  • In for repair is an XBOX Elite Series 2 Controller not charging and no power.
    this is a common issue caused by liquid damage.
    I've come across this several times and it's always due to liquid damage. I just wanted to show the no power repair part.
    This controller came in for a whole host of issues to be fixed ontop of not turning on:
    1: No power
    2: Stick drift
    3: LB/RB

    I’m pretty mechanically inclined and I took my elite series 2 controller apart because it wasn’t charging and my pc wasn’t picking it up found out the back 2 prongs on the port broke how do I fixit

  • @Bagelss

    So would this likely be the same reason why a controller would only turn on when plugged in? Doesn’t charge. I cleaned up a bunch of corrosion on the top right side of the board with 99% alcohol. Went from not turning on at all to only when plugged in. It does also power on if connected to the charging puck.

    I have a similar problem!
    Turns on when on dock and usb c!
    Can unplug or remove from dock or cable and it works fine!
    However it won't switch on from battery alone!
    Narrowed it down to the analogue board from swapping parts from another!
    WHAT AM I MISSING???

    Hello, can you please help me, I have an elite series 2 controller, the controller does not turn on the console, but if the charging cable is connected, it turns on, I disconnect the charge and play, and all the buttons work, even the on and off button. But after I turn off the controller, it won't turn on without the charging cable. It must be connected to the charging cable to turn it on. After turning on, the cable is no longer needed.

    Thanks so much! Helped me get my power back on.
    I have an issue where my left stick seems to have a forward drift, i replaced the pentiometer which did work for about a day and the drift came back so i then replace the entire analog stick and both potentiometers. Again it was fine for a day and then the drift returned. Any idea what could cause this even after a replacement?

    • @UberMicroRepairs

      That is an odd issue. the ost will require calibration even with brand new ones. That's the only thing I can think of.

      @UberMicroRepairs just got home from work and tried some things. Did a power cycle while one the dock, this allowed me to remove it and still have power. Could turn off and back on by controller alone. After this I tried connecting USB and it shut it down. May just leave it alone since all buttons and thumbsticks work.

    Hi, hoping u can help. I have an elite Series 2 controller, that doesn't charge. The controller started with drift on the analogue stick, Unfortunately when removing the stick, I moved and lost some of the components. So I ordered a new green board from AliExpress and everything works fine, connects to the Xbox, PC and all the buttons work but the controller no longer charges and the white led doesn't come on. The new board is the same model but has a different version number, could this be the cause? Any idea where to test for correct voltages. Thanks in advance. 👍

    After replacing port on a Series 2 Elite, I am having a Windows error when trying to connect via USB-C. I have tried on multiple desktops and laptops. Device Manager shows "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" Any ideas? The controller works flawlessly on an Xbox Series X.

    • @UberMicroRepairs
      @UberMicroRepairs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These ports are very dificult to solder on correctly due to them all being completly hidden. The port has to be totally flat, the pins and pads need to be tinned. Once up to temp the port needs to be held inplace untill the solder solidifies. All while trying not to over heat the port and melt the plastic comb.

    • @tyevalyo204
      @tyevalyo204 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UberMicroRepairs Thank you for the reply. I did pre-tin both sets of pins prior to attempting to tack down. It seemed that it was completely flat and I did apply pressure while tacking the port. No visible damage to comb under the scope. Maybe the port I ordered is at fault. I'll have to try again. Thanks again!

      A real pain in the ass with this usb c ports , also i had 2 ps5 controllers with broken usb c ports , change them but not working , i believe when the ports break the pins touch and shorts something on the board , did you experience this problem with ps5 controllers ?

    • @UberMicroRepairs
      @UberMicroRepairs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paulpaul4434 The XBOX USB-C ports are a real pain. The plastic inside melts VERY easily. Heating from the bottom will destroy the LED. I heat the PCB just behind the port. Takes longer but is safer. Keep an eye on the plstic soon as you see it start to go shiney move the heat away. The PS5 USB's yeah.... Once they go there is a 50/50 chance the Dialog IC is shorted. Those IC's are about £15 each if you can find em!
