oxidized it. You may want to try blending it in a smoothie directly so it doesn’t come in contact with as much air and therefore doesn’t oxidize as much but retains the increased surface area so it can do the maximum amount of work in your body 😃

  • @roprohealth7730
    @roprohealth7730 5 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    Excuse me if I'm wrong, but the reason the color is changing to the darker orange, is because the seed material has become oxidized through the processing. That means the antioxidants have already been used up. I'm sure you would still get the benefits of the fiber, but I don't think you are getting much antioxidant benefit from this powder.

    • @thesmallestdaltonbrother2176
      @thesmallestdaltonbrother2176 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      he said that from a biologists standpoint, and not from a nutrition standpoint.
      the seeds are almost always not the best part of a fruit, because the flesh is not there to carry and protect the seed, but to give enough nutrients to the seed when it falls off a tree, or to make it attractive to animals that eat the fruit and therefore carry the seed to new locations
      the seeds on the other hand often contain poison, so that they cant be eaten, so that its easier for trees to reproduce.
      what your biologist meant was badly phrased, but in reality he was saying that to give children a new perspective on the topic, bc children often see only the flesh but not the seeds. meaning that what he meant was: the tree grows out of the seed, and not out of the fruit
