A great lesson as always - I’ve been following you guys since COVID, and I’m grateful for all your help! I in fact was looking for lessons that talked about relaxing my grip on the racquet, and you covered exactly that! As a tall player (6’5), I struggle with my spacing - I find that I’m either too far or too near to the ball - both in terms of body position and contact point - especially for my 2handed backhand. This makes me very unconfident on that shot. Therefore, if you have any tips on spacing, I would be grateful for your help!
For some reason whenever im on court, especially in matches, seems like most small technicalities just fade away. My shots lose power and depth, which in turns makes me start to panic and it spirals downhill from there. Any tips for how to stay calm and relaxed during points?
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficialIn one of your service videos you talk about how the snap of the wrist is dangerous; so I assume that even if someone can control the forehand shots somehow with a completely loose wrist (a snap) then you don't encourage it, yes? In other words, based on your other video, you wouldn't encourage a snap of wrist in any type of shot in tennis.?
Wrist will be cocked back at contact if you’re using an eastern or semi western, if using a western or more extreme grip, the wrist is already heading back to neutral by the time you make contact. After contact, the wrist will move into a neutral position with any grip
Alex is still part of the channel. I don’t live in the UK anymore which is why most videos are me solo, but we do film together when doing a camp or clinic
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Where are you living these days Simon. Looks like you have a nice court all for yourself. Curious to know. Also have you thought about taking fans questions and doing QnA video, it will be a nice change of pace. I for sure will watch it.

A lot of spacing issues stems from poor ball tracking and footwork. A lesson is definitely needed on the topic
Marvellous
Thank you 🙏

Excellent! How loose do I want my wrist to be? I am trying not to muscle the ball and be so rigid, but when I relax my wrist, my consistency suffers.
As loose as possible without losing control of your shots

Is the wrist meant to stay in an extended position up until after contact e.g don’t flex the wrist half way during the forward swing

what happened with the other guy? The one with the one handed backhand. Is he gone from the channel?
