Collage art with painted papers and gel prints

I used card as the base for these collages (from product packaging).
I used gel prints, painted papers as the collage papers.
I used acrylic paint, pan pastel (a colouring pencil would have been better), gel medium (to glue).
I created shapes with the papers. I created shadows, a colour palette, positioning and a finished piece with the acrylic paint.

Oh my gosh, Kirsten You really are ambitious ! I liked to watch your process and the numerous changes and turns in color and relationship between the shapes. The black framing brought all parts together and gave strong support. I really was fascinated.

Thanks queen Britta!!!!! I will keep trying, it’s disappointing but at the same time I know it’s a long shot given I’m not formally trained. I really like these cartoon type shapes and colours but I want to try make them look less cartoony but still just about the same 🤪

Hello Kirsten, interesting as always. You are showing true passion for art in each video!. I am curious: did you get an answer from the Royal Scottish Academy on your application yet?
Hi Mara, yes, they turned me down…but there’s always next year!! I knew it was a slim chance but was still a bit disappointed.
I feel like I’m in a bit of a limbo zone right now trying new things, but it’s the only way I’ll improve.
@@quirkyqueens Never ever give up, Kirsten! You have got the talent and I'm sure you will succeed sooner or later. Keep your fresh mind, have fun, try out new things, except failures and move on.
