- My buddy and I got away for a bit and hit up a lake for a few days. It was tough because a front had come through and dropped the water temps 15 degrees. Our last day there a buddy told us about a local tournament they throw in Sunday mornings at the boat ramp so we decided to jump in. Been a long time since I had gotten in one and I remembered why I loved tournament bass fishing.

So many bass and so many ducks. I think I left the day before this was filmed. I'm from Virginia and I was there for ducks, but we definitely got into a few bass from the duck boat. It was an interesting perspective watching how many guys will fish through the EXACT same stretch one after another all morning long, obviously with no knowledge of the fact that someone just got done fishing it before they pulled up.

Thanks for fishing our little tournament Todd. It was awesome meeting you. And your take on our take off cracked me up! We were actually the 2nd or 3rd boat on plane that day. We usually just pull out into the middle and yell 'Alright Lunker Hunters, 2 o clock, 5 fish, good luck, have fun' or some close variation on that. If I wasn't running it for free, I'd probably do a little more than yell from the front deck then hop in my driver's seat, but we just run it to give guys a place to fish without the club politics or big tournament BS.
Way to go Todd, looked like you guys were having a good time, aint that what it all about!

Awesome man! I used to fish lunker hunters when I lived in San Antonio. We had some good tournaments.
Those duck hunters were probably tagged out on whatever species of duck flew in or they are a protected species.
I don't think so I think they just weren't very good
Nice. I still love fishing these types of tourneys. Pay 1 or 2 spots and big fish. We have the working man trail on Tuesday and Thursday. Fish from 5 till dark. Always fun.
I wish we had some around where I live but the ones I know about are an hour away.
Wow. Beautiful lake. Do any good to ask? I would take a vacation trip to fish there. Ain't nothing like that in NW Arkansas.

I've fished Choke a handful of times but have never run up to the northwest area of the lake. Looks like you guys had a great time!
Man ,looked like a blast. This makes me wish I can be out there wetting a line. Going to try some local tourneys for the first time this year. Just have to thaw out first lol. Around the end of march usually can get back on the water. Start getting the itch bad around this time of year.Wish we had some standing timber like the vid. Never fished anything like that . Thanks for the content to at least watch some good fun fishing.
Standing timber was ok but it’s really the grass we we’re targeting

I might not be able to fish a high stakes derby at this point. I do love the once a week Wednesday nighters after daylight savings changes (what a bad thing that is anyway). I just factor in my once a week donation into my weekly allowance. Lol

I don’t think so since we didn’t know the area we would get to close to the grass I think we would have moved back if we fished it again

A lot of duck hunters wont shoot ducks while they are sitting on the water, they wait til they start flying, sounds fare to me.

Just curious, are the others annoyed a pro showed up, or is the reaction "Holy sh*t I get to compete against a pro!" I think it would be cool but there are those complainers out there. Like golfing with Tiger Woods or swinging at a pitch from Nolan Ryan, how often does that happen (never)?
We actually thought it was cool AF. We've tried to get Mark Davis or Zona to come when they were in town but they usually roll out early on Sundays, at least that's what we hear. I've always said it's an open ramp tournament for anyone who has a boat and $50. If KVD wants to throw in his money, Let's do it!

Atlest you show the real deal realty of fishing a video where all you do is catch fish one after another all day and there’s never any small fish or drum catfish catches them you know it’s not actually going down like that sometimes I wonder how long they where the same clothes day after day just to put a video together of 20-30 mins of fish after fish so keep it real do doing a great job brother
