    MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey...it should be an honest and fun ride!

The juice at the very end, if Todd says the one knocker style baits are the way to go then that’s what I’m throwing, great all around video and I was pondering this the other day, u read my mind

The jig analogy is great. Plopper = heavy mop jig, walking bait = regular jig, finesse jig = popper.

I appreciate that you give details on the type of line that you use in the different applications of the baits you throw. I hope you add that tip in future videos

Great video exactly what me and partner do I’ll stand up front throwing a plopper and he will stay in the back with a spook and see which one they want it usually doesn’t take long to figure it out lol

Been waiting for a video like this. Thank you Todd. Appreciate everything you do for the sport. I still hate livescope lol. Nothing is more satisfying than beating guys that use it and need it. Gives me more drive and purpose when I see there faces. Lol. That Tablerock challenge is still on the table too btw.

Great Topic, I really need to give Top Water more time. Who can deny its not awesome. Pretty much all your filmed tournies you seem to use it. I guess i chalked that up to you fishing for 5 where i prolly fish less than you and im trying to maximise my time for just not getting skunked....my personal goal is never get skunked in my boat and its been many years a streak thats at least important to me. Thats it its settled its time for another advice session from an Angler I trust. Thanks im doing it.

I've caught more big fish by throwing a 120 Choppo all day long.
Just depends on the day as to what they want. Sometimes it's a buzzbait all day, sometimes it's a choppo, sometimes it's a spook.
But when you figure it out, throw it all day.

3:20 I almost 100% of the time agree w you u, except for this statement, a walking bait gets the more aggressive bite, a plopper drives a unagressive fish to bite, sometimes it’s not even a bite as it is a sway or reaction.. a walking bait makes a fish follow and sometimes hit consecutive times until he gets it, a whopper plopper usually if it’s moving fast and they miss, they don’t hit again. Mostly. A lot of times they will, it depend where on the retrieve and how you were working it. The walking bait definitely draws the agressive fish up, I’ve seen too much underwater footage, along with actual experience fishing agressive river smallmouth in upstate NY everyday that are average 3-7 out here, average.. a whopper plopper drives them to agression as the walking bait picks up the aggressor

If you listen back I changed what I said and thats its not an aggressive bite but more of an aggressive fish.

Videos are very informative and detailed Todd. But since you've moved into the"shop", the sound quality is less than adequate. Go Team SK!

Come on Spinning Rod Todd, you never throw those baits anyway. We know you only throw neds and drop shots.
