Hon. Kuria is lying. Motor Vehicle Tax is not based on use (literally speaking). It is a wealth tax - The government is basically saying, "I am taxing you because you own a car".

The impact of the reliefs and allowances is being outweighed by the new introductions. Example an employer has to shoulder 1.5% housing levy, 2.75% SHIF, Increased NSSF, considering the employer does a 5% pension contribution for the employee, that as an allowance has been outweighed. In essence the employee costs have gone up.

The closing remarks by the MP lack are too insincere and overly simplistic.

The so called "positives" in this proposed bill are very much outweighed or matched exactly by definite negatives.

This MP fellow is very educated but his rationale is like that of a primary school drop out. Keep your car at home he says, after you have bought it for your enjoyment and paid the necessary taxes, and the road levy that we pay when we fuel. And he is happy with this new 2.5 percent yearly tax? I know he is one of president Ruto's lapdog but he pretends to forget he is not president Ruto's employee. If i want to buy sand, the lorry man will push this tax on me,so will the matatu man,and supermarket etc. And that is not the only tax this government has proposed. Even a donkey has a weight limit.
Stop the wastage by government. Stop the corruption in the national and county governments! The leadership doesn't want to go there. Taxes is all they want to,it is easy.

Do we stop buying cars?. Then scrap off road maintenance levy. This man is lying. Huh ni uongo. I question his wisdom. Public participation is just a show in Kenya.Ask Kimanj if I sell my 1 egg to my neighbor at 10 bob if I will pay with ETIMs

It pains to hear such a young Kenyan trying to cheat Kenyans about tax. Trying some text book theories on tax papers just because you have a podium to do so... just like CSs treasury. We are not happy.. the employer and employees will suffer. Then the collection is wasted on some luxuries by the elected and government appointees. 🙄
