The high court advocate has understood the assignment. I love her arguments as they are well-thought out and make sense amidst all the noise surrounding the proposed finance bill. It’s good that she’s addressing members of the PAC

Tax avoidance is not a crime. for example. You can avoid paying taxes by not engaging in any economic activity.

Urban roads in Kenya have been constructed without an allowance for cycling. Hon. Rutto Kipleting should stop quoting Netherlands. If the government is keen on climate mitigation, it should make roads that are green/eco-friendly. Cycling in Kenyan roads is almost a death sentence.

🎉 When you tell us to do things as done by the already developed countries and the way the supporters of this car tax argue it makes one question their schooling and their sanity.

Its annoying indeed, why is Ruto very afraid of Taxing the rich people at the same rate without fear ?He is rushing at introducing Capping methods if he feels tax is touching the rich people. if 10% tax on sales ,let it be straight from the poor to the top level ,if 10% from kshs,10 same 10% to apply to the sale of Trillions sale. RUTO TO STOP CAPPING AND START GETTING TAX FROM THE RICH,ACTUALL MOST OF OUR KENYAN RICH MEN ARE THIEVES,LET THEM PAY TAX.

Most corporate executives and senior government officials in Denmark commute to work on bikes. Before the KK government starts to think of Motor Vehicle Circulation Tax, let us see a government officials walking the talk - Get the fuel guzzlers off the roads.

When many Kenyans will have their cars parked, fuel consumption will reduced hence reduced tax generated from fuel purchase, this is basic economics.

Oh, goodness! The KK evangelists like Hon. Ruto Kipleting' make my stomach turn; they're nauseating, for lack of a better word. Just how pedestrian do these folks think in their boardrooms! It is high time Kenyans stopped these folks in their tracks. Even a proposal should demonstrate some level of seriousness.

The MV Circulation tax need further discussions. The insurance value your car based on the cost the insurance will incur to compensate you to return you to the same status incase your car is stole, or damaged. This is usually not the market price of that car which includes all the applicable taxes. Which value will the govt use? What about those cars in the car yards that have 3rd party covers without owners. Does this mean that motor car dealers must pay this tax on unsold stock? What if the car is paid for today and sold off tomorrow? Lastly is this tax an allowable expense?
