The music really helped. It's not difficult to play it's just harder to know where you are towards the end of the song but the music definitely helped. Thank you and great playing.
@@paveantelic7876 yeah, the change up on th 77574475 is pretty tough for us beginners. i am getting it down pretty good now just gotta do it a little faster.
How is he doing that with the Numbers=Tabs? I dont get the the 5-7 it looks like his Guitar would have just 3 or 4 Tabs so how is there more of Numbers= Tabs to play for? Sorry im really new to this of learning by tabs.
@@konataizumi42 The highest string on the bass (the "low" E) is the at the bottom of the tabs. To bottom string on the bass (the "high" G) is at the top of the tabs. The numbers are the frets he plays on
Easy technically but lots of changes to remember where to drop the bass lines in with the guitar chord changes. Great when you get it right. This is one where you need to split it into sections and learn each one individually rather than rush to play the whole song all the way through. Following the moving tab helps loads but you can't do this to play live so head down and learn it!
Rocking those Running 8s!!! Nice job. I've got to learn to play this one (easy-ish) and sing lead (not so easy), and then for the second half after the bridge switch to keys bass with some chords on top for the backing pad sounds.
In a 4 hour gig a bassist will play for about 190 minutes; at 140 beats per minute times two for running 8s that would be approximately 53,000 notes!!!!! Thank goodness they're not all like this one!!! But actually playing 15,000 in a night isn't really unusual. Just so you're thinking about it! Oh, and the drummer hits many more things, but uses four limbs independently.
Hi. My brother, Phil Feit is the bassist who played on White Wedding. He plays this song with a heavy pick not fingers. And the opening riff is played B on E string at the 7th fret- D on E string at the 10th fret- F# on A string at the 9th fret- E on A string the 7th fret to D on E string at the 10th fret back to B and repeat until open E to D on A string at the 5th fret. 😃
I looked at a video and it sure looks like the bassist played B on the E string and the next 3 notes on the A string with a shift. Is this Phil? th-cam.com/video/3jgtWzy-dPE/w-d-xo.html. I find the 7/10/7/9/7 move rather awkward, but I'm a total beginner. You can see the pinky reach for the shift at 2:07
@@robertmarr5664 That’s Steve Webster in the IDOL’s Rebel Yell Tour who replaced Phil in the middle of recording Rebel Yell. The way I wrote the pattern previously is the way how Phil played it. The intro is all between the 7th and 10th frets on the E & A strings. The pinky stretch on the E string at 10th fret is correct. Cheers!

Very good line to learn for beginners, I did at least. Just slow down the tempo in guitar pro, this video or whatever and increase tempo until you get it. There are no shortcuts if you aren't god's talent, sorry to say.

Very good performance Harry, very helpfully stuff for beginers like me. can you add "Fascination Street" from The Cure in your Videos?
fascination street would be amazing, as well as Burn the witch from Radiohead
Excellent! Thank you for producing this video. I was able to learn the song from this.
Excelente trabajo amigo.
Está difícil para mi nivel, pero como me gusta mucho esa línea de bajo, la hago.
Gracias bro.

@@GlennKidd Wow, nice to see this kind of expertise. I'm into rock history and a bass player, but I never bothered to learn music theory.
Is the basslines really SO simple? When I cover this track in my band, I play a walking bass over the whole song! Wonder where I've picked THAT up? :p
Walking lines can be more complicated, but don't always fit the song
Thanks man!
